Works as described. Solid build quality.

I had a old 17in Samsung LCD with a VGA port. I needed someway to hook up this ancient monitor to a newer video card that had display port. After researching on amazon, I found VicTsing DisplayPort(DP) To VGA Adapter and ordered it. Once I received it in the my mail, I gave it a try and it succeed my expectations. The build quality is solid.

It Works!

I bought this to run an old VGA monitor off of a new nVidia graphics card as part of a three-monitor set-up. The card has three different outputs; DP, HDMI, and DVI. It is able to use all three simultaneously if desired. This adapter was obviously for the DisplayPort (DP) port. There's not much to say other than that the adapter works as intended. Windows 10 correctly identified the ancient monitor through the passive analog adapter and is able to send it whatever resolution I ask. Frankly, I was surprised at how good it looked and how easily it all came together. I see no reason to pay more for an adapter such as this. It does the job. The flexible cable between the two ends allows me to put the computer box closer to a wall than if it was a solid one-piece unit. I didn't want a 4-inch plastic lever sticking out the back of my computer, so I got this. I am very satisfied.

Works great for your 2nd monitor

Most monitors ship with an RGB cable which is fine when you only need one monitor. I have an HP docking station which also has DisplayPorts but the 2nd monitor only had an RGB cable so the VicTsing device makes this easy. All you need to do is to plug the RGB cable into the RGB port on the device and then plug the DP into your slot in your docking station or PC. If you have Windows 10, the rest is automatic. This device does exactly what you want for a 2 monitor setup.

Does the job perfectly.

Lets you hook up a VGA monitor to a DP signal. It will NOT let you connect a DP monitor to a VGA signal. Also, this adapter is NOT compatible with any USB connectors or signals. I had zero problems with this. I have a dual monitor capable video card. I'm using the card's DVI-D output to drive a 1280x1024 DVI monitor. I'm also using the video card's DP output, to which I've connected this adapter. The adapter then connects to my second monitor, which runs at 1920x1080. Everything is running at 60Hz. I didn't bother to see if higher refresh rates are supported. I am running Win7 32-bit and Win7 64-bit on two different partitions and it works fine on both. One thing I've noticed and seen discussed is that adding a second monitor can sometimes cause your video card to run hot - unless both monitors are the same resolution and the same refresh rate. I have this issue and I don't even do any gaming. I do not believe this is in any way a fault or a or defect in this adapter.

Functions exactly as expected

Adapters are usually pretty simple tech, but this one stands out for the following few reasons: 1. The build quality is great. You can generally tell during the installation process whether you bought a quality product, or cheap garbage. I especially appreciate the design of the release lever on the Displayport, there's nothing worse than not having enough grip strength to press in some ungodly stiff button made from cheap plastic. 2. There is absolutely no response delay. and functions perfectly at 1080p. 3. Lastly, I had one problem about a week ago where the screen would constantly jitter. This does not mean the adapter is broken. I simply hadn't had it in tight enough. No noticeable damage was incurred due to this, which tells me the device is quite sturdy and will last a long time. I used this device to display a 1440 x 900 graphics tablet screen, though it will go up to any quality or refresh rate that a regular VGA is expected to reach. I tested it at 1080p 60hz for the sake of this review, so as long as your VGA cable can deliver the signal, the Displayport will keep up.

INEXPENSIVE AND EFFECTIVE

I have purchased this item before and did so again because it is so reliable and works so well. It solved a major issue for me at a low cost. I will continue to purchase this and other products from this manufacturer because of the reliability of these purchases. they haven't let me down in the thirteen months they have been in use.

Does what it says!

This adapter works perfectly fine with my VGA monitor to my GTX 1080 display port. I love the build quality and the addition of the VGA screw holes to hold the VGA firmly inside the adapter. It will definitely keep my VGA relevant for a while till I upgrade.

Nothing but good things to say

Works as advertised. I used this cord to switch an old VGA monitor to a DisplayPort on a graphics card. Worked without a hiccup. Keep in mind this is a passive device meaning it is unpowered. Some devices can have a problem seeing the device with a passive converter. Overall a positive experience, would buy again.

Works great

Works great! This my second purchase of this item, and I'm now using them on both of my monitors. While it looks bulky, it allows for full usage of ports, which on my card are rather close together, unlike other adapters which place the VGA heads so close that it makes it impossible to plug two in directly next to one another.
