Good tester, good price
Good tool for a decent price. I use it to test 12v components on cars and light trucks. Does everything I need it to.

Big help in kids science experiments
I have purchased 3 of the Digital Multimeters for use in a science camp I teach as a volunteer to intercity children grades 4 through 6. In the experiment, the students make a super battery and check the voltage as they add cells and in another experiment, they make a flashlight with an LED powered by pennies and zinc washers. The multimeter works perfectly as it has a large range of voltages. The continuity feature was especially useful to show students where the problem existed by tracing each component of the super battery. The meter is tough and the readings are very clear. They have added a lot to the experiments. I would recommend them without any reservations. Gary A Wilson

Inaccuracy % is greater at lower voltages
A very nice piece for the price. After some testing it seems like the accuracy decreases as the voltage decreases. Anything below 1.5V DC (Typical battery) will read an estimated 20% inaccuracy. And for really low voltage, like 0.1, 0.2, ... 0.5 DC voltage the inaccuracy could be up to 150% but that's only a concern if you'd like to test small electronics like Arduino boards or something of the sort. On the bright side, it will read my AC power outlets with only a 1% error, which is very good considering the level of power. Overall, it's more reliable for larger voltages and will surely help me learn more about electricity. The only disadvantage is that the metal tips are too short to reach into outlets. 5/5 stars because of the fair price.

Works, feels quality, cheap!
I've used a lot of different multi-meters over the years, and this one was priced right at about $10. Showed up packaged well in a nice box and wrap, along with some plastic nubs for the tips. I was originally buying another meter for a battery tester, and this one serves the purpose, and more of course. Display is very easy to read and is clear. The unit itself feels sturdy and has a nice casing. The dial clicks around easy enough. Comes with the required battery already installed, so it is ready to go out of the box. As far as accuracy, I have only tested it on a couple of things, but seems to be reading correct, other users have had more detailed reports that sound promising. For the price point, this one is definitely worth it.

Good Meter - Great Price
I'm an electronics guy, and have an expensive meter. I got tired of worrying about breaking it when I was working on cars, tractors, etc. Then I saw that Amazon is practically giving this meter away, so I picked it up. I am very happy that I did. It is not particularly sophisticated, but it seems to be very rugged (I already dropped it). At this price you are not going to get auto-ranging, so you have to set the correct range, which is done with the big rotary switch. There is an Off position on this switch, too. The meter uses standard cables, so I am able to use the various cables that I already had.

Good value for your money , Good for beginers .
Presented this to beginner. Tested it thoroughly and it worked correctly. Was a little off precision but perfect for beginners. Has a signal injector / source mode ! Hold mode ! Small size perfect for space savings on a desk. Inexpensive and therefore best for a beginner who definitely will screw up. There are many helpful how to videos on the Amazon product page on how to use a multi-meter, and many videos on YouTube. Packaging and instructions are helpful. The backlight and hold features are especially helpful, and I'm surprised it doesn't sell for even more. For the price, this is a fantastic deal!I know I haven't been using it long, but it has a one-year warranty and I've got a feeling it will last much longer than that.Feels solid. Reads quickly. The instruction booklet is very small and difficult to read without a magnifying glass. Even though the price is cheap the quality level feels quite good. Clear display and solid switches. Blue back light is soothing. Kickstand is a nice added touch. Cons - Don't forget to turn it off when not in use as the internal battery drains fast. The battery which it came with is pretty much useless within a month.

Good as you're going to get for the price
As we all know, Multimeters are the kind of thing where you can go with a $5 Analog, up to $500 Flukes. No, you AREN'T getting a $500 Fluke here. If your job depends on this tool, you need to look elsewhere. If you are a hobbyist however, this is for you. I purchased this to teach my 8-year-old son how to work with basic small electronics and some basic electric safety measures. Leads are pretty nice but do have some minor difficulty where they interface with the actual unit. It's easy for them to become every-so-slightly unplugged, which will result in the meter itself looking faulty (dropping out), when in fact it's just the leads not seated well. Finally, the batteries are NOT EASILY changed. You have to take off the entire back with, I assume, a tiny screwdriver, and replace the standard 9V when ready. Aside from these cons, however, this is an EXTREMELY NICE multimeter FOR THE PRICE. It's the kind of unit I could let my son use and learn with (along with adequate safety instructions), knowing that it is reasonably accurate but at the same time if he breaks it, without being upset at all since this is cheaper than even a cheap dinner date. At the same time, it is nice, accurate, and solid enough I would definitely use these for simple around-the-house tasks like checking an alternator or contunity in a lower voltage appliance.

Incredible DMM Bargain
I must admit that I have only compared 3 of the under 20 buck meters, but this one is IMHO, one of the best bargains that I have considered and or tested. The good: 1. Consistently accurate on all scales/ranges when compared to 2 much higher priced meters (Tektronix DMM 870 and DMM 850), see pix. 2. Decent, solid feeling case with protective "rubber" boot to resist breakage when dropped. 3. Fits the hand well, feels great. 4. Nice crisp display with toggle on/off backlight. 5. Probes are properly sheathed, and the safety category is properly marked. 6. Best test beeper tone of the three. 7. Handy test tone (50 hz square wave, rich in harmonics) see pix... great for simple audio circuit testing. 8. Very uncommon high meg ohm range available. This is the only meter that I own that will accurately measure a 100 meg ohm resistor... see pix. 9. Least expensive of the three meters I compared. The bad: 1. Only one fuse, but that is one more than many inexpensive meters. 2. No automatic power off... also lacking in most inexpensive meters. The Ugly: Nothing to report here... very decent meter!

All homeowners need to have a multimeter..
For an inexpensive basic multimeter this is a great buy. I was able to diagnose which part of my refrigerator failed. If you own a home/appliances you need at least a basic multimeter to keep from spending a fortune on repairs when YouTube can coach you through the basics if you have the tools to work through your breakdowns! As an update, I recently purchased a water heater. I installed it and it worked for a day, BOOM no longer making hot water! So over the phone diagnostics were performed and a purchase order authorized by Whirlpool for a new upper thermostat. 15min to Lowes and hot water was cranking again! Don't be a noob, get a multimeter...

Best Bang For The Buck
I am a retired Electronics Technician. Over the decades, I have used a lot of electronic test equipment and measuring devices in several work places and in my shop at home. I have gone through a number of inexpensive battery operated VOMs similar to this one. Some of these were good, but did not last as long as one would want. This one is one of the very best of its kind that I had. I compared measurements with an expensive meter that I have for very critical measurements. This expensive meter is large, fairly heavy and needs to plugged into an AC household outlet. Therefore it is stationary. The comparative readings surprised me. This inexpensive little VOM is more accurate than one would expect. Quite often I need to have a meter like this in various locations to make quick readings with a small handy-dandy VOM like this. Such a meter is often subject to physical and operational abuse and often bites the dust too early in its expected life span. Ergo, I tend to spend as little as possible for such a meter. This one I think is currently the very best bang for the buck. I will probably get another one for use in my mobile tool caddy. I had this one for a while now, and I used it a lot in several applications. It is quite stable, has a lot of good features all of which work as well as one might hope for in an inexpensive device like this.
