The best case for a klutz like me

This is the only case I buy now. New phone, first step is getting a spigen tough or slim armor. Super easy to put on, but mostly, the best protection you can buy without literally doubling the size of your phone. I am a huge klutz, and I drop my phone all the time. I bought one of these when I had my s5 and s6, and never once was there any damage to the phone from being dropped, even on sidewalk concrete. I even got one for my husband's iphone 6 and 7, and I plan to get one for his next iphone as well. I got one for my mom when she upgraded to the galaxy note 5. I told the people in t-mobile they should carry this brand (the 18 year old girl handling my upgrade was nice to humor me - "we'll get right on that, crazy lady"). I wish they paid me for all the recommendations they get out of me. The only complaint would be that I loved the teal blue color I had for my s6, and i wasnt particularly thrilled with the colors available for the s8, but that's such a minor thing i don't think it should affect my star rating of this product.

I would absolutelt recommend this case to anyone looking.

I've had this case for a couple of months now and not only is it extremely light and thin, it's held up perfectly through drops, even the face down ones, and there's no sign of fading from constantly being in and out of my pockets. It barely added any bulk to my phone, which was very important to me. I was also worried that the rubber front and siding would make it more difficult to get in and out of my pocket, but it isn't tacky at all and actually makes the case more comfortable to hold. It was important to me to have a very reliable case because I have a toddler that loves to hold my phone, but also loves to throw things. Although there are a few scratches on the coloring by now, it's saved my phone countless times. I got the rose gold and I love it. It's very subtle, not too bold. I would absolutely recommend this case to anyone looking.

Dropped going over 100 mph

So I bought a S6 Edge from a 3rd party and it came with this brands case. Normally I don't like cases because they tend to feel bulky but I kept this one on the phone for whatever reason. Anyway, I was riding my motorcycle one day and my phone came out of my pocket. I was going very fast but I was able to see this phone hit the road. I mean this thing bounced several times. I turned around to pick up the pieces and maybe save the motherboard to recover my pictures. To my surprise and Im not making this up, the phone was not only in one piece and working but it literally only had a little spiderweb crack at the bottom of the back panel. I couldn't believe it!!! I HIGHLY recommend this case (it came apart but I found the pieces except for the little kickstand). Bulk wise, its not bad. Its not as bad as the popular brand but I can honestly say, this thing will seriously protect your phone. Especially if you put a plastic or tempered glass on your phone as well.

The real deal without the crazy bulk you think you need

I purchased this case (everyday use) and a super slim case for elegant attire (suits, tux, etc...). I recently left my phone in this Spigen case on the bumper of my firetruck and told myself to not forget it. Of course, I ended up forgetting it and drove off with it still on the bumper. It ended up sliding off and tumbling into the street about a quarter mile up the road from the firehouse. Upon my search for it on the way back from the call using find my Samsung, I found it in the middle of the road with all kinds of dings, dongs and scratches from the tumble but there was NOT ONE scratch or crack on the phone itself which really surprised me. What also impressed me was that the outer shell that keeps soft shell snug did not pop off and stayed "glued" to it! I've been using Urban Armor Gear for a few years and they are great, but Spigen is up there with them, if not better since they have convenient features such as a kickstand for the airplane. I posted a few photos below of the case after the tumble.

Highly functional. More than just protective.

I got this for my mom's phone since her Galaxy S8 is quite slippery by itself (like most phones these days). It fit nicely and feels firm and has already kept her phone intact in a few accidental drops and falls on hard floor already. This case is really great and looks exactly as pictured. I'm a fan of the flexible interior of the case with the hard colored outer case. I think the flexible TPU is way better than cases with only a hard exterior, but wanted a smooth back to stick accessories on. We put a ring on the upper back of the hard case which sticks great. And in between the TPU interior and hard case exterior we put a hidden metal square so it can be mounted to magnets in the car while driving. Definitely recommend this product and would get again for a different phone model. Another thing to note at least with the Galaxy S8 is that this case will cover up all of your device's color. So it doesn't matter what color S8 you got...when you pick a case color, this is going to be the 'color' of your phone.

Sturdy, great color, easy to install, works perfectly

Love love this cover. Extremely easy to put on and easily fits with the additional screen protector glass I purchased. The Samsung Galaxy 8 is so slim and slippery and this cover makes it easy to hold and find in my purse. All the ports and speakers are easy to get to, the camera and fingerprint sensors are protected but not blocked in any way and work great. No problem with any of the plugs and the little kickstand is great because I often need to have it standing in the landscape position for conference calls. Note that the kickstand is only for landscape position, not portrait. Love this phone case and recommend it.

Good initial impressions

I just got this case, but I do have some quick and all positive impressions. It feels solid, was easy to put on the phone and seems to fit snuggly. The case adds very little bulk to the phone. All the openings are cleanly exposed and the case buttons seem nice and likely to last. I like how the upper and lower lips of the case front are larger then the side lips and I can still easily get to the screen edge control on the right side. Hopefully, the case lips are substantial enough to help prevent screen damage from drops. The phone does feel a lot less slippery now that I have this case on and I like the feel. Important questions going forward: How well will this protect the phone? Can I add a screen glass protector and still keep the case? Update: after almost a year I can report back that this case has done a marvelous job protecting my phone. I have dropped the phone numerous times, front, back and sides, and the phone remains in perfect condition. I would buy another Spigen case in a heartbeat! I have not added any glass protection film after looking at the available options. Fortunately the case has done the trick by itself.

Brand new review - updates to come

It works fine with my Zagg INVISIBLESHIELD GLASS CURVE FOR THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S8. I thought it was going to be tight but there is a couple of millimeters space between the case and the edge of the screen protector. The case seems sturdy although I haven't dropped it and I'm not going to just to test it out. The top and bottom do protrude up a bit to protect it when it's face down and the edges are solid. I'm comfortable that it will survive and average drop unless of course it hits just right on the face but not much is going to protect against that without compromising the "edge". The stand works perfectly well. You can turn your phone one way and it sits up more verticle or flip it over and it lays less verticle. The body of the case does provide less grip but that isn't much of an issue for me. I've only had it 3 days but I'm happy so far. If things change I will update this review.

Amazing case.

This case has a nice soft matte finish that just really feels great in your hands. The Bixby button has texture so that you can differentiate from the volume rockers. The buttons are nice to press. The lips protrude out enough to leave a gap between the screen and a smooth surface when lying face down. Reinforced kickstand compared to their previous models. All ports are still easily accessible. The only thing I would complain about this case is that it doesn't have the tiny rubber feet on the backside of the case like the previous models do, but that's a small factor in all this.

Has protected my phone for over a year now

I've had this case for over a year now and it has done an excellent job of protecting my Galaxy S8 through several drops onto tile and even cement parking lots. I tried a FayTun Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S8 with this case but it didn't work. The case kept the screen protector from laying closely enough on the screen and I had to press too hard to get anything to click, and even when I could get a click it might not be on what I was pressing. It was nothing but frustrating. I got rid of the screen protector within a week. Turns out I didn't need it anyway. I've never even gotten a scratch on my screen. The raised edges above and below the face have protected it well enough. I love the rose gold color and have gotten several compliments on the case. I like that the finish is smooth enough to easily slip into and out of my purse without resistance, but the finger holds on the sides have enough grip that it doesn't slip out of my hands. My phone has easily charged through the case using several different wireless charging devices. I really like the kickstand and have used it many times. But it could be improved by redesigning so that the viewing angle is adjustable and so that it could be used with the phone in portrait position. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with this case for over a year and haven't wanted to look for another. I would highly recommend it to other buyers. Mike's Wife
