I absolutely LOVE this vacuum! We have two 100 lb Labs that shed non-stop. This Shark cleans up all their hair & dust so well. My husband thought I shampooed our living room carpet the first time I used it - and I had just vacuumed with our Bissell the day before! And it's also fantastic on our hard floors too! I was a bit nervous to spend almost $300 on a vacuum because the dog hair is so hard on vacuums, but so far it still runs like it's brand new. The ONLY thing I would change about the design is that the cannister is a bit smaller than I'd like. I have to empty it probably 2 - 3 times as often, but that wouldn't deter me from recommending to anyone.

Works great. Best part is how it cleans hard surfaces. Instead of kicking dirt out the back, it sucks it right up.

I purchased this model because of the supposed ease of cleaning the roller. Let me tell you, it more than met expectations. Between my cat and long-haired daughter, previous vacuum's roller was a nightmare to clean. This Shark's roller is visible from above (so you can see when it needs cleaning), pops out easily, and is a snap to clean with the built-in hair cutter. The roller even features a groove (see photos), so you can lift and cut the hair away. Well-thought-out design indeed! This model also has great suction, empties easily, effortlessly maneuvers around and under furniture (especially when using lift-away feature) ... and retrieves lost cat toys using the convenient under-appliance tool!

Hi guys just want to say I ordered the Shark DuoClean Powered Lift-Away Speed Upright , and I love it very easy to put together and let me tell you when I turned it on the first path it made across my carpet I knew I had a winner !!! I have two hairy cats and a big dog and it seems their goal in life is to see how much hair they can leave on the carpet !! My old Dyson sweeper you could sweep 1/2 hour in the same spot and still not pick up the hair !! One path with the Shark and it was GONE !! I LOVE IT THANKS GUY FOR THE AWSOME PRODOCT

So, i got it sooner than the estimated date. It went together quickly and easily. I used it for the first time today. I have a hyla that is awesome. I cleans like crazy; however, it is cumbersome. When I started using this one, I wondered how it would compare. So, this thing drives itself!! Yay. It fits everywhere. When you are vacuuming different floors, it has a switch on the handle that is so easy. It handles like a 360 mower. It swivels so nicely. It cleans right up to the front edge. It basically lays flat, and the roller stays in touch with the floor. It is a beast! So, glad i bought it.

This is my second one. I gave first one to my daughter. She loves it and I love it. It is light but very powerful. Swivel head is a little more wiggly than I am used to but it is great in corners. I like that it fits in smaller spaces than my Dyson. The low profile allows me to get under tables and around the toilets. I like that the cord is very long. However, keep vacuum away from cord or it will suck it up. I am 70 and weigh 110 pounds. It is easy for me to carry up and down the stairs. The only thing that I don't like is when you try to move it from floor to carpet. You can't tilt it and move it forward. You have to bring to upright position and then move it forward. Update: I have now had this for several months. It is a great vacuum cleaner. I wish the directions emphasized how to clean the roller brush. It is quite easy to do but it took me a while to figure out what was happening. The brush stops working about once a month. The air intake on the roller gets clogged easily (this is the little line of air holes in the front of the brush). Once the vacuum started making a weird high pitched noise when this happened. In addition the HEPA filter gets clogged easily as well.

I absolutely LOVE this vacuum. The Backstory: I agonized endlessly over whether to get this Shark DuoClean Lift Away or the Dyson Cinetic Animal (which costs a decent bit more, by the way). I even posted to Facebook looking for input because I was SO split between the two (The results from my Facebook friends, by the way, were as follows: A few Dyson fans, but overall, the response was much more in favor of Shark). I see a vacuum purchase as something that I plan on keeping a long time (10 years at least), so I didn't mind spending extra for one that would last. What I SO love about the Shark Duo-Clean Lift Away: 1. The steering/handling- Let me just tell you, this thing handles like a DREAM. The steering is flawless, it turns on a dime, it cozies up to edges with no problems. It even gets to the edges under my kitchen cabinets and gets all those little crumbs due to the low profile of the motorized head. 2. The flexibility- One of the things that sorely tempted me to get a Dyson was those commercials where it shows that skinny lady effortlessly disconnecting the wand and dusting up high, and all those fancy attachments. The Shark can do all that and more! (well, it hasn't made me skinny...) You can detach the long wand, or just the handle, and you can even attach the motorized head to the long wand to get under beds. It also comes with a motorized pet brush just like Dyson that works wonders on the pet hair that gets on my couch and the stairs. And with the Shark, not only can you detach the wand and handle (which the Dyson can also do), you can go into "lift away mode" and detach the canister body from the upright and carry it up the stairs (or wherever) making stair cleaning SO much easier. 3. The attachments: In the box, you get a crevice tool, a pet multi tool, a dusting brush, an under appliance tool, and the motorized pet tool. I have used all of them and they are all actually useful! I actually really love the dusting tool, its so easy to use it to dust blinds and ceiling fans by disconnecting the wand. 4. The DUOclean: Honestly, I was not convinced from the pictures that the second brush roll was some sort of revolutionary innovation that would really make this vacuum work better. BUT- I stand corrected. It really does work well. It does two things well- First, it removed the plastic front of the vacuum that usually goes all the way to the carpet and added a soft brush roll, which allows it to actually pick up larger particles (i.e., round cereal pieces, cat food, small legos) instead of just pushing them around in the front which most vacuums do. Second, it works WONDERS (wonders, I tell ya) on bare floors. It has sort of a polishing effect, and its also great for picking up dust and tiny particles on the floor. 5. The 3 floor modes: I love the I can control from the handle whether the brush rolls are in bare floor, deep pile, or short pile carpet. Great design. What my husband SO loves about the Shark DuoClean: The Brush Roll Garage and the Hair Cutting tool- Living with 3 long-haired girls, my husband has been doomed to constantly cutting long hairs that get wound around the brush bars on every.single.vaccum.we.have.ever.had. (Hey, I vacuum, he does the maintenance. It works for us!) Now, this vacuum doesn't make that problem go away exactly. However, it used to involve him having to turn our vacuum upside down and use a pair of scissors to try and reach in there to cut all the hairs off the bar. Shark, in their infinite wisdom, has included a brush roll garage, which essentially means that, from the top, you can remove a panel to get easy access to the brush rolls, and even snap them right out with ease. It also comes with a little hair cutting tool stored right in the vacuum by the brush roll. What a great innovation! I'm sure they didn't think of it first, but it's the first vacuum I've ever seen it on. Love it! Get this vacuum, you won't regret it. (By the way, I paid full price for this on Amazon)

