Works exactly as advertised. Good image, not high def. No driver necessary with Windows 7 if you use the webcam feature of Windows Movie Maker, so I did not use the software that came with the unit. A dial on the USB connection at the computer adjusts the level of the LED lights. Note that this camera has a fixed focal length, focus is adjusted by changing the camera distance from the object being viewed. I did not test the water resistance of this item, but if I were to use this in a wet environment I would add some heat shrink tubing to seal.

Worked perfectly on XP and W8.1. On W8.1, I had to install the s/w but on XP, I just clicked on the device (Scanners and Cameras) and it came up. I put it down 10 ft of black drain pipe using a wire snake and the LEDs were bright enough to show me the obstruction. I did not get it wet. I recommend wrapping tape around the bottom of the case and the USB cable because this can loosen allowing the camera to slip to the back of the case. Bargain price, worked great!

Be warned though, what you find when snaking this through a pipe may put you off eating for awhile. The BEST way to use this, if there are no RA bends in the pipe, is to tape it to a Fish Tape. The cable itself won't go far down the pipe or vent unless it's a straight drop. I don't recommend taping it to an auger though, unless you wanna wreck your camera right away. I hooked it up to my phone (make sure your phone is able to use USB drivers though) also to my tablet and laptop - all without a problem. Like the other reviews will tell you, the focus is in the distance from the camera to the object. Closer - better focus (too close and you get nothing though).

I love this tool. I needed to see in my bathtub drain to see where the clog was and I was able to find it then use a drain auger to free up the clog. Buy this camera if you like a helpful tool. I will be purchasing a couple more to give as presents to my family and friends.

I just don't understand what are all the negative reviews for? The camera came on time and the product is up to the spec. It is indeed waterproof, we used it to check out our clogged pool lines and the lens did not become wet or foggy. The lights are very bright, but we still had to wait for a dark to be able to see anything on the laptop screen. However, it is not camera's fault, the screen is dim in the sunlight, and I can't even read documents on it, let alone view a video. Thanks to this little camera we were able to find a kink in the pipe and save ourselves a ton of money on the plumber that didn't even want to come to inspect the pipes with his camera for a charge of $150. My suggestion - before starting using it, please read the instructions, it helps sometimes :-)

This is one of those things that, once in awhile, you really want to have. This one is exactly what I was looking for, with the right features, extremely simple operation, and everything works as advertised. The length is long enough to do most of the things you might want to do with your car or around the house. Much longer and you would probably need a more rigid cable to be able to coax it out to full length, which might be a problem with shorter, tighter areas. The adjustable focus is great, and the adjustable light is perfect. The included software was trivial to use, but the camera works fine with other software too. I did not try the waterproof feature yet.

Flat out this is a cheep and indispensable tool for anyone that needs to fix anything in a home or car. Trust me on this one. This one is great for small house hold jobs or working on your auto like me. But it has helped me fix a water heater leak a hidden oil leak on my car. A blockage in the clothing dryer. I will buy one that is 50 ft long just to make sure I can cover everything around the house and the pipes hooked to it. It is shocking just how clear you can see with this little thing. Well it is your call. The program that comes with it is easy to use but you are not told much about it and how it works you have to play with it some.

Not meant for professional use, but a great "toy" for those who enjoy exploring different video formats. Item arrived on time and exactly as described. The LED's for lighting came on nearly instantly when the USB was plugged in, and for my system (Win 7 Home Premium), it almost seemed like I did not need the software included on the CD-ROM for the camera to work (but probably needed to record video). It seemed like the software included was both the original version (as mentioned in the directions) and the updated software. The best focus range seemed to be between 1 to 2 inches from the lens, which is really meant for its purpose. I even attached a USB extension and it still works great, plus the USB extension allows you to control the variable LED light intensity. The only apparent drawback I've noticed is that the LED lighting does cause some glare to reflect back to the camera lens. Fortunately that can be fixed by simply lowering the light intensity. Worth the low cost, even if only for a gadget-toy for video enthusiasts. It even works as an additional webcam for my laptop, which already has a built-in webcam. A tip: Set up a folder for saving the videos you capture right away so you know where to find them.

Decent camera for the price. I have not used it much. I saw this and thought it would be cool to have. Maybe someday I will have a real need for it. I don't think I would trust it being water proof. I have not tried it in water so I really can not say if it would hold up under water. If you needed to look inside a wall or a tight place this would work. You are not getting a high def camera so if that is what you want you will have to look somewhere else and pay out the nose for it.

Works as advertised. Great for close up inspection. It doesn't do so good long range, distance. But, it wasn't designed for that. I had a septic problem that the plumber diagnosed as "needing a new septic tank". Using this tool connected to my laptop, I found a restricted "black iron" 4" out flow pipe from the toilet to the tank. There was only about 2" due to corrosion/buildup. My home was built in 1954. Black iron tends to "grow" inside after many years of use. I rented a commercial plumbing auger with a cutter head and let the water run in the tub while I cleaned the pipe. It has been perfect ever since.
