This is the one you want
This pineapple corer is the one you want to buy. It cost a little more than other made of lesser materials but is a much better tool. Avoid the plastic ones. They do not have the durability you need... break easily. There are other cheaper and lighter weight metal ones but again you should pay a little more and get one that you don't have to worry about breaking. This one has much heavier metal, much better welds, a handle that is sturdy enough to last and the heavier metal means metal that can be sharpened to work better and last. The only problem I've had is the same you have with all of these... cleaning. Getting the core out of the center piece after use needs to be done with some care. I've found my knife sharpening steel rod is great for shoving the core out of the cutter. I then put mine in the bottom rack of my dishwasher, set upright on one of the longer plate holder rods... and it comes out nice and clean. GREAT TOOL Buy this one even though it costs a little more... you get what you pay for.

One happy pineapple eater.
I had been looking for a product such as this but after reading the reviews, I decided not to get one. I looked again this week and this one was "upgraded" so I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I am surprised at the feel of quality that it has. I am more than happy with the performance and the ease of operation. Also, I received an email today with an attached operational video. How neat is that and what good customer service. With all of that being said, I highly recommend this pineapple corer to anyone that has a need.

Great little gadget
Works just as described. I was a little leery of buying this but I was eating a lot of pineapple on weight watchers and I hated the pineapple prep. I have to say this gadget makes it so easy! If you get started crooked, the blade will start coming out the side of the pineapple. Just pull it out, remove the slices, and start again. Depending on the pineapples shape, you may want to finish the inside of the pineapple with a knife. Still beats peeling the rind off all of it! I've used this device many times and I'm satisfied with the quality so far.

Works as advertised solid build easy to clean
Oh my this works quite well. The instructions are not that thorough they give you approximately nine diagrams showing from the start to the end result. Basically you cut off the flower stem of the pineapple approximately an inch deep. Put the pineapple Turner device right over the core push down slightly and just turn clockwise. The tricky part is knowing how far to go down what I did was I just kept turning the device slowly as I approached the bottom of the pineapple and tried to pull up on the device. eventually it pulls right out leaving the core on the inside of the pineapple and the pineapple circles are uniform and perfect. If you've ever haven't used one of these devices cutting a pineapple is a chore. Not any longer.

Finally! A quick easy way.
OMG! Why did I take so long to get one of these? I would typically spend 2 or 3 minutes slicing up a pineapple and I LOVE pineapple so its pretty common for me. Now, I can do it in 30 seconds, and that was the first time not knowing what I was doing or what to expect. I suspect I'll have this down to 10 seconds on the next go round. Love IT! Oh, BTW, it is sturdy and seems like it should last a while.

Works great for me
I’ve read negative comments about how it doesn’t work and how it wastes product but I’ve had no issues at all. Periodically, when I get a wider pineapple mostly, there are instances where some extra does get left on the sides. But guess what? It’s not the end of the world. Simply cut the now-pineapple shell in half and then half again and you can run a knife down along the inside (kinda like filleting it) and you get any leftovers. It’s easy and quick. Cleanup is a breeze: simply rinse and lightly scrub immediately after use and everything comes right off (same as with any kitchen tool). Overall, I love this thing and use several times a week as we love pineapple at our house.

Sturdy and works perfectly
I was trying to decide between this product, the OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Ratcheting Pineapple Slicer with Depth Guide, and buying nothing. OXO, because they generally make well designed tools, and it might be worth paying a few dollars more (in this case, $10 more, which is double) for the ratcheting action it adds to the conventional design. Also considered buying nothing, because how many kitchen gadgets can one own before it becomes overwhelming? I've probably reached that point long ago. There's something to be said about minimalism, and making do with what you have. You could cut a pineapple with a paring knife in a pinch - the skin is fairly soft. I went with this "Newness Ongoing" generic overseas brand, after seeing the 'before/after' image of its construction. I liked the dangling of the possibility of something separating this from the all the other generics flooding Amazon these days. The steel is thick and sturdy, and the teeth and cutting edges are sharp enough to make short work of a pineapple. Like any other pineapple corer, there's a spiral blade to allow you to twist your way through the fruit, and a removable handle to make it easier to clean and remove any core that might get lodged inside. This makes cutting pineapples so much easier. And allows you to cut a pineapple in a way that leaves the shell intact, so you can serve drinks or sorbet or what have you, out of it.

Makes cutting up pineapple soooooo much easier!
This thing is awesome! Works really well. Makes cutting up a pineapple much easier. Two little quirks or trade-offs - you have to find a pineapple that is bigger than the diameter of its cutting end. Generally no big deal, most pineapples (at least that we get on the west coast) seem pretty standardly/uniformly sized. Second quirk - the core of the pineapple ends up, by design, in the center tube of the corer. To get the core out of the tube you need to either spear it with a fork and try to pull it out, or take off the black plastic handle (which is really easy to do) and push the pineapple core out of the tube with the end of a spoon or something flat. But - its worrth it because you get a spiral of evenly cut pineaple. Just cut the spiral in half if you need to to get it off the corer and then cut the spiral rings into chunk. Whole operation takes about 2 minutes. just awesome!

Easy and perfect slices. Doesnt work on larger sized pineapples
Very easy to use and worked well. Con: I buy my pineapples from Costco so there was a lot of waste as the pineapple is larger than usual. I will probably hand cut my pineapples from Costco.

Love my Pineapple Shakes!!!
I really love my pineapple corer!! It’s nice & sharp. I’ve read some of the reviews about it leaves some pineapple meat. With a big fat pineapple yes. But it doesn’t take much effort to slice it off. The product is great!!