So glad I bought this one! I have a Bissell, and it is a joke compared to this one's ease of use and power. The reason I decided a needed a new vacuum was because we had a Rainbow dealer come and demonstrate at our house. I learned that my current vacuum was worthless, and that my husband and I are not suckers for fancy sales pitches. I did the math. I could get a Rainbow at their asking price ($3,000) which has a 30 year life they said. Or, I could get one of these bad boys every two years (if needed), and get an upgraded model and everything, for about the same amount of money over the next thirty years. My four year old was even excited to use it! Lowes has them in my town for about $75 more than Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. I would recommend this vacuum to my friends and family. All this is coming from a woman who DESPISES cleaning. I have seen the light.

This is a great vacuum cleaner. I used it as soon as it arrived and it did a great job picking up what my Dyson (older cyclone) left behind a week earlier. It's light, and not real wide; so very easy to maneuver in tight areas. I am so happy to have a vacuum with a light on it again, my old Dyson didn't have one. There are three settings on it and the suction power for the high carpet is extremely powerful. I seen a review that stated and showed a picture of the shark's bin after vacuuming then a picture of what their Dyson picked up after that (they didn't state what setting they used on the Shark). I used the second setting on the Shark first and then the most powerful one after that, and the second pass looked like their Dyson's bin. I believe that one could vacuum a spot over and over again and continue to get more out - depending on how fast you go over the area, each time more dust will be pulled upward.

I paid full price and was not asked to review this product. So my Shark NV803 vacuum is in and Ive used it a few times to see if I liked it. As you all know I have 4 German Shedders who drop fur and sand like nobodies business. We are forever walking on sand even after vacuuming. Not once have I had a vacuum that picked up the fine dusty sand that is all over my floors. I had to dust mop after vacuuming and sweep it up into the dust pan. The NV803 is like an upright vacuum (not a fan of) BUT with the push of a button it becomes like a canister vacuum although you have to carry the canister part which is light. The dust bin on the vacuum is quite a bit smaller than my old Shark but it's big enough for me to vacuum fur and sand from the whole house. My other Shark gave me 2 complete vacuumings before emptying but I really should empty it each time...I can be a bit lazy. The size of the bin is not a deal breaker for me. It came with a few attachments....2 of which I really like. One is a crevice tool... who doesn't love those...but this one has a brush you can slide to the end. Used it on the vents and it worked quite well. The other tool is about 3 feet long for getting under low furniture like bookcases. I never had one of these...I make Stan move that stuff a few times a year (I know gross) but now I look forward to getting under there without moving that stuff. I have not tried it yet but I'm confident it will fit under anything that is 1 inch tall. (A month later I have tried it....love love it. It gets under my washer and dryer no problem!) The vacuum head will fit under anything 5 inches or taller. It has a really good light on it which shows EVERYTHING on the floor. It does take me longer to vacuum being I see way more stuff than without the light. The vacuum head has no problems fitting under the cupboards. I do wish the vacuum head was a bit wider only cause it now takes me longer to vacuum. This vacuum works wonders on laminate, tile and carpet. It picks up dog nail clippings and kibble without the need to chase them down and hover over them to get em. It just sucks them up. As for sand...That alone has sold me on this vacuum. For the first time ever, there is no gritty sand left after vacuuming. On the tile, the sand would settle in the grout lines and I would have to target it with my old one to get it. This one just sucks it up. It pulls the dog hair away from the base boards without a hitch. I was afraid the dog hair would wrap in that soft roller but it was a needless worry. It had no problem handling tumble weeds the size of melons. I don't normally let the tumble weeds get that big but I did want to test this vac. On carpet I was very surprised! Really pulled the sand and hair out of it. I put it on Shag setting for my runner carpers and it vacuumed very well without it trying to eat the runner. So thats it! I love it altho a larger dust bin...larger vacuum head and a dimmer light would make it the PERFECT vacuum. Honestly though, its the best vacuum I have ever owned....even better by far than my dyson. This DuoClean technology is just what has been needed for us pet owners. Having had this now for a month, I want to add that the swiveling power head gets into tight places easily. It is also unparalleled for vacuuming up kitty litter. For the first time ever, I actually use the attachments being they are stored out of the way but very handy to get. None of them have fallen off yet. I did get another set of filters. I do clean the filter weekly but that’s expected with 4 dogs and tons of sand.
