Amazing range and quality!
OMG!!!! When I first read about the possible range on these, I was like "Ok, whatever". I figured we would use them when camping so the kids could check in as they were out exploring. When we first got them we used them at home. My wife and daughter went hiking about 10 miles away (no exaggeration) and I could hear them as clearly as if they were right next to me!!! I never expected them to work that well! They come with a dual charger base. No need to take the batteries out, or deal with wires / plugs. Just place them in the cradle and let em charge. They are also pretty solid. A few drops and still holding up well. I registered for a license to use the GMRS channels. Not sure what the chances are of getting busted or fined to use without a license but I figured it was worth doing it right just in case. it covers me and anyone in my family. If you are on the fence, don't be... get these radios today!

These were so great! great sound quality and easy to use
We used these recently on vacation in the national park where our cell phones do not work. They were awesome! Often we were on the river and although we were relatively close in range we could not hear each other over the river -- so we used these almost daily -- and they worked great! We also used these when we were in different locations so we could continue to communicate. We could hear clearly, had them on all day with no battery issues, and they were easy to use. As far as range goes, we were typically only using them within a few miles, so couldn't say how well they work in long range situations. We like the display so we can quick and easily check to be sure we are on the same channel. There is a clip on the back side of the radio that allowed us to easily clip on our pack or vest. The radio's are small and compact, about the size of the palm of your hand, and the charging station is small too. The small size made it easier to pack and took up very little space. Both the radios and charging station are also very light weight - which was a necessity for us as we take a fair amount of gear and staying under the airline weight limit can be a challenge. During our trip, we decided this was the winner for best "gear" item we took with us. So glad we made this purchase!!!

These Midland Radios worked great, we did here a few other families on ...
I purchased 2 sets of these to take on a Cruise so my family would all be able to keep in touch while we were roaming around the Ship. I did this because the Cell Rate ($$) on the ship when using their tower was about $4 per minute. Needless to say I didn't want to pay that price. These Midland Radios worked great, we did here a few other families on the lower channels but thanks to these units having 36 channels we found that the higher numbers had no one on them. It was harder to talk with a person that was lower in the ship but that may have been "My issue" because our cabins were down deep, Ha Ha. Great Deal, Great Product Thanks,

Immediately throw your midland battery pack in the garbage, and replace them with rechargeable AAA duracells
Used on a road trip between two cars. Immediately throw your midland battery pack in the garbage, and replace them with rechargeable AAA duracells. The stock midland batteries died 30 minutes into the car ride, after a full charge the day before. The duracells lasted me a comfortable 12 hours. There is a roger beep, and it can be disabled. If you plan on using a two pin microphone for this radio, make sure its specific for Midland, as they have different o-rings on the smaller pin. The range I would say depends on your line of sight. about a mile or two with obstacles. 10/10 would recommend.

We Love it
My wife now can keep up with me. We live in the country and she can get me easier with these than a phone. I like the weather station part also.

Great compact communication two-way radios
These portable radios are compact in size and work very well on both frequencies of the FRS/GMRS bands. Iplan on using these between vehicles while traveling with family, hunting, work, and to keep in contact with my children away from the house if they happen to run any errnds for me.I am very happy with the features thes have built in, I will be sending for my FCC License yo operate on the GMRS . I would reccommend these radios to anyone who is looking for a short range communications for these needs. Dale

radios worked great!! have had them for over two years ...
radios worked great!! have had them for over two years now and have had to replace the battery packs just now. we used the radios on our farm for daily use at least 5 days a week 8 hr a day. the radios get charged all through the night and all through the weekends. we have only lost one radio due to dropping it in a pig pen with liquid manure. they are water resistant but not pig proof!! i have purchased a total of 12 radios from them and they work great! will recommend not buying replacement battery packs (one sells for $19) i simply bought rechargeable batteries from the store in 4 packs for $10. each radio takes three batteries each so i had just enough for 12 radios. (9 packs of 4 = 36 batteries divided by 3 = 12 radios.)

Handy and quick to start off
This Walkie Talkie is for my mom and sis who live where cell phone coverage is faint. When I visited them, we used the walkie talkies on our walks outside and it worked just fine. - The first-time battery charge took 1.5 days (long!). The powering on and set up was fast. - The handsets are small enough to slip into a coat or jacket pocket. The volume is loud so you might need to attune it to your own desires.

These are a Win!
I love these Two Way Radios! My wife and I have used them for a variety of situations. Wedding event planing, Hiking, Car Road Trips, Security at various events, construction sites...and many more things. I did buy the Midland AVPH3 Transparent Security Headsets with all 6 of the two way radios i have. These are good for close range communication. The box says 30 miles is the range but that's not happening in a city. That is only line of site with no obstructions. With all the ones I've bought, i have had not one problem with them. The batteries last for days...I used them for an event one day and left them on the whole day still was with a full charge. the next day used them again...at the end of the day one was gone and still had near a full charge! Also having the NOAA weather radio built in, is super helpful in hiking, biking and camping trips as well. So if you need a professional look to your security or event staff or just need communication when at parks or hiking, camping, boating, or your GO Bag ( BUG OUT BAGS to some ;) ) and any other activity, these are good for you. I couldn't be happier!

Great radios - very good value
I go on various fishing, hunting, motorcycling, hiking, etc. adventures every year and I always like to take FRS radios to keep our group in constant communication and also for safety purposes. I had been using Motorola radios previously, but had a very bad experience with the last set of Motorola's I bought (the radios were defective and didn't work properly and Motorola customer service would not help). In any case, I decided to try these Midlands as a replacement for my Motorola's and in a nutshell I have been very pleased. I purchased 4 radios (2 sets of 2) and took them on a recent fishing trip. We had 4 people using the radios, and they worked flawlessly over several miles and within hilly and heavily wooded terrain. They are lightweight, easy to setup and use. One of the radios was submerged in water...we shut it off and let it dry out, it now works perfectly. I am very pleased with this Midland radios and have no intention of ever buying Motorola again. Also, the charging cradle is well made and I like the way the radios firmly sit in the cradle (although I do wish the led lights on the cradle would turn green once the radios are charged). These radios are an excellent value!!
