Our 3 year old son is extremely satisfied with this unit. He is really into instruments right now and wanted a violin. This isn't a stringed version replica of a real violin, it is instead the shape and look of a violin, and plays violin music from a speaker with the push of a button. It also has a clever rubberized rocker switch in the area that would normally be bowed on a real violin. As the switch rocks back and forth, each back and forth motion plays the next note of a preprogrammed song. This is really neat because the child can use the bow to activate the rocker switch and feel as though they are playing. The toy seems rugged enough for its purpose, but I don't get the impression that, having a 3 year old treating it as they do, it will last a terribly long time. It's been a few months so far with a few good drops and bangs, and so far it has been good. Overall I recommend this unit to any child who is interested in violins, but from a toy perspective, not from the perspective of actually playing a real strung violin.

Wonderful toy for our 4 year old!

My grandson loves music an drumming on anything as well as playing with his toy guitar we bought him for his 3 rd bday . It was more money than the violin an half the quality . This is very heavy plastic that looks like wood . Has not strings, however for this age that’s not a problem in our opinion . As there is a rubber piece at the place that has 3 raised lines where strings would be , that one would play and it allows you to play when running now over that area . My daughter played violin and she was able to pick it up an play a tune she wanted . It needs batteries an Has option for little one to play songs by hitting button and pretending to play . Or hitting another button an playing over the rubber area . Size is same as real one for this age. Have had since March 12 an he plays it every day almost . Has been just the best ! I can’t say enough. Wonderful things about this toy ! You won’t disappointed .

I bought this one for my son for some child music lessons he’s starting (pre-school) for which they needed to learn about different instruments. Looks nice and works fine for this purpose.

Fun violin for toddlers

My daughter enjoys it. If your looking for a violin to introduce your child to violin (under 5years old), this is the one to get. I play the violin and to have her be comfortable with holding, moving the bow and just getting use to is helpful and fun when I practice, she doesnt touch my violin because she has her own.
