What a great doorstop.

pros: These units are more flexible in accommodating various distances between door and floor than some other magnetic doorstops I tried. big bonus is that they can be installed on the floor or on the wall. I even installed one on the side of a dresser! They are not gorgeous, but they have some character and sense of design so you won't feel the need to hide them. They come in more than one color. They keep the doors from banging the walls and from slamming shut when a gust blows by. cons: If there is not clearance to see behind the door, you will have a tough time on the install, which takes some skill to get right. These have to be positioned exactly because the mounting hardware does not give the installer any flexibility to slide the mounting plates into position before tightening them down. The pieces fit like the ball and socket of the hip joint and if they are misaligned the magnets won't catch. You must know exactly where the screws go to position the stops to keep the doors anchored in a breeze so you might want to measure three times and drill once.

Works Very Well!

Nice color, matched my brushed nickel bathroom fixtures nicely. I work at 3M so I know the double sided tape is excellent and nice to have extra pieces of tape included. It took me 3 minutes to install with the tape. Make sure that you wipe off all surfaces with IPA and let dry before adhering the tape. The magnet is strong in that a breeze won’t close the door, a little tug is all that’s needed to release it. Another nice feature is that the small side of the door stopper has a spring in it to absorb the force of closing the door too hard. Very nice. There are several pieces of hardware included if you want to screw either side into the wall/door. However, there are no instructions on how to do that and there were several pieces of hardware that I didn’t know what they were for but for me it didn’t matter since I didn’t use them.

Seller & Product are GREAT! - Recommended.

The product at first did not work, as the door it was holding seemed to be too heavy for the magnet. The seller however contacted me & offered me multiple solutions. We had multiple emails back & forth and he was quick to respond each time. He even sent me another one of these free of charge and free shipping & let me keep the old one. I thought if I put two of them on the door it would work. I later found that the first one I received was defective in design, so I put the 2nd one he sent me on the door - and seems to be holding up well. I must say the seller went ABOVE & BEYOND to resolve my issue & it worked out very well in the end - he was very understanding and willing to do whatever needed to ensure I was satisfied. Thank You!

Great for RVs

We use this item as a bathroom doorstop in our RV, and this has exceeded our expectations. Rather than hard mount, we decided to use the self adhesive option, and the doorstop has not only remained sealed, but the magnet is strong enough to hold the door open securely. Was skeptical that this would work, but it does, and I am glad I made the purchase. Great for RVs.

Solid

Magnet is strong, but not too strong. Using the stops with the 3M double stickies, the wall is drywall with no stud and operation is solid. The door is the garage entrance so it's pretty heavy. I cleaned both surfaces with IPA before applying the double stick. No more playing soccer with the floor door stop while I'm carrying a bunch of stuff.

Great product

Update: I've been using this product for 6 months with no issues. My toddler hasn't figured out how to pull the door shut and the 3M stickers have been holding up wonderfully. I wouldn't even waste my time with the mounting hardware. Just installed a second one in our spare bedroom and couldn't be happier about it. I'd love to purchase one for our master bedroom, but our door backs up to bi-fold closet doors and probably wouldn't do well in such a situation. I wish I had bought one of these a year ago! Used the stickers to install on my toddler's bedroom door to keep it open during the day. The amount of force required to break the magnetic pull requires a bit of effort, which I'm glad for... if my toddler could pull it shut there would be no point in this item. The stickers have a strong enough hold that I can pull on the door a couple times a day (and we've been using it for the last month) with no failing. Worse case scenario, if the stickers should fail, I saved the screws and mounting pieces that came with this. Could not be more please by this item and will probably be buying more in the future

Easy install. Used the screws on garage and laundry door. Used the 3m adhesive on front door since it will be replaced. To use the screws you use the smaller plates. Mark the holes and drill. Then place the plate with the center bolt in it, then screw in the plate. Next twist stopper onto the bolt.

Awesome product Customer service

After 5 months it broke. The magnetic flat piece that attaches to the door literally broke off and stuck to the wall side. Leaving a bigger piece attached to the door. It was awesome while it lasted. I'm trying to decide whether to just purchase again just for the door side. UPDATED After this initial review I was offered a free replacement or another item from the store. I opted for the free replacement and am adding 2 stars for awesome customer service. Like I said the product is awesome and worked flawlessly for 5 months. Noting we used that door every day as it is on the garage entry door. Looking forward to my replacement. UPDATED 3/18/18 Replacement received. I only used the piece that had broken off so in 2 seconds I was back in business. Great and fast customer service. I will add that the door we use it on has a very strong swing so I was suprised the magnet even held it open. If on the fence go ahead and bite the bullet. Affordable enough.

bought one and then bought two more

This magnetic door stop works really well! the doors throughout my house are affected by wind and need to be anchored; the clearance underneath is super high so rubber stops weren't working in some places. I wanted a more elegant solution and this is it! Well made, well designed. Each stop has two main parts the catch and the post. Both are super magnetized and "catch" nicely to stop open the door. The stickers they come with are seriously strong too. So strong that I don't see the need for the all the alternate hardware that's included. They are so strong that when I misaligned it, it took a thin chisel to take them off (but didn't scratch or leave a mark) and they still stuck tight again after. Plus they give you an extra set just in case. We'll see how well these stick after a full year. But I'm thinking they will be fine. If not, I have that hardware. Now if they only included info on how that hardware is to be assembled—it's a bit mysterious! I suggest putting the stickers on both pieces—with the outward facing sticker still covered by paper; then connecting the magnet (post and catch) in the configuration you want (post on floor or post on wall as shown) then remove the outward facing stickers and line them up connected together to make sure it's correct. (if that makes sense). I love these things!
