Ok, so it's now day 4 of our Roomba, and I'm going to say...GET A ROOMBA, it is AMAAAAAZING!!! 1) I vacuumed pretty intensely before I started the Roomba on Day 1, and it still needed to be emptied out 3x in one hour. I was both horrified by the amount of dog hair the roomba was able to find, and also impress that it found that much dog hair! 2) because of the style of furniture we got, the roomba was able to get under the bed, the couch, the armchair, etc...basically all the places that I only vacuum once a quarter...but it got ALL the dust bunnies (dust puppies?)! 3) the roomba DOES eat cords. So Day 1 and Day 2, I kept running around after the roomba to wrap up/tuck all the cords out of the way 4) the roomba loooooves socks. The husband and I are pretty cavalier about where we toss our socks at the end of the day, and the roomba WILL find all the socks. So if nothing else, we will be much better about putting the socks IN the hamper (which is not the worst thing) 5) the dog is terrified of the roomba, so she barks at it constantly. But more importantly, she FREAKS out that the roomba comes after her toys (the doesn't suck up the toys - her dog toys are too big...but small lego blocks will get sucked up, so warn your kids!), so now the DOG PICKS UP HER TOYS. Of course, she brings all the toys into my bed or onto the couch instead of her toy bin...but we finally got the dog to pick up after herself!!! LOL 6) the roomba is pretty loud and the first few days you run it, you'll want to follow it around to make sure it doesn't eat anything it's not supposed to. So plan on a week of doing extra work with the roomba. But we're on Day 4, and we just went out to dinner and left the roomba on (the dog frantically trying to get all her toys onto the couch once she heard the roomba go! LOL! 7) you'll want to run the roomba every day to keep up the clean. Also, the roomba is slower than if you vacuumed yourself...but the bonus will be that you won't have to vacuum! But we figure you that dinner cooking/prep time is the best time for us to run the roomba. It's pretty loud (not as loud as a normal vacuum - it's about as loud as the microwave or the hairdryer) so you won't want to run it at bedtime or in the middle of the night. A lot of people run it during the day, but the dog isn't thrilled with the roomba so we might not run it when we're not home...at least not until the dog gets used to it. Long story short...GET THE ROOMBA. It's AWESOME. We got the 890 model and we looooooove it. knowing what I know now, I would definitely upgrade to the 960 or the 980 model.

I have had this for two weeks now and I cannot believe how much I love it. Before I purchased it I read multiple reviews and pondered all the pros and cons. Let me just say, buy it you won’t regret it. I have three dogs and two cats and they all shed a lot. They also track dirt in from outside through the pet door. I am amazed with how clean my floors look and feel. This little robot navigates around furniture walls and obstacles wonderfully. My one suggestion is spend the first few days running it while you are home, so you can optimize your house for a roomba. You might move furniture to make sure it has a clear path to a corner or see that you need to pick up cords, so they don’t cause a problem. On the second day of owning my roomba my son said “mom, you’re acting like it’s one of your kids” and I said “I think I like it more than my kids, I give it power and WiFi and it cleans the house. I’ve been giving you power and WiFi and you just mess up the house” he’s a teenager so he rolled his eyes and chuckled. UPDATE - Almost 10 months later. Roomba runs at a minimum once a day and sometimes 2x per day. We have 4 dogs and roomba keeps the house looking great. Seriously one of the best purchases I have ever made. My only wish is that it would empty itself (the newest version does!).

Does the job all the time and goes back and docks 100% of the time. The other cleaning robots have more features but this one gets the job done. This is my fourth roomba(including a non-Roomba robot) so I know what to expect. This is NOT a replacement for a standard vacuum cleaner, but it does two things for us: 1) Gets us into a habit of keeping the floors cable/toy/other junk free and 2) vacuums every single day which no one can do :). Yea, doesn't pick up every thing, misses some spots sometimes, still gets stuck but hey does two things(mentioned above) well.

These reviews have lost most of their relevance to me. I believe vendors are cutting their own throats by providing people free product for review purposes. I hope this review is more practical than most about this product. This vacuum performs admirably, it is much quieter than I expected and is great to KEEP your house clean. If you are the type that fills the dirt bin in 10 minutes you probably should start with a leaf blower, then go to a shop vac and work down from there. Wifi pairing was not difficult, If you don’t have any knowledge of pairing devices, then I would recommend you start with help from someone that is familiar with the technology or just start with a call to their tech support. I read about docking problems, be patient and understand what has to happen for it to doc. It does not go directly to it’s home base, If you have some patience it will eventually find it. Don’t expect it to be quick. This will not replace weekly vacuuming unless you are a very clean person with a small house or apartment. It is excellent for dog hair, If you have 8 dogs and 12 cats in the house, I would recommend you stay with a shop vac. Don’t rate the product poorly because the dirt bag is small, it is a poor reflection on you intelligence. Study before you buy, it will save you a lot of disappointment and it will save the rest of us a lot of time reading worthless reviews. I believe this product deserves a 5 star rating and I paid for it myself.

