Protect your pipes
At first I thought this water regulator was the biggest piece of junk. I installed it on the camper and hooked up the water hose. Turn the water on it was stabilized at 45 PSI. I then went and checked it a little later and saw 140 PSI. I started getting mad thinking what a piece of junk this is. Then I realized it does not allow backfeeding of water so when the water heater is on it will increase the pressure in the camper water system. Just make sure every now and then you open a faucet to let the pressure stabilize. I also found that mounting it with the gauge facing down added a little extra leverage protection from the fitting getting yanked downward due to the weight of the water hose.

nice shower pressure without fear of bursting the pipes
I live in my motorhome full time, and I finally got tired of putting up with low water pressure. I've read enough from other RVers to know that you should never just hook straight up to the water supply. A place with high pressure can burst the pipes in your RV and who wants that? So I had the standard brass pressure gizmo with a fixed setting. But the pressure in the coach was pitiful. I pulled the trigger on this regulator with an adjustable gauge. So glad I did. I can set the pressure to something tolerable without concern for my pipes. I installed it directly to the coach's water intake, inside the underbelly compartment. That way it stays locked and out of sight.

gotta let you know about this little bad boy. I recently purchased this because I thought ...
Hey all you RV folks out there, gotta let you know about this little bad boy. I recently purchased this because I thought something was defective with my old regular. My old regulator mind you was one that was NOT adjustable but had a safe preset pressure with a needle gage that showed a green area for pressure being acceptable & a red area for being over safe limit. I have used this with a Camco water filter you can pickup @ Walmart or pretty much any RV dealer or RV parts place. - Now for me this is where the best news about this adjustable regulator has literally changed my water pressure problems once & for all for the BEST! - I constantly struggled with the old one I had trying to have enough water pressure, I even had paid quite a bit of money for a top of the line low flow shower head specifically designed for low water pressure in an RV. Did research on the internet to find out the best setting for my new adjustable regulator & came up with about 50lbs fir older plumbing RV & 60lbs for a newer RV with the newer plastic tubing & fittings. It came from the factory pre-set @ 45lbs, I currently have mine set @ 40lbs. Let me tell you the woe's & worries of the old regulator are Totally a thing of the past. Set mine @ 30lbs & I now have Plenty I mean Plenty of pressure & totally wished I'd boughten one these type at least 2 years ago... Rest Assured I'm now smiling big time when I wash my hands, do dishes, fill my tea mug, or take a shower! ONE LIFE PROBLEM SOLVED! Thank Renator.... ;o)

Well built, well backed pressure regulator.
I was looking for a great pressure regulator that does not reduce water flow. I've had several other pressure regulators - including in-line regulators and other regulators similar to this one. None of them arrived with the sellers phone number right on the front label. And one of them broke within the first year. Mine worked perfectly right out of the box, but the fact that the seller plastered their phone number right on the front of the box says they stand behind it. This regulator is clearly well made - from the finish on the brass, to the seals that have clearly been done well on the regulator, this is a class act. I used the regulator the first weekend I had it and it worked great. It was set to 45psi right out of the box, and our pressure was about 40psi at the campground we used it in. So I tried reducing the pressure as a test, worked like a champ.

Product update !
Update to previous review. I want to give a shout out to the manufacturer Cartlee. Let it be noted I never contacted the company about my issue. They contacted ME!. During the HOLIDAY'S!. Taking the time from their family to rectify the issue I was having and went out of their way to promptly get me up and going. This is truly a quality product that I was very happy with until failure. It does what it's supposed to do and the fluid filled pressure gauge is a bonus. In a perfect world everything you purchase would last forever but I know even quality products can have problems at times. What makes the difference between the have and the have not's is the customer service that follows your purchase. This product and the company is top shelf in my book and deserves the updated rating. Previous review: Purchased from Amazon in May and based upon reviews and description of product this seemed like the one to get for my needs. First time I used it worked as advertised. Bumped it up to 50 psi and worked like a charm on the RV. This week, second time out, noticed leak at fitting behind commode third day into trip and had to turn water off to troubleshoot. YIKES! Thank goodness I bought one with a gauge. This thing was pegged at 90 psi. No wonder I had a leak and lucky didn't pop a line. Backed off regulator screw all the way and the lowest pressure I could get was 68 psi. Had high hopes but it's a shame it didn't last long.

Adjustable Water pressure regulator.
The first one arrived and the gage did not work correctly. Right on the box, in a large font, was a phone number to call if you had any problems. I called it and they immediately shipped me a second one and the materials I needed to ship the first one back. The second one works great, and I would recommend this product to a friend. I was impressed by the phone number for help being so prominently displayed on the package. Vendor was very cooperative.

REGULATOR cannot give you MORE pressure than your source.
Excellent product. Well Made. Works beautifully. Pressure initially set to 45 pounds at the factory. When I used it the first time, it only showed 42 pounds. I tried to raise the pressure higher using the screw adjustment, but the pressure wouldn't go higher. I realized the pressure at the source I was using was only 42 pounds. MADE ME THINK. I had turned the adjustment screw several rotations trying to get the pressure higher. If I leave it there when I disconnect, I could potentially get a major surge at the next source. SO, I turned the adjustment screw in the "lowering" direction until it started to lower the pressure on the gauge. Then brought it up again until the needle in the gauge stopped moving. Maybe it is in the directions, which I didn't read. Probably should have.

Its worth the purchase price just for the piece of mind alone.
i hated going from RV park to RV park and hoping the water pressure was not too high to the point that it might damage my plumbing. One day i was on amazon and found this regulator with an oil filled gauge. Yes I thought and sent for one. it arrived two days later and my wife and i were about to travel from Oklahoma to Montana to spend a couple of weeks in the mountains. Our first stop was at an RV park in Nebraska and i tried out the new gauge. 40 psi, great i was very pleased with this new regulator. Next stop was in Buffalo Wyoming. Again it was 42 psi and i was grateful that i got that gauge. We headed to Montana and when we arrived in the mountains i discovered that i had left my new gauge on the water line in Wyoming! I was kicking myself for being so absent minded. on the way back i received a call from the RV park in Buffalo and thy had my gauge and a couple of days later they put in the mail and i now have my gauge again. I will not forget or travel with out it again. an extremely fine product, thank you.

Heavy and Strong, looks well made.
Bought this for our coach. As we have yet to go back out, I have not used this camping yet. So this review is a first impression review. This is a heavy product. The brass seems very solid. Gauge is oil filled. There is a screen on the female (inlet) side of the unit. This seems to be a very well-made product. I mounted it on my hose bib at the house and there were no leaks. I mounted a second gauge on the male side (outlet) to compare the pressure readings. With the Renator reading 48 psi, the other gauge reads 52 psi (see photo). That is close enough for me. One thing that is stated in their Commonly Asked Questions included with the unit is that "...it is best to keep it upright so the gauge is in a vertical position with the rubber stopper on top, which helps to prevent it from leaking fluid.", however, every campground I have been in has had the water connection pointed down. Even their instruction guide shows it being connected pointed down. So I am not sure how one is expected to adhere to that recommendation. One thing to realize, it only shows the correct pressure if there is no flow, meaning that all water faucets in the coach have to be off. When you adjust the pressure, it will not change until some flow is used and then shut off.
