Does the job.

We find the clock very helpful. It was purchased for a loved one who needs to be reminded of the day, date, and part of day to help reduce taking medications incorrectly. He would fall asleep for a nap and think that it was the next day when he awoke and, therefore; he would attempt to retake his morning meds even though it was only a few hours later. Previously I bought a similar clock from another maker that only lasted 4 months. We became dependent on this style of clock but did not want to get another one from the other maker, hence this purchase. Pros-lists day, date, and part of day, clear contrast and readability with black and white background and lettering. Cons-Fonts could be larger and I wish you could set parameters for parts of day as I could with the previous clock. I also wish I could change the background color to blue as we had before. Overall, great clock but could be improved. Hopefully, it will last longer than the last one did.

I have all great things to say about this product. I received it in about a week after ordering. The packaging was nice and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I bought this for my dad who still lives at home alone with dementia. I noticed he would be continuously looking for the day, day of the week, month and so on. This clock gives him all the information he needs in one spot in large letters and digits, best of all it tells whether it’s morning or night. There are 5 alarms you can set as reminders to take medication- the screen even says”take your morning medication” or night. My dad loves it, it looks great and is so helpful. When we plugged it in for the first time it had the accurate date and time and all other information, we didn’t need to set it. It has an internal built in battery that saves all the settings if you lose power. The buttons on the back are large and clearly marked. Something that seems so simple to most of us is so important and helpful to someone like my dad frustrated with limited short term memory

Excellent product, it's been a lifesaver for us

This product has been a real lifesaver for us. My wife's 84 year old mother would constantly ask us what day it was, what time it was, etc. This clock has returned to her a sense of independence, and has made life easier for us as well. Now she won’t stop telling us how much she loves this clock! I’m happy that this product exists today for folks like us who care for a family member with dementia. When purchasing it I didn't notice any extensive reviews on this item so I figured I would test my writing skills and give this a shot: Features: * You can place the Day Clock on a table using the pull out stand, or you can hang it on a wall using the dedicated hole in the back. * Alarm frequency options: 1) Once 2) Everyday 3) Weekdays 4) Weekends. * You can also set 5 separate alarms, and choose to include a medication message. This is the strongest feature of this clock, and it's what made me fall in love with it. The white letters are really sharp, which allows the information to be seen easily from across the room * Ease of use. This is a true Plug 'N Play Product, it worked straight out of the box. * U.S based customer service and warranty. Cons: * Price. At $49 this clock isn't cheap. I actually emailed the brand’s customer support about this, as it's double the price of a regular alarm clock, and they replied that the higher cost is due to the high quality screen component adding to the cost of manufacture. Fair enough, and I do hope they develop a way to manufacture it for less, maybe a cheaper version with a lesser quality screen might be something to consider.

Perfect Gift for All But Particularly for Memory Impaired!

I bought 2 of these clocks for my Dad who has dementia. Part of the reason was selfish in that he is ALWAYS asking me what day it is!!!! These clocks are as easy as can be to set up. All you do is plug the adapter into a wall socket and then the easy to use menu system walks you through the entire set up. There really isn’t much to change except for time and alarms! There are up to 5 alarms so I was also able to set a medication reminder to the phone. It’s basically plug and use. The preset features dimming from 7 pm to early the next morning but you may even adjust those times. I bought one in mahogany and one matte black (the frame colors). I placed one right next to his chair he sits in during the day and another in his bedroom facing his bed. At a glance he will know the day of the week, the time, whether it’s morning, afternoon or evening and of course the date. The LED display is bright and clear. It dims a little at 7 pm, but is still bright enough to see from every direction/every angle. Terrific purchase! PROS: -PERFECT GIFT for folks with memory deficits or for anyone at all! -Very nice well crafted frames from various wood stains to metal ones with colors from silver to two kinds of finishes (matte or non matte) -Includes ALL information for the day -Beautiful non-glare LED screen with large print -Menu button on back that is extremely easy to use with clear options -Has up to 5 alarm settings. Amazing Clock for Helping Forgetful People Stay Independent

