Great receiver - Zone2 is not digital.
features and function of the receiver are perfect. It even includes a setting to match the audio to the video (lip sync). Setup was not complicated with the included mic. Beware, zone2 inputs are only for non-digital inputs. (ie you cant port HDMI audio to Zone2). To get around this I used composite audio (red/white) from the cable box to a second input. This is a standard restriction in all entry level receivers I found. For digital zone2 inputs, you need to shell out another $200+. Work around is simple and worth the savings

Perfect for gaming at 7.1 surround. Great sound, with no video/sound lag.
This receiver works wonders for my game/theater room. The setup is quite easy and felt very fulfilling to say the least. The quality and build are very eye appealing and we'll though. I had no problem connecting my speaker or my sub. This sound is very high quality, setup is quick and easy. The receiver did most of the setup for me, I had to do a few adjustments for my personal tasting, but the devices own calibration was quite nice as well. I use the system in it 7.1 layout. It have yet to try the 5.2.2 or the 7.2, but I can see the the options are readily available for the choosing. The UI is very simple, but not lacking in features. Since my speaker and wires were already run in preparation for the receiver, it only took 15 minutes to connect everything and be up and running. I use the system primary for gaming, I notice no delay from my PS4 inputs to the sreen, not do I notice sound delay. I am overall statistics with this product and loving the sound of my games and movies. I have my personal movie theater in my house now.

Head to head comparison. Excellent performance @ $200 less.
I have an older Onkyo receiver that has been excellent so when another brand receiver in another room died, I looked first at Onkyo. This one is amazing. To do a more accurate comparison, I temporarily just swapped it with my older Onkyo. Same source (Dish Hopper), same speakers. The older receiver gets audio via the optical output from the Hopper. This one gets it via HDMI. Using the automatic setup with no other tweaking, the setup was a breeze. Results: This receiver was very well balanced and (I wear two high end hearing aids) noticeably clearer. Speech recognition was much better (and) at lower volumes (measured SPL). Music was excellent. Tried am/fm and built-in streaming. All were excellent. Excellent features and price. This is last year’s model and discounted about $200 below current model. Brand new unit - not a refurbished one. Prime:FedEx priority 2 day.

Love IT
Great receiver so far...I can't believe how much more I hear from this unit compared to my 2 year old pioneer receiver that was just blah.... Even my wife says its night and day. For the price I don't think it can be beat, easy setup and the uncomplicated remote is a plus

Great bang for the buck
I got this to replace a a 10 year old Pioneer surround receive with just 5.1 surround. My theater was built for 7.1 but it was only running 5.1 My old system did not pass audio through the HDMI so you could not get 7.1 even though it had back channels, those were for 6.1, rarely used in most sound tracks. I was wanting to be able to have Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and Atmos surround so this was a good deal. I paid about 500.00 or more for the pioneer i have 10 years ago and this is way better for half the cost. I love the zone 2 feature which is great to send audio to the game room with one system. The theater will drop the back channels or the height channels to send power to the game room but when you turn the zone two power off the back channels or height come back on. Not an issue to me. You can zone 2 out through rca channels out to a second sound system without loosing back channels but i like simplifying with just one system. I also like the networking aspect, this allows you to stream audio directly to the system with an app and your able to remote control the system with a ios or android app. You can control the volume power and settings etc. with the app, great for when you in zone 2 and not in reach of the receiver in zone 1. Plenty of power and clean audio. I really enjoy having so many HDMI inputs with audio pass through. My old system only had two HDMI's this has 6. My old one would not receive audio you had to use optical cables for 5.1 or 6.1 on that one, 7.1 or 7.2 can only be sent through HDMI. The setup and settings are done through the HDMI to our projector or TV is some people case, and its very easy to navigate. Onkyo made it all make sense. Some setting can be made on the ios app as well and that makes since too. Setup was quick, it first sets up with a wizard when you first turn it on so make sure you have your tv on so you can view the messages. And it steps you through the system as well checking your equipment connections. you can always go back and rerun the setup at anytime. I spent more time connecting wires and cleaning up all the cables than setting up the system to be ready once powered on. Much better upgrade for me and the technology is so much more advanced in 10 years and the price has dropped remarkably. Not sure why some say they dont think its a quality receiver, when i think right the opposite and I'm very in tune with A/V being in the business first hand. Onkyo did not cheap out. The $1,000.00 units folks are talking about, yea you get a great piece of equipment in that range but that's an overkill for most people. If you need simple clean power with some bells and whistles that put out great sound this will get the job done and fairly well.

