Ordered what I wanted, Received what I Ordered

Normally I don't give 5 stars until I've had a chance to run the product through the mill, so to speak. And I haven't done that as of yet, BECAUSE I ordered this package because I already had some I purchased a few years ago. These are for my Grandson to use when he visits week after next and then take back home when he leaves. Be assured that if they don't perform as they should, I WILL be back with a revised 'Star' count. (Few things irritate me more than to read a review where the 'buyer' says something like: 5 STARS, Received "It" right on time, "It" was packaged nicely, I found my "Forever GO TO Manufacturer" and then this Dummy says: I'm going to open "It" if I'm still interested in the hobby, next time it snows up to the rooftop, probably in about 6 months". Did that help you make a decision? Of course not! So I'll be back with the final answer.) The rate features shows what I expect and I know what I expect and can tell the difference.

Great kit for beginning leathercraft

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. We both have been using this kit with all the leather crafts we have been doing. This kit has everything you need witht he exception of a hole puncher. Everything seems well made, no issues noted with use.

Pretty good beginner kit

I’m just starting to play around with some leather projects and I didn’t want to drop a lot of cash on something that I might only use a few times. That being said, it seems to be a pretty decent beginner kit. I have only used a few of the tools so far, but they have all worked quite well. They all seems to be well made and definitely suited for a beginner.

Best set for the value.

I actually bought this just for the stamps and wasn’t expecting anything too great considering the price BUT I was pleasantly surprised. Understand, I am reviewing this for what it is. Your not going to get the same quality you would if you went and bought each piece for 20 to 30 bucks each but these are good and they are great for starting. I would recommend these to anyone that wants to try their hand at leatherwork and doesn’t want to sink a ton of money into it until they know if they would enjoy it or not.

Quality tools for stitching heavy leather.

I needed tools to stitch heavy leather and this kit had the tools. The needles, threads, wax, and the thread hole punches are all good quality tools and should last a good long time. Have not had them long enough to see a failure.

After receiving the tools I am amazed at the quality

For the price I was expecting to use these tools for one or two projects. After receiving the tools I am amazed at the quality. The wood handle on the stitch groover is set solid with the tool, the skiver is a cast tool with no mechanical fasteners to hold the blade head on like most. I could go on but you won't find a better kit for the price.

Perfect starter kit for making sheaths.

I recently started the hobby of making my own custom knife handles for blanks and the biggest problem is having a great knife but no sheath. I recently purchased one of Big Teddy's leather crafting kits which came with exactly every thing I needed to start this endeavor. The price was awesome, esp considering how spendy these hobby's can get so every penny counts. If you're considering trying to make your own sheaths I highly recommend buying this kit you won't be disappointed.... Here is a picture of my first project, I just made my own custom knife from a Hultifors HD blade, and it now has a sheath 😉 I can't wait to get better and try new stuff.

EDIT: Got in contact with seller and they shipped out the missing tool for no additional charge. Fantastic! Decent quality for the price. Perfect starter set for people just getting into leather working. However, when I got this package it was missing the Skiving tool. I got the 10 pack of razors but nothing to use them in.

BIGTEDDY - 20pcs Leather Working Saddle Making Stamps Tools Set for Leathercraft Carving DIY Handmade Art (Silver) Why did I spend 9$ for one stamp at Tandy leather company?? these are the exact same thing and I got 20 pieces. Yeah most likely will not use most of these, but the six or so I use regularly were well worth the cost. For anyone doing this sort of work you know it is a repetitive task and can cause your thumb and hand to get sore holding these. Would love to see ones with a thicker handle? But for the price they are durable, quality stamps producing a great finish.

Excellent Tool, Excellent value.

I use this to bind books, and it works really well! It can be used with several different attachments, which makes it versatile enough to do everything from poking holes through signatures to sewing the binding with thick waxed linen thread. Would recommend.