All I can say is that this is an amazing clock. I bought this for an elderly friend who needed to see the day, date, and time AND have several alarms go off throughout the day for medication reminders. This is perfect!! The display is very large and looks classy. It doesn't have that tacky 80s digital display you find on some of these bigger display clocks. The auto-dimming feature is perfect so that it doesn't fill the room with light at night. There are five alarms that can be set and the display can read four variants of, "Time to take your medication." The message is not customizable, which would be a great additional feature, but is not necessary to have this clock be fantastic. I gave four instead of five stars for "easy to use" because, while it was easy for me to figure out without even looking at the directions, a less tech-savvy person would struggle with all the settings. Since this is marketed to older people, I gave it four stars for easy to use, but my opinion is that someone will probably need to help set this for an older person who has less experience with electronics. All in all, a literal lifesaver for someone who frequently missed medication doses prior to having this clock.

This thing is AWESOME!

The clock is smaller than I was hoping, only about the size of a piece of paper, but it is awesome. It looks good, is easy to read and does exactly what I need it to do. My mother is in a nursing home and a lot of residents in facilities of that type experience what's called "losing time", they lose track of what day it is and really even what time of day it is, even if they have another clock. This clock shows the relative time of day as well, by displaying "Pre-Dawn, Morning (as shown), Afternoon, Evening, and Night. (I think that's right...) My mother almost cried when I surprised her with it. She said she could now try to keep a better schedule. It is WELL WORTH the price.

Great for persons with limited sight or forgetfulness

I bought this for my mother-in-law, as she has macular degeneration and dementia. We use this in addition to a jumbo paper calendar. The characters are large enough for her to see. I especially like the feature of "morning, afternoon, evening & night", as she was getting the time of day confused. The description on the clock tells the height of the characters & lets you know that if you move the location to a different electrical outlet, you will need to reset your options again. A good improvement would be if it had a feature to the atomic clock for setting correct time & date automatically. So, just make sure you know where to want to put it before you plug it in a set the date & time & other features. If there's a power outage, it will maintain your settings for that.

My Day Clock purchase. This is one of the neatest items I've ever purchased on Amazon.

This has turned out to be one of the neatest purchase I've ever made on Amazon and I've been buying "stuff" for over 10 years. I have never made this claim before about an Amazon purchase. This Day Clock makes me feel more confident, like I accurately know what day it is, what time it is, hey, what year it is. I'm going to buy a second one when I make my next Amazon purchase. These Day Clocks are very clean, sharp looking. Don't know how I've gone this long without this kind of assistance. And there is a one page instruction sheet that explains how to accurately set up. You need to push a button 4 times, that's it. Very easy, in fact easier than setting up your average bedside digital clock. Has 5 alarm times that you can activate if need. Just a simple 4 step process to set up, setting the day, date, time. Plug it in and that's it.

Fits the need

I just received it, so can't yet discuss how it does over the long run (but I assume it will be just fine). But, it's simple to set up use, has a very large display that is easily read, and various parts of the display (such as "morning" or "afternoon") can be switched off to make the screen less cluttered if need be, and has a pre-installed battery backup so the clock doesn't lose the time and date when unplugged or power is lost. It's not clear to me whether the pre-installed battery can be replaced, as it will eventually wear down, or how to do that (but I've emailed the manufacturer to ask). All in all, looks good and fits the need well. It has a number of other options, such as a series of different alarms that can be set, so is versatile if alarms are needed. Even the display color can be changed from white to yellow.

Awesome Clock!

I bought three of these clocks and am going to buy at least one more. This is a great product! The first intention was for an individual with visual problems. However, once this was in my hands I thought of SO many more uses. What a help it would have been in my classroom for years. I would not have had to write the information on the board each day. The children would have had it readily available on this clock! My husband and I are already enjoying one of the clocks in our t.v. room, and we're giving one to our college grandson to help when he works long hours, sleeps long hours, and has to keep up with college classes. Did I mention - there are five possible alarm settings?? Terrific! This is a clock for MANY ages and stages - not just a few. The ease of setting the time to our correct time zone was good, too. When it is unplugged and re plugged, the time automatically returns to the correct time. That is a positive! This is a purchase I'm thankful to have made. My only regret... not buying them a lot sooner!!!