Everything just worked right out of the box The sound is fantastic and has plenty of power for my 5
This does everything I need from an av receiver. Setup was a breeze, took less than an hour from taking it out of the box to having it fully dialed in. Everything just worked right out of the box The sound is fantastic and has plenty of power for my 5.0 speaker setup, 4 Klipsch KG1.2 with a Klipsch KV2 Center speaker which is voice matched to the KG1.2s. I just set the speakers to full and turned off the subs, I don't need them. Then I ran the setup with the mic and that was that. The DAC in this receiver is really great, I listen to my music with all channel stereo now. There is no loss of quality compared to my high end DACs playing through the receiver in stereo and I get a fabulous soundstage. I have about 10,000 FLAC files on a Linux computer with minidlna and I was a little worried that the 575 would not find them because of all the blah blah blah about Windows Media Player but it seems it will work with any DLNA server. It found all my music files and their tags, Artist, Album Genre, and recently added, which is great. I just need to figure out the playlist stuff. It also sounds great with every audio format my Shield TV and cable box could throw at it from DD to DTS Master Audio. If you get this receiver definitely get the Onkyo Connect app, it is much faster than the remote for some things but is missing a few minor functions. Also. go to the Onkyo site and download the advanced manual. It has a lot of stuff you need to know.

Best Onkyo I've Owned
A couple reasons for the 5 stars: I like the pass-through in mini player mode. I like the subwoofer level. The bass mix is always right, at any volume, (except volumes low enough that the sub auto shuts off). The network capability is one reason I got this Onyko receiver. I was a bit wary of going from an Onkyo WRAT to the newer Dynamic Audio Amplification. I think the audio quality is great for this price point. In order to get the last 0.5% of better audio you have to spend quadruple the amount, so I'm an entry-level receiver person. I did spend on speakers, built my own. The FM tuning section is as good as it gets, and you need to orient the antenna right. Since I rarely listen to FM, I laid my antenna along the baseboard. I like the new way of accessing the sound modes and the tone controls. I tried the Onkyo controller app for Android, and I was disconcerted, because the phone took over, as soon as Bluetooth was received by the Receiver. I was listening to network Pandora radio at the time. It switched when the Bluetooth signal was sensed. The first pic shows the mini player, what it looks like when using the monitor for another source.

Plenty of power and the sound is great.
This replaced a older Yamaha that quit working. I am powering 2 AR front towers 1 Polk 12 inch sub 1 Polk center speaker and 2 Polk rear speakers with it. Plenty of power and the sound is great.

Received on time and in good condition. As to the receiver itself
Received on time and in good condition. As to the receiver itself: it exceeds my expectations. Plenty of power, more inputs than I can see myself ever using, and that big volume knob has good resistance and just feels good in the hand! Note that most settings, including the ability to even use zone two audio, require a TV to navigate through the settings. For most, this is no big deal, however I was using the unit without a TV for a few weeks and couldn't figure out how to get zone two working until I read online that it's in the initial TV setup. Once you set up the wifi, Onkyo has an app called "Onkyo Controller" which, for my use, changed the game. From the other room (on the same wifi network), I can change the volume, input, and even turn the unit on and off. I hadn't read about this feature in advance, so I was pleasantly surprised! From an aesthetic standpoint, the receiver is minimalist and clean: perfect for my taste. It's rather large, and gets warm on top, so plan accordingly. It is clearly marked on top as such, and never gets too hot in my use. All in all, a solid receiver. Five stars, exceeded my expectations.
