It does everything I need it to do. I'm wildly unimpressed with newer DVD players because they have "smart" features which means they nag you and guilt you for 'wasting energy' and are constantly turning themselves off when you didn't ask them to. I love this DVD player because it is a recorder also, so you can record tv shows in live time onto a DVD and have a physical copy. It converts VHS tapes to DVD beautifully and does a pretty good job of providing good DVD menu options. I've had this DVD player for well over 10 years and it has never faltered. *That* is a good product. I've had at least five blu ray players fail on me in the time I've had this DVD player. Other than it not being a blu ray player (which for converting VHS --> DVD is irrelevant anyway), there aren't a lot of cons. It takes a few seconds for the DVD player boot up and like almost any DVD player, it's loud when you open the DVD tray. Other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever. I'm so glad I made this purchase.
