This kit had everything needed to get our plants started in a every eco-friendly way. I was missing two plant identifying markers, but I cut the two I had in half and wrote the plant names on them. Hopefully we'll have seedlings in 6-8 weeks. I was very happy that the company sent a follow-up e-mail with detailed information about germination and growth of the plants. The pots are biodegradable and can be planted in a larger pot when the time comes w/o removing the seedlings.

I got this for my mom for Christmas because she loves to garden and really wants to create a fabulous garden this next summer. FABULOUS gift idea - she was sooooo excited to receive such an cool, all include kit to jump-start her garden this spring. ********JUST KNOW THAT SEEDS NEED TO BE REFRIGERATED FOR 90 DAYS BEFORE PLANTING*****. I would be sad if someone got ready to plant these seeds and then learned they have to wait for three more months to use them - then the season would be over.

This is an excellent kit. Before getting to the kit review, I must first say that a big reason for the 5 stars is due to their customer service. I ruined the instructions that came with it through my own clumsiness. I sent a message to the seller directly and received a response incredibly quickly with an electronic version of the instructions. I have found them to be very friendly and very responsive. The instructions are clear, and I planted 4 seeds of each reserving the remainders for a second round if any failed to germinate. Germination can be a tricky beast. I was waiting to write my review until I had either successfully germinated all varieties, or if one or more failed to wait to see how customer support would handle it. All 4 have sprouted at least 1 plant now, and I used less than half of the seeds so I can do a second round and have even more plants. I read several reviews that reported mold as a major problem. Please note that the potting material is organic material and will mold if left alone. Like bread, fruit, etc., etc. given time and the right conditions any potting soil will mold. I had great luck with mine keeping the pots in an area with diffused sun all day, good ventilation, and misted with water only when needed. One additional old-school tip for preventing mold: sprinkle a (very!) small amount of cinnamon on the surface after planting the seeds. It is a natural anti-fungal. And check the soil at least daily and simply lightly rub off any apparent mold with a fingertip when you see it. EDIT: More photos, additional comments. The plants are doing great. The Jacaranda is growing like a weed. All plants have at least started the first set of "real" branches. Zero mold issues, and apparently I can't stop the Bristlecone Pine from sprouting. I already removed one sprout. I can not stress how great this kit is!

Killed the first batch (forgot to water). Killed a second (accidentally used contaminated water). Now on the third batch from the same kit and they still pop up fast and in days. It seems they've forgiven me for killing their brethren.

Finally! I took the plunge and decided to get a kit for a hobby that has always intrigued me. I wouldn't consider myself to have a green thumb, but I've been able to maintain a few potted plants in my apartment and love the idea of bonsai. What I loved about this kit: -It included everything in the description (I know some mentioned a missing manual, but mine contained a colored pamphlet with all of the instructions to get started). -Getting set up was a breeze. I soaked the seeds in water and found the peat discs very easy to moisturize. They expanded into just the right amount of soil to fill up the biodegradable pots. This was all that was required! -The kit is wonderfully designed. It looks great in the box that has illustrations on it. Would be perfect as a gift item. What I didn't love about the kit: -I just want to point out that this provides just enough information to get the seeds in the ground. The manual doesn't have any information on what to do after your trees begin sprouting. I'd highly recommend checking out a few books on Amazon for down the road when pruning becomes more important.

I have ADHD so of course I couldn't wait the 90 day germination period. I used germination trays with the soil from the package and planted the seeds. I fully expected to most likely not get any results since I didn't follow the instructions. However, 2 weeks later the seeds are sprouting. I don't recommend not following the instructions, but go ahead and ignore them if you live dangerously like me (just kidding).

I was skeptical at first but I did get seedlings from all four species. About 60% germination rate from seeds of Pinus and Picea, 30% from Jacaranda and Delonix. I repotted them and all the seedlings look pretty happy. Delonix is the tricky one. The seeds were in the soil for 3 months without any sign of life while the other 3 species were growing well. I almost wanted to trash them (and give a 3-star review) then my partner made a last try by sawing the outer shells with a jagged kitchen knife. The attempt failed because the shells were extremely hard. We put them back to the pot and they enlarged dramatically (2-3 times) and germinated in the next 3 days. So I guess sawing did the trick! If your Delonix seeds seem dead, try sawing them a bit. But be careful, don't cut your fingers!

Bought these to grow herbs for my bunny. Was hesitant on the previous reviews about how some of the herbs never sprouted, but all 5 have been growing for me! I'm so excited. Honestly follow the instructions and it'll be worth it. Sage and parsley did take a while to finally sprout.. but so glad they did, I keep them on the kitchen window for sunlight and air, water them once a day to keep moist. Easiest plants to grow for beginners. I will buy again!

Updated Review: After hearing about concern the seller reached out to me and informed me of a little issue at their end where mistakenly small soil pellets were placed in these packages and they did immediately pulled those back but as my luck has it, I got one of those. The AMZStuff were really helpful and they asked me to buy a new kit and provided a 100% coupon beforehand so that I don't pay twice for the same stuff. I had few questions as well regarding the kit and they answered all of it in great details. If this kit turns out well, I am definitely going to get more. Previous Review: I received this sow and grow kit today and was super excited to start my kitchen garden. I followed the instructions as mentioned to prep the soil but the soil is way too less to fill the pots. The peats given did expand after putting hot water to 4-5 times but not more than that even after 15-20 min. I mashed the soil and when put in the pots it hardly filled 1/4th of it. I had to use 3 peats to get half of two pots which is very disappointing. Just to be sure am doing things right I checked a YouTube tutorial and could see the soil peats in other kits were pretty big and it looked like they would fill the pots. Alongwith this the seeds were incorrectly labelled, I know how cilantro and sage seeds look like that's how I saw but I don't know how other seeds looked so I had Google them just to make sure I don't follow incorrect pre requisites before sowing seeds. I would have definitely given 5 stars if these were not the issues. If the seeds don't sprout that would be just my bad luck.

What can I say, I just don't have a knack with plants. They see me coming and wilt. I'd love to have a garden on our little terrace but I'm afraid of what will happen to the poor little seedlings. But I have a 4yo who fell in love with gardening when visiting her grandma so I knew I needed to find a solution. I was super excited to discover these kits. It looked easy and pretty much like they would plant and grow themselves! Just so you know it's a process that takes a couple of days. First you have to soak the seeds, it said 16-24 hours, we ended up waiting a few days since we didn't have time and by then they were sprouting nicely. Then you have to "grow" the dirt. It's actually pretty cool, there are these little docs that look like hockey pucks, you soak them in hot water and poof! They grow into potting soil. So we potted, planted the seeds and there are even cute little markers so we know what's growing. Important to note - if growing veggies you will eventually need to get a bigger planter or have a garden so they can grow. I missed this part so now I can only pray that my mother in law's green thumb was passed down to my daughter :)
