I was very skeptical about using the dental gel . But after trying this for about 30 days I can't believe the difference . I have a 14 year old whippet rescue and his teeth were horrible . The tartar has broken up and come off of his teeth with my fingernails it's amazing how well this works . You have to be persistent and use it daily or even twice a day but it will do the trick .

I got tired of paying the ridiculous prices for the CET brand of enzymatic dog toothpaste and was looking for a more affordable option. After finding this toothpaste, I went to my Vet to ask their opinions on it, and if it’s safe for dogs. They confirmed that Vet’s Best makes pretty solid products and this toothpaste looks to be good, so I went ahead and order some to try. So far it’s seemed to work just fine. I have a 3-year old yellow lab and he is well adjusted to having his teeth brushed. He hasn’t had any issues with this toothpaste so far. I know that some users on Amazon have complained that certain brands of toothpaste make their dog vomit, or that their dogs don’t like the taste of it; well I haven’t had either of those issues. I do however wonder if some of those people complaint’s are more a result of improper bushing which causes their dog to gag then puke, instead of being a direct result of the toothpaste.... So I just try to take people’s reviews with a grain of salt. This toothpaste doesn’t seem to have any scent to speak of really. I know some of the CET brand toothpastes I’ve used in the past can often have a very off putting odor when brushing (especially the poultry or fish flavored toothpaste!). So I guess I’m rather relieved that this toothpaste doesn’t have any odor which is nice. I also really appreciate the fact that it’s more inexpensive when compared to other options that are out there, and the fact that the Vet’s best gives you a 3.5 oz tube which is more than CET brand. I believe CET are only 2.5oz tubs. So that’s a nice bonus. So far, I would recommend this product, especially if you’re like me and simply find the concept of spending 2-4x more on a tube of dog toothpaste compared to human toothpaste rather unpalatable (no pun intended)! But honestly, the thought of spending more money on my dog’s toothpaste than I spend on my own is just ridiculous! There’s no need for it, and it’s just the pet industry sticking it to us pet lovers. It’s needs to stop.

I have two dogs. One is a little over 1 year old. The other one is a 10 year old mediun size female I rescued recently. Therefore, I knew very little of her history. I did, however, knew right away that her teeth were is desperate need of brushing. I had extra arm & hammer enzymatic toothpaste in hand, but was going to need more soon. I have used other products from this brand and thought it will work well based on the ingredients listed. Her gums and teeth were irritate due to the tartar build up and two of this ingredients are supposed to help with inflammation, which was my basis for purchasing it. I used this toothpaste along side water additives and her gums and teeth look and smell much better! If you have concerns about the aloe vera and dogs please do a quick search by the Seattle times publication on the matter. Which state that is not aloe vera gel or juice that's toxic but another substance in the leaf. So if you have the actual plant then be concerned. There were also concerns in regards to the potential that it caused cancer which have also been cleared from the commercial products as they do not use the whole leaf. If you use whole leafs not just the aloe gel the worry.

LOVE! I have two springers whos teeth were getting bad- to the point where I was about to pay big $$ to get them done at dentist - I started using this and brushing their teeth every other day - oh snap this works magic - most of their plaque is gone already!! Great price and nice size bottle, I thought that it would be too small but I have been using it a lot already and still have a ton in the bottle!

After one time use I can see a difference in my dog's teeth. She doesn't like to chew hard dental bones so it's a struggle to keep her teeth clean.

My poor adopted dog came to us with a mouthful of problems. This doesn't reverse the bad that already existed, but it makes the bad manageable. The formula is soothing to her irritated teeth and gums, helps eliminate tartar build up for easier cleaning, and has significantly improved her bad breath.

I will start this review by saying that my dog absolutely hates having her teeth brushed. She also hates the flavor of every single other toothpaste I've tried. Peanut butter, chicken, beef, peppermint, unflavored. You name it, she's tried it and despised it! The reason I turned to this brand was because I was out of my usual, and her plaque build-up (she never had her teeth cleaned in the 9 years before I got her) requires daily maintenance. I liked the ingredients, because she's a very sensitive epileptic pup. I also loved the idea of the toothbrush, because anything that shortens the amount of time I spend fighting this dog is good all around. First off, I'll say that she surprisingly doesn't mind the taste of this one. She'll let me rub it on her gums or put some directly on her tongue with no protest. This does not make her like toothbrushing anymore, and I've accepted that she will just never enjoy it. Secondly, I love this triple headed toothbrush so much. Seriously, the first time I used it I was so excited to reach all sides of her teeth that I teared up a little. It's cut the amount of time I spend trying to brush my dog's teeth DRAMATICALLY, and as a result she's been more tolerant. I of course don't use this by itself; my dog has a water additive, a foaming mouthwash, and an antiseptic gel in her daily routine. But I have still noticed a significant difference between the performance of this brand and the C.E.T. brand my vet provided me. Her breath is starting to smell better, and plaque seems to soften considerably faster. With this and my dental scraper I might just finally get her teeth under control! Maybe.

I've been using and testing this gel out on my dogs for several months and it's doing a very nice job with keeping their teeth clean. I also like that the price point is very reasonable. However, I do think they need to find a softer squeeze bottle, or maybe create a pump top. The bottle is really hard to work with. What I had to do was use a pump from another product that I had bought, and used up, and this solved my issue with trying to get the product out.

This product saved our Yorkies remaining 7 teeth. She was 8 years old when we started using it every single day. She had already lost all of her teeth but those 7. I had used other products prior to finding this one, I'm so thankful to have found it. Our Yorkie lived until she was 17 without loosing one more tooth. I also love the fact that it's natural. I want to send my gratitude to all those that created this product and only wish you all could find a product that would keep our best friends alive for double their normal life expectancy. We miss our little pumpkin!!!

Must be good tasting because our senior rescue who never had brushing likes it.