Love it. I don't have pets unless you count grandchildren. My carpets/floors were so bad that at first I had to empty the dust bin every 15 minutes or so and confine the cleaning to one room at a time. After a week I can turn the Roomba loose on all 2000 sq feet. I run it every 2 hours when I am home and I am still amazed at how much dirt it picks up. Like many people I thought I would get a Roomba to run while I was at work. I do not recommend this, you do need to be present to monitor. Everyone should own a Roomba.

I was sceptical, have waited many times on purchasing , but finally went for this one on Prime Day. And I have to say, the thing is fantastic! Does an amazing job covering my entire (oddly shaped) apartment's rooms and hallways, both hardwood and carpet. Cleans beautifully and thoroughly. And can be controlled/scheduled from my iPhone. Even reports in on the phone when the job is done or if there is a problem somewhere. And it's so quiet that I can have it running even when I'm home and not be bothered by it. As a bonus, even the cats -- who HATE all vacuums -- kind of like this thing. They almost play with it, stalking it and following it around. Glad I finally went for it -- AI has arrived and this 890 is a prime example. My days of hand vacuuming are done!

I love this robot. I love the fact that I can leave it doing its job while I can take care of other things like wash dishes, doing laundry or write reviews on Amazon haha... a couple things that you have to have in mind. First, is a robot, not a human, this doesn't happen all the time but expect it to miss one or two spots, but nothing that you can't clean in 2 seconds after. It saves you a lot of time, not only in one day. You can set it to vacuum the house everyday, or even more than once daily. For people with cats or dogs this is going to be a really welcomed hand. I have five cats, and I can tell you it does a pretty good job. Second, just make sure there's no cables or any kind of strings (like some pet toys, etc) or sheets of paper on the floor because the robot will get tangled and might cause some damage in the machine. detangling it is not really a big deal all the pieces can be disassembled easily, except that you're going to have to stop what you're doing to fix the problem. Of course you can also place the virtual wall device where the cables are on the floor so the robot will avoid that area. I clean the dust bin after every job, or sometimes in the middle of the cleaning job depending on how full i think it might be, the machine will also let you know when it's full. Battery last more than hour and a half i guess, it has never run out of battery, it always finishes the job and go back to base in about an hour, but a couple times it took more than hour and a half. Some people say it has trouble going back to base, that never happened to me. Just make sure the base is in a clear area where it can be detected by the robot. The robot will wonder around for a few minutes after it notifies you on the phone that the job is done, looking for the base and finally it will go there and put itself to charge. I was scared when i bought it that it would be too noisy, but is not. A regular vacuum makes more noise, I can still watch tv without being bothered by it.

Works great and fast! talks to me on app when she is finished or full or needs help while doing her cleaning. Love this thing! Schedule vaccume everyday when I leave work so if she is stuck I can help her when I get home and her job is almost done or if there were no problems she wirelessly goes find her home base charger and has plugged herself in after cleaning! so awesome!

I absolutely love our roomba! With 4 large dogs, it has been amazing. I have it set with the app to run every day. The only thing you have to watch for is if your pet or child has an accident on the floor it will track it everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE! But I now know how to completely clean and detail it. Replacement filters, brushes and rollers are easy to replace and cheap to purchase. All in all it a wonderful vacuum and I wouldn’t go back to regular manual ones

I've been a bit of a skeptic about Roomba's, they always seemed like an expensive toy, but actually getting one and using it, I can see what all the fuss is about. The Roomba 890 is wifi connected, so you can use it with an accompanying app. This is nice because it gives you notifications if you activate the Roomba when you are away, including when it is done cleaning. I like this feature, as I like to set the Roomba loose when I am away. This Roomba uses a combination of random bounce and mapping an area to clean. It makes the Roomba a lot of fun to watch as it makes its way around the room. The thing that impressed me the most about this Roomba is how well it cleans. The Roomba can take 25-30 mins to cover every nook and cranny in a medium sized bedroom, far longer than I'd ever spend with a conventional vac, and it seems to get the hard to reach places, like way under the bed. I find that being able to push a button and have it go, means I'm actually cleaning more often. I move the base to different rooms, hit the clean button and off it goes. While Roomba is supposed to be good with chords and stuff, I do find I need to Roomba proof a room a little bit before sending it off to do its thing. The Roomba 890 does an exceptional job on carpet and a good job on floors. We have two labradoodles, and it seems to handle their hair fairly well. although it does a better job in rooms where the dogs aren't frequent travelers. I'm simply impressed by the Roomba, and now our other vacs are starting to collect dust!
