Wow!! '05 Corolla stuck in garage. Dealer wanted $250 for shifter cable PLUS $390 for labor to install. Oh yeah, PLUS tow truck to get there, $100 easy. Searched on Amazon and viola! What an amazing little piece of plastic. Thank You Ascension Eng. and Amazon!!

Excellent product and concept

I would like to address those who believe this item is overpriced... first consider this product has a patent pending, a cost which is forwarded to the purchaser. Secondly, the shifter cable will vary per vehicle but in my case, the part was $480 (not installed, part only) for a 2002 RX Lexus. $30 vs $480 is a no-brainer. Finally, consider the value of your time. This bushing took 30 minutes total to install, compared to several hours replacing the cable. I will update this later in the event of a failure, but as for now it's 5*****

The part fit my vehicle without a issues.

After several miles and years the automatic transmission would not shift into park and other gears. Did the usual and checked the transmission fluid and engine mounts as well as web searches. With the knowledge gained I ordered the part. Arrived in a few days and I began the task of removal of the center console. Not a easy task and I had to search for a video of it or a listing of fasteners to remove. I see now why shops charge so much for labor. There are a number of videos of people changing out other parts but none for my make and model. Yes, I would purchase another vehicle of the same make and model. Relatively trouble free. Discovered parts of the old one in the bottom of the center console and installed the new bushings with out any issues. Yes I would purchase the part again.

Worked Perfect On My Daughter's 2005 Toyota Corolla

The plastic bushing on my daughter's 2005 Toyota Corolla broke while at her friends house. She called me and told me what was going on and I ordered the bushing. There were cheaper ones on Amazon but this was the only one that was prime shipping and time was of the essence so I ordered it. It came in and worked perfect. Installed in less than 5 min. Been in there about 2 months and have not had any problems.

Easy fix, saved money

This is a great product and alternative to buying a replacement shifter cable which costs over $200 or having the dealer replace for around $400. I could buy the cable and take only the bushing to save time but I would still spend a ton of money compared to this awesome Bushing Fix product. This bushing seems to be of excellent quality and could probably last longer than the OEM part. It took me 10 minutes or less to replace. Pop open the center console, cleanup the shift linkage, apply the supplied grease, pop on the bushing and replace the center console. I didn’t need to use the provided bushing tool, that’s how easy it is. I would definitely buy again if needed or if one of my other vehicles need it.

The labor and part savings are huge.

I installed this on my 2000 Avalon xls, I removed the ash tray, top cover around the shifter, then was able to access the cable end for installation. This only took about 25 minutes to do, be careful not to drop the bushing or installer, which I did but was able to retrieve it with long needle nose pliers. This repaired my shift cable, I’m quite pleased with the results, the price is a little high but the alternative is way more $$. The labor savings is quite huge as well. I did use the installer due to the fact I couldn’t get great leverage with only the partial disassembly, if I completely removed the shift console and center storage console I could’ve snapped in in without the installer, it was still quite a simple task. I didn’t wait for the starting problem, mine was just sloppy when going from drive to reverse, I had to hunt for the reverse position, it now has very little free play and feels like a positive engagement.

Works great, easy install, and fast delivery.

This bushing fits the shift linkage in our Lexus GX470. Didn't need the installation cap tool to install. It went in easily and locked onto the lever pin easily with the included silicon lubricant. Arrived quickly. $30 for a $1 kit, but works great and I couldn't find anything locally (Hawaii).
