Size matters!

My old mantel clock needed a new movement but the Shen Bang HD-1688 movement was no where to be found. After carefully measuring the 1688 I found the Youngtown 12888 Snap In to be of very similar size. So I prayed and ordered it. It arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. I couldn't use the hands provided (they were much too long) but I was able to install my old hands and the fit was nearly perfect. So good that it indeed did work perfectly and I am extremely pleased. The moral is to measure several times (preferably with digital calipers) and read all the fine print and one of the Youngstown movements are sure to fit.

Great product

I was kind of partial to my existing office wall clock. When it stopped working after 10 years I shopped but could not find another one that I liked as well. I decided to try replacing the motor and took a chance on this product. I was not disappointed. My clock is working again and swapping out the mechanism was very easy. I highly recommend this product. I give it five stars.

Great product. Actually keeps time more accurately than the one it replaced. Unfortunately for me, the diameters of the shafts differed from my original movement, so I could not use my clock's hands and had to use the ones (too ornate) supplied with this movement, which I also had to shorten to fit. Funny, since the Model# 12888 was the same as my old one. My problem, however, is not the fault of this Seller. I should not have assumed anything and should have measured.

Perfect replacement works GREAT

My wife had a clock in on her make up vanity for years. On day i noticed that it was missing when I asked her she stated that it stopped working so she put it in the drawer. It had a movement in it that I searched the internet for but the company was no longer around or at least I could never find it. I checked this unit out and for the price I was willing to take a chance. It fit perfect the existing hands also fit I was her hero ( well at least for a short time ) It has returned to its place on her make up vanity and keeps perfect time. I would recommend this little unit to anyone who maybe looking for a replacement. The bad part is I tossed the old one prior to writing this review, I do remember it had "bang" as part the name (sorry)

Works great. Many versions of this item around. You must measure the shaft length for a replacement to repair a clock. Mine has a smooth second hand where the one I replaced had a stepping second hand. I have it in a three clock housing to show time zones for my Ham radio hobby. I had to put the replacement as the center clock so the movement action of the second hand would not look too strange. These little units keep time very well.

Works OK.

Hands were a little long for my application, but some wire cutters and a little super glue solved it. This company has MANY different iterations of the movement but all have the same part number. VERY confusing.

Fixed my 25 yr old wall clock.

I was so sad when my 25 yr old Seiko clock started going faster and faster. No matter how I tried to adjust it I had to face it, it was over. Then I looked at the back and checked on Amazon for replacement works. Found this set and ordered. It just took a few in to replace the works and I did have to use the new hands as the old ones didn`t work. Happy to say it is up and running.

This movement was exactly what I wanted. It fit perfectly and has a quiet constant sweep second hand. I replaced the old movement which was a one click per second movement. I received it quickly and it came well boxed and protected.

I have a small, heavy, square crystal piece that holds a quartz clock. The clock quit working after about 10 years, and I wanted to keep using it, because it's so pretty, small and practical to place wherever you need to see time. This Youngtown clock replacement is the perfect size, and it works just fine. I couldn't use the lovely clock hands that came with it, as they are too long to fit into my crystal holder, but I easily and carefully placed my existing hands on the new clock shaft. MAKE SURE TO GET THE CORRECT DEPTH (length) OF SHAFT TO FIT YOUR CLOCK HOLDER. I am pleased with my purchase.
