We ordered two sets first, one for each kitchen stool at the island. Then we ordered six more sets - one for each dining room chair. The original sets lasted for nine years!!! We aren't sure they are from the same manufacturer, but the quality felt is thicker so they should last at least that long. They are very easy to install. All you need is a hammer. (If you are removing a prior set, as we did, you will need a screw driver with a flat head to pry the old set off first - easy!!!) Nails are not needed. The discs have small circular pieces of sharp metal which are meant to be hammered right into the base of the chair leg. Just center the disc, hold it in place lightly, and hammer it into the chair leg bottom. Price is right. Great way to protect a hard wood floor, laminate, or just good old fashioned linoleum. Don't hesitate to purchase these.

Installed new vinyl clad flooring. Told to use pads on legs of my table and chairs. These went in fine. Circular 'nail' has a sharp edge. Using a hammer I was afraid I would break the plastic disk it is molded into. I guess pounding on the felt disc softened the blow enough. Item will not install on legs that are hollow at the ends. The nail is a ring 11/32" in diameter and 3/16" high. Plastic support disc is 3/32" thick and 1 7/16" in diameter. The felt disc is 5/32" thick and 1 1/4" in diameter. Item will add 1/4" to height of what it attached to.

These are felt, hence to be used to protect hard-surface floors. They stay put. They slide nicely on hardwood. They protect the hardwood floor from scratches and gouges caused by the chair legs. Do not get these if your chairs are on carpeted floors - they will not slide on rugs. They will not nail on if your chair legs are not solid wood. For chairs with solid wood legs that are used on hardwood floors, these are the best I've found. The felt does wear and these will need to be replaced after a while, but they last a fair amount of time. Your mileage may vary depending on how frequently your chairs are used and how smooth your floor is.

After refinishing an antique kitchen table and chairs set, which rests on my hard wood floors, I knew I wanted to protect the floors as well as the feet of the chairs with felt pads. The local hardware store only offered the stick-on type, which, with 5 children and a dog in the house quickly began to come loose and leave sticky residue on my floors. I found these on amazon and thought I’d give them a try. I’m extremely pleased with the quality. They are simple to use, and hammer easily into the bottoms of the chair feet.ive has them on for almost 2 months and thecfelt is still in great shape. When dust or dog hair accumulated on them, I simply wipe my hand across them and the are good as new. This set also comes with multiple wives which I loved as I was able to also put them on my living room wing chairs! Well made! Durable! A great value!

These felt pads are the best pads possible for your chairs. glue on pads fall off within days even with extra strength glue. plastic glides wear down and ruin marble and wood floors. These are the way to go!! Totally brilliant way to secure the felt onto your chairs. It is all one piece: a felt pad adhered onto a plastic disc which has a small round cookie cutter extension. It is not a nail!!! ...it is a round piece of metal that goes into the wood on the bottom of the chair leg with 2-3 taps of the hammer. works so fabulously well I am inserting them into all my chair legs! wish they would make bigger packages. they need to re-name it from "nail-on".

I had such a hard time finding good felt pads for my wooden chairs because the legs are smaller than 1 inch in diameter. I was always buying the round felt stick on pads and cutting them a little. They would only last a couple of months at a time before needing to be replaced. Finally, after re-doing my floor, I got fed up and decided to spend a little extra and buy these. I'm so glad I did, they are the perfect size for my leg chairs, they were easy to put on with a hammer (they only go in the wood a small amound so I'm not worried about damaging the chairs at all) and so far they work perfectly and seem like they will last a long time.

Okay, where have these been all my life? I have a dining room set with lots of chairs. We recently had our hardwood floors beautifully refinished and I was determined not to let what happened before to them happen again. Before, every chair had two sets of scratch marks on the floors. I tried those awful light brown stick on ones and after about a month, they came off. So, I stuck them back on with super glue, figuring I'd tricked them, but they started coming off again. Not only did they come off, but a sticky residue came off on our floors and was torture to get off. So, I went looking for a solution. I thought these were priced a bit high, but when I read the reviews, there were several who'd mentioned the same thing I'd gone through with the sticky residue and I knew I had to buy them. I can't begin to say how pleased I am with these pads. They go on super easily. I had each chair done in about 30 seconds (that includes pulling off the old pads and plastic pads that came with the chairs. For those who are confused about the "nail", there are no nails with this. It's a pad that is fused to a base and then the base has a 1/4" or so diameter circle that gets hammered into the wood on the chair leg. Goes in super easy and stays put. Put them on and forget about it, they're not coming off. Highly recommend.

These things are awesome! I had seen them before, but kept scrolling past them thinking that they wouldn't work on my Coaster Furniture Dining Room Chairs. This time I stopped and read some reviews and finally understood that THE METAL CYLINDER IS THE 'NAIL' referenced in the product name. So, I ordered enough for 6 chairs (plus some extras), yanked the sticky felt pads off the bottom of the wood chair legs and easily tapped these on to each leg. I wish I had discovered these years ago! Don't make the same mistake I made. You'll save money from constantly replacing the stick-on pads and time from having to carefully clean the adhesive off of your floors, not to mention saving your floors from the scratches when the felt pads wear out or slide off. Just get them!

Second time buying these. They worked so well the first time, I bought them for another set of chairs. They true to the advertised size and easy to attach with a couple hammer taps. Great way to save ware and tare on the hardwood floors.

Easy to put on, and stay put. The stick-on type of pads always fall off and leave the bottom of the chair legs goopy. Before I bought these I tried a nail-on version that had little nails on the bottom, but those didn't hammer into the wooden legs of my chair-- they got bent out of shape. These are just right.
