Didn't like it because it was too wide to fit in ...
I bought one with a light first. Didn't like it because it was too wide to fit in the door striker perpendicularly and pointed forward blocking egress. This one works perfectly pointed outward so it doesn't block you in, and it's really solid and feels like it will support a heavy person. I'm 240 lbs and it doesn't budge with my weight on it.

Big help getting in and out of car.
It works. Really helps my husband get in and out of his car. He has Parkinson's and some days are good, some are not so good. This tool is a big help.

Love this thing!
If you have any trouble getting in or out of the car, and want more handles so your arms can help with the process, this thing is for you! This particular one can be put parallel or perpendicular to the body of the car, whereas most can only be put paralell. However, we find we mostly use it parallel, so that's not a huge issue. You have to remember to push DOWN on it, not pull up, or it won't help and will pop out. (sometimes that's hard for my elderly mother to remember) She loves it though, and finds it's 1000X easier to get both in and out of the car with it. All of these type of car canes are pretty comparable, in our opinion. We have a few different ones, and they're all good, whether or not they are more or less expensive. You place it in the metal ring that the car door closes into, and the plate around it is getting a little scuffed black (the plate is also metal), and I would guess some of these different types scuff more or less, depending on their design. Highly recommend.

A must for those with difficulty with car transfers
As a home care occupational therapist, I have attained several of these for my patients who have issues with car transfers. It is easy to get into a car, but getting out is difficult for most of my patients. This item provided a handle on the right side of the car door frame that they could push off for easier and safer sit to stand car transfers. It inserts in the D-ring that is used to keep the car door securely closed. The handle is solid and with the rubber grip, when dropped, it won't break like some of the hard plastic handles that are out there. The handle is comfortable when gripped. A solid little device that keeps my patients as independent as possible and is easily transferred from car to car, or sits in the side door compartment, or in a woman's purse if needed. You still need to have the strength to push yourself up from a sit to stand, but is much safer than your loved one pulling your shoulder out of the socket that could lead to a dislocation, subluxation or a torn rotator cuff!!

Works great; purchased this as it seems to be one ...
My Mom broke her hip and had problems with strength to get in and out of car. We used this right after purchase and gave her stabilization to shimmy herself into car as it gave her a solid stronghold. Works great; purchased this as it seems to be one piece of solid aluminum or alloy and not pieced together; great grip on handle as it is designed like a bicycle handle. Seemed more stable than other products I viewed.

Works like a charm
This little device is just what I needed to be able to get in and out if the car easily after my hip replacement surgery. It's easy to use, sturdy enough to hold my weight and stores easily in the console.

Having the handle gave that security of not falling
My mother recently developed a medical condition and needs a little assistance getting in and out of the car. This was recommended by her physical therapist who said, it was recommended by his other patients. It gave my mother the support getting in and out of my car using the handle. It also gave her that security of not falling. I almost didn’t purchase it due to the reviews on how it didn’t fit on certain Toyota models. I took the chance...It fits on a 2006 Toyota 4runner. Easy to use... Just insert the latch of the door frame.
