  • SUPER DURABLE – Ibetter oil filter drain tool are made from high strength steel that is updated design and allows proper removal and installation of oil filter housings.
  • DRIVE - 3/8” drive.

Some of the filter wrenches for the 86mm smooth top oil filter caps can have play in them - guys end up wrapping electrical tape around the cap to get a snug fit. Sometimes the caps get overtightened because the guy before you didn't take the time to use a torque wrench or gorrilla'd it on with a strap wrench. In that situation it is always a little unnerving using a wrench with play in it because it feels like the wrench could slip and wrapping tape around the cap or inside the wrench just kinda sucks to begin with. This filter wrench fits nice and snug with no play at all and easily removes overtightened caps with ease. Why BMW went with a smooth top design on the caps is a mystery in the first place. Buy this wrench and all problems are solved.

This Ibetter Oil Filter Wrench for BMW is just perfect. Used it on my 2013 X6 - Twin Scroll Straight 6, 3L engine. (N55B30M0). As you can see in the picture it fits just perfectly. - Perfect height too!. Very snug and tight as it should so it will not damage oil filter cap. Extremely happy with the purchase.

For the money, this is a great value, and if used properly, should last as long as your N55 engine....the construction material may cause it to distort, and may be difficult to separate from the filter assembly, but if this occurs, the cap was installed too tight or it's being installed too tightly...cranking on the plastic oil filter canister lid without disregard to propr torque value will result in needing a new filter canister lid and/or tool.....I'd buy this product and same mfg products....

I have a 2008 328i. The idiots that changed my oil last over torqued the oil filter cap and it wouldn't budge with filter pliers or a strap wrench. I had to really lean into it but the cap wrench worked like a charm. It fit perfectly.

I have been looking around at the local auto stores ( checkers/napa/autozone) and no one had the correct size. I had to research the tool i needed more, I found out that the oil housing cover was an awkward size 86.4. Looked it up here on amazon and found this one. Perfect fit, took me 3 minutes to change the oil filter after this product came in the mail.

It worked fine, it is super snug. To pop off the cap from the wrench, insert a dowel inside the top where it connects to the wrench, and tap out the cap.

Using this on a 2016 BMW 328i. I caved and bought this as trying to get the filter cap off with a strap wrench wasn't working too well. This is a much better solution and fits perfectly both on the filter cap and on my 3/8" drive ratchet/extension.

Although not super heavy duty, this fits my filter cap perfectly. It is a tight fit & takes a little wiggling to get it back off after tightening. It does not slip. So as long as I don't drop it & it dents, this should last me for many many oil filter changes.

I spent a good five minutes attempting to get the oil filter cap off my E90 328xi before realizing “oh, wait, that probably needs a special socket.” This one worked, and thankfully, was 3/8 drive so it worked with my breaker bar. Can’t make any guarantees about the reliability- I’ve only used it once- but it seems thick enough to prevent it from warping.

This product is a must for the DIY BMW folks out there. Nobody wants to chip up their reusable oil cap using the wrong tool for the job. There are several options out there. I opted for this one and I am not disappointed.
