Great table for portable quilting!

I am very happy with this table! I have recently started quilting and while I love it, I didn’t love having to sit in the dining room alone to quilt while my family sits comfortably in the living room watching TV/movies. I tried a card table, but it was so big, and so hard to take up and down, that it wasn’t worth it. So, I decided I needed a rolling table that I could easily pull to the couch with me to quilt and easily roll back into a corner when I was finished. This table works perfectly! Despite the particle board and the plastic wheels mentioned in some reviews, it feels pretty sturdy to me. It’s certainly sturdy enough to hold my sewing machine and iron. I even purchased an iron mat (link below) which I attached to the flip up side, so I can iron my pieces as I sew. To attach, I folded 1/4 of the mat under itself and sewed the sides. This made it the perfect width to slide over the end of the flip up and then I used a metal clip to hold it on. They’re basically just pictures and very few words. After assembling the top pieces, the next step is to build the side shelves section. Keep an eye out for piece J! If you assemble C, D and J and then the side of the table won’t fit onto them because the middle holes don’t seem to line up, you have J upside down!! When it’s right, the holes line up just fine. Don’t wait until the whole thing is together before figuring this out, like I did.

Very pleasantly surprised.

My greatest concern when purchasing these (I bought 2) tables was whether or not they would vibrate or shake when serging or sewing at high speeds. My second concern, after reading the reviews, was that they would be horrible to assemble. Assembly was so much easier than I expected. I suspect that the instructions have been improved since earlier reviews. It took me (60 year old female) about an hour to assemble each table without assistance. While assembling the first, I thought that the holes were misaligned, but when I assembled the second table I realized I had reversed one piece. It wasn't difficult to go back and correct that mistake. It is true that the particle board is not the highest grade, and the casters are fairly flimsy. But, once assembled, they pull together into fairly sturdy tables. The best news is that they do not shake or vibrate any more than my very expensive Koala cabinets, even at high speed. At nearly 50 pounds each, I guess that makes sense. All in all, these are a great, low-cost addition to my sewing room. UPDATE: A few years later, they're still going strong, so I just bought and assembled four more for my alterations shop. Assembly is a breeze IF you are comfortable with paying very close attention to the diagrams. Everything fit perfectly.

Perfect Table for Small Space

The table arrived sooner than expected and in perfect condition. My husband had no trouble putting it together as the instructions were clear and took you step by step. If you don't have alot of floor space but need the extra table space then this is the one for you. There is plenty of room to sew even without the extended table being out, but when needed you can just raise the table and have plenty of room for extra large projects. It is very sturdy and I love the extra storage space underneath, not to mention the great price as well. I have 2 sewing machines that I use so I keep one stored in the space below and one up on the table top. It is the perfect size for the floor space that I have available. I had looked around at many tables in the stores but the small tables that I found to fit the space did not have the extra table extension that I wanted. I would highly recommend this table to anyone on a budget with a small amount of floor space.

Great crafting table!

I got this table not for sewing but to hold my printers and Cricut machine. I use it in my design room where I make decals, weed my vinyl paper, make wax transfers, and all kinds of things. I leave the leaf up as I need as much work space as I can get. I added peel and stick wallpaper to make it not so plain. I love that it can roll because when I'm making a 12 x 24 stencil on my Cricut machine and the plastic needs room to come through the back of the machine, all I need to do is unlock the wheels and pull it away from the wall a bit. Super happy with this purchase and the price! Shipping was fast and I put this together myself in 45 minutes while entertaining my 4 year old and 8 year old. Mom and crafter approved!!!

Even better than I thought it would be

I bought this knowing it wasn't "fine furniture". I just needed a craft table I could move around that would give me more surface area when I needed it. I used it to cut some fabric and now it has a polymer clay project laid out on it. I really like that I can put the drop leaf down and it takes us much less space, then when I want more surface it is right there. Nice clean smooth surface too. The casters move much more easily than I expected them to as well. Sometimes casters are sticky and these aren't. I like the shelves on this too...I can tuck bits of my projects on them as I work and easily retrieve them...a great spot for items I want to keep nearby but out of the way. I think I am going to enjoy this for quite a while.

Sturdy, functional sewing table

Yes, it was a little difficult to put together but worth it as it is a sturdy and very functional table. I found the instructions online and downloaded them onto my Kindle. Then I could enlarge the diagrams to see the detail, particularly for the very small diagram with lots of steps. The table was packaged very well with all the pieces in fine shape.

Nice Table, Poor Instructions

This sewing table is exactly what I wanted: size, color, and price. It arrived in perfect condition in a carton that was well padded. I've given it 5 stars for those reasons, although I am faulting the assembly instructions. Bear in mind that I am a 76-year-old woman who has put together hundreds of these kinds of furnishings over the years and normally do not have any problems doing so. My first step is to always check the parts list against the contents of the carton. Everything was there, and I was pleasantly surprised that each of the hardware types were in individual pockets with numbered tabs that corresponded to the instruction sheet. Usually all the hardware is together in one bag, so this made it much easier to count and utilize. The instructions specify that you only need a Phillips screwdriver. You actually also need a flat head screwdriver to tighten the camlocks and a crescent wrench to hold the screw nuts. There are 6 steps to building the table. All of the steps have a note to not overtighten the cambolts, but they are not used until Step 4. Step 1 puts the leaf and top together; no problem. Step 2 builds the side shelf. It is not clear which end of Part J to use. (Obviously I did it wrong the first time.) It would have been nice had there been a note saying the T-bolts always go in the smaller holes. In step 5 it tells you how to align the T-bolt, but not here when you first use one. Step 3 attaches the shelf to the right side of the table. The drawing only shows using 4 screws and T-bolts, the instructions do not say how many. Actually 6 are to be used. Step 4 builds the bottom shelf. The instructions omit having you insert the camlocks and tighten them with a screwdriver. Step 6 tells you that, but it is this step 4 that they are first used. Step 5 puts everything together except the top. It should tell you that the two locking casters should be in front and the non-locking ones in the back. It also calls for "wood" screws instead of the "machine" screws needed. Step 6 puts the top on; piece of cake!! All in all, a happy experience and a nicely finished product.

Great little table

I got this table so my Singer 503a could stay out all the time, and I am very happy with it. Love the extra table space in my sewing room that can be folded down when I don't need it. The Rocketeer is not a super fast machine, and this table is very stable for it. No shaking or vibrating. I got this table because it has the extra shelf on the inside, and my Scan n Cut fits perfectly on it! It was a pain to put together, just like all furniture that needs to be put together. All the holes lined up and all the hardware was in the box. It is a great height for sewing.

Very Pleased

I have had this sewing table for two month and am very happy with it. The assembly was not hard, it took about two hours as I will not use power tools to assemble this type of furniture. The top is finished was a laminate surface that reduces drag of fabric. Shelves hold the small sterillite drawers. The ones typically sold as a stack of three. I took two sets of three to make a set of five and they fit with little space remaining. The only thing that does feel odd while using it is the placement of my foot pedal. The lower shelf is about half the depth of the table. I like to have my sewing machine 6-8 inches from the edge of the table. I have had to get use to having the foot pedal closer than I was accustom to. Not a major issue.
