They work fine. I'd like to see 6 and 8 foot ties available. Sure you can join then but the weak point in zip ties it at the junction where the ratchet connects to the tie. They always fatigue at that point so the more points of stress the more likely it is going to fail. A trip to the hardware store reveled 72" in white and 40" in black. Long enough for my uses at this time but still wish there were longer options. A 55 gal drum is about 71" to 72" in circumference but only 23" in diameter so for certain types of projects such as a bird house in an old tree, longer could come in handy. Of course there's always nails.

Very strong, will hold up to the project Update 2 weeks later: I have been using them to hold down a tarp covering a dog kennel to keep it dry. We have had 2 weeks of heavy downpours. The first, regular zipties broke with the first down pour. They couldnt withstand the weight of the water as it pooled on the tarp (at least 100 lbs). These zipties are still going strong after 2 weeks and not a single one has snapped! Wonderful product!

I have been using these for about a month and a half in an outdoor setting. To test their durability I have zipped two of the white ties together suspending a 15 pound weight from a thin metal bar. It has been out in the northern California heat/cold for 1.5 months. My observation has been no discoloration, powdering or any other noticeable deterioration or abnormal stretching, if any at all; though I did not measure distance from weight to ground.

I needed those ties for a couple of different things. I used them to tie a piece of wood to my dog's create so that she can't escape. They worked very well. The first package that I got was damaged but the seller was helpful and got new ones. Doesn't break easily not unless you cut them and I think they are fairly strong. So far they worked great.

So I purchased these after running out of another type after Hurricane Florence. When it looked like another storm was going to hit us, I immediately sought out replacements. I found these ties and the biggest thing that stood out to me was the resealable bag. It may seem like a little detail, but my previous cable tie bag did not have this feature and it was not uncommon to go to grab some and have the contents spill out. The ties themselves are very versatile and durable. They are strong enough to hold down tarps and easy enough to use that I was able to put them on in the rain. Will definitely be buying these again when I run out.

Honestly, I use them in place of the Aero Flex weedeater line. Way less expensive and the are perfect for the amout of yard work I do. That said, maybe next time I will buy the 10 inch zip ties. ;) Digging this gardening hack!

As with many of my reviews this is my personal opinion none of my reviews are compensated in any way shape or form, I retired after 40 years out of the maintenance field. These ties are heavy duty just like they claim. I love them, if you need a lot of strength in your project these will perform. Not brittle like most of the others, flexible enough! I recommend this product.

I have looked and looked for wider thicker zip ties. I live in the desert and use these everywhere on the farm. We get very high winds here so the normal zips don't last long on the shade cloths. Plus the heat in the summer can bake the thinner ones very quickly. I was buying aircraft zip ties and they lasted a long time but they are expensive. And then I found these. These are nice and thick and wide, really well made. Glad I found them.

Originally, I purchased another brand. They were so thin, they snapped when attempting to use them. They were temperature sensitive and that's why the snapped in 30 degree Chicago weather. Regardless of the temperature where you reside, I highly recommend buying heavy duty zip ties. These are stronger and not weather sensitive.

Our dog has managed to pry her large metal cage open and escape no matter what we try. We have blocked it with furniture and everything! She finally pried the bars apart and even injured herself in the escape. We bought these zip ties to reinforce the cage, and, voila! No more blocking the cage and no more escapes. These zip ties tie so snugly that she can't seen to get her teeth around them. Very easy to use. I haven't tried to cut them off, so I'm not sure how hard that would be.
