This game is fantastic for our daughter. She loves all things music and has a few music apps, but this creates a whole new level of playing. The pieces are very well made, very sturdy. The instructions are simple to follow for the kids. You must have an iPad and a stand to use this game though (sold separately). But now that we have one game and the stand, the stand will work for all the other Osmo Coding games as well.

Used this for coding project. Really simple to use and a lot of it is self explanatory. One thing that would be nice for this is to have included some information on developing more complex projects. A online search gave me some really good additional things to do with this set but having that resource referenced in the box would be nice. One issue that came up with my the loop block is that it is already set to repeat once. Overall this was really fun. Would like an option to expand this code set for more instruments/characters and song patterns. This worked for ages 5 through 12. Older ones could build more complex codes with subroutines and loops. Younger kiddos liked the option of changing characters and sounds. The cause effect with visual interaction as blocks are added or changed clarifies the code sequence.

So much cooler than we had anticipated! First, let me just say that we are a huge Osmo family. We love all of the products and own most of them, but this was our first venture into coding. I was a bit worried that it would be too difficult for my 6 year old to pick up, but the lessons go through what each tile does and how to use it. You create musical parts by having your monster touch a specific sound. You can change the sound as much as you’d like until you’re happy with it. Next, repeat the process to lay on additional tracks to make a complete song. It’s easy to pick up, but the possibilities are endless. As an adult, I’ve played it several times after she went to bed because I’m not always good at sharing. When we eventually buy Awbie, the tiles can be used to enhance both games with Duo, so we’re excited to try that route soon.

We got the genius kit last year for Christmas and wanted to add to our collection. Great way to introduce coding. My kids love making their own music while learning to code.

Great product for my kids to play together on. They are learning without realizing it and take such pride sending their creations to me over email. I highly recommend all the Osmo products.

Set up was fairly easy (this is our first Osmo game, so we had to create an account, etc) and the tutorial taught my child quickly how to interact with the game. He’s off creating and also likes seeing what others have created. From the parents’ perspective, appreciate that it has a case to neatly store the pieces.

Great learning game ! Do wish I could get an extra box as the kids already lost the one we got and the pieces get lost without it ....

My kids love this! It’s such a good homeschooling technique to add into the day

My 5-y.o. son wanted this one and specifically spent his birthday money on it. He is very mathematically- and engineering-minded, so he gravitated towards this. We have the genius starter kit, Incredibles, and this, and this one is his favorite. The Osmo setup has been self-explanatory and with the parent app, it tells me how many lines of code he has done and the length etc. Very cool idea. Dad is a Computer Programmer, so he is thrilled that he is starting with this.

This was on sale for a great price during the holidays, so it was an even greater value. My six-year old grandson loves music and loves the ability to create it himself while learning some basic coding skills . You cannot go wrong with Osmo games, and this one is definitely a winner.
