Smooth, quiet, and great looking

Very handsome looking and smooth operating equipment. We tried to mount it directly on lath and plaster walls -- not a good idea. Use a 1-inch ledger board screwed into the studs if your wall is real plaster. Otherwise, it was easy to mount, works smoothly, and looks great. With a barn door entry to our bathroom, it seems like it is at least twice as large. Everything you need for mounting is in the kit. Bring your own tools, of course. And, make sure that you mount the bar dead-level. The rollers are silent, and move so smoothly that even a 1/8-inch difference across six feet (we cut down the bar for our less than 8-foot wall) will cause the door to roll.

This was a great looking track for a barn door my interior is a little more modern versus rustic and I’ve priced them all over the place and this was far cheaper then what anybody else was charging it went up easy and this also let you put the brackets in the studs and then hang the rod So you didn’t have to use mollies it looks fantastic and add a fantastic price

Great Product

This is a very solid product and looks awesome. Just got done with a DIY project and it was easy to install. The only issue I had was the predrilled holes are 16” on center (normal spacing because of stud location) but the studs didn’t line up. I drilled another hole in the steel and things worked out great. I had to use 5 titanium drill bits to get through the steel. I know that sounds extreme but, how great is it to actually get a product that is really that sturdy. Great buy.

Great product! I decided to build my own barn ...

Great product! I decided to build my own barn door for my room because the opening is 48" and there was no way I was going to pay over $1,000 for a door! So I ordered this sliding barn door hardware and go for it. The picture shows one of the issues you might have with the predrilled holes on this item. They are spaced 16" apart which should be correct to hit the studs in the wall. But my house, or this wall, was not standard. So I added a 1"x8"x14' board and screwed it into all of the studs first. Then I did my best to anchor the sliding barn door hardware to as many studs as possible. And where they were missing, the header board provides the support. Haven't decided how I am going to finish the wood, but so far the project is $220. That is a bargain!

Very happy with this

This barn door rail and hardware was very sturdy and well-made. We had to cut the stainless steel bar a to fit exactly the width of the wall, and drilled some extra in hole order to fit the spacing of our studs. It was not easy since the rail is tough about 1/4” steel but we got it done with a metal cutting rotary saw blade. Had to add 2 extra washers since our doors were only 1 3/8” thick.

I've installed over 75 sets of barn doors - the Smart standard brand is consistent and easy to install. Make sure to tighten the stops well on the track. I wish they had a better solution for stronger stops to hold up over time.

Very high quality hardware. I have hanged a 48" barn door to it and it carries the weight well. Be aware that the track system on the floor will require you to cut a groove a the bottom of the door.

Quiet, smooth operation

I was a little unsure about this particular system however it's operation is extremely quiet and effortless. The hardware is attractive with straightforward installation and a nice addition to our home. We bought 2; one for the pantry and one for a bathroom entrance. We are pleased with the results!
