TX-8270 Amazing Wonderful Sounding & Powerful Amp

5 ++Stars This Is An Excellent Unit, I love this amp! Has plenty of power for my 2- 6 speaker each Tower Speakers sound is crystal clear and does not distort at hi volume, I also added a 300 watt sub onto it makes a big difference in bass. The other major plus is all the digital hook ups and internet features that are built into it. On Screen settings is a wonderful feature and makes set up incredibly simple and the amount of individualized adjustments to settings almost seems unending. I run my Roku via the HDMI pass through so all my internet tv, YouTube etc.. sound comes through the amp. Plus unit still has analog inputs for turntable and other analog units. My Rotel analog amp blew and I replaced it with this one (TX-8270 Why Amazon lumps all the reviews into one I don't know) I strongly recommend this amp for the money it is an excellent buy especially if you are not looking for a fancy home theater surround sound system, bu t a great regular stereo system that adapts well to anything out there right now.

This is an outstanding stereo receiver. The key thing to keep in mind are the speakers they are mated with. Mine are Definitive Technology BP7004 that can handle upto 300 watts. Converting the output from 2.1 to 2.0, allows the low frequency signals to be sent to the BP 7004. The BP 7004's have inbuilt sub woofers that then produce warm 3 dimensional imaging with lilting highs, strong midrange and powerful bass. This receiver has more functions that any on the market. Quite an over achiever.

Great new age receiver......

Update. I noticed when I switched from listening to Pandora on the Net to playing vinyl on the turntable that there was a big difference in the volume coming out of the receiver. I even sold a very nice Denon cartridge thinking that it was the problem. I assumed it was the built in preamp contacted another dealer looking for a separate preamp to boost the sound up. The Crutchfield customer service agent informed me that you can adjust the volume of each component on this receiver. Something that I didn't notice in the manual. Now the volume from the turntable, Pandora and CD player are the same. I will always love my vintage receiver, but it was missing some modern options. After reading many reviews I decided on the Onkyo TX-8270. It is a bit smaller and lighter then I imagined it would be. However, it was a breeze to set up, the multi channel WiFi works great. The receiver fills a large great room with beautiful music. I paired it with Klipsch RB-61 II bookshelf speakers and a Klipsch R-10SWI wireless subwoofer. What I love about this receiver, it has HDMI options so you can use it as a home theatre system (no center channel), it has a full size remote(so when the girlfriend enters the room I can easily lower the volume), it has a preamp for a turntable, and ports for my CD player and IPOD cradle. One of the best features is that you can stream music services with it after downloading the Onkyo Controller app. So I can use my tablet and turn on the receiver (through wood cabinet doors), choose a Pandora station, and adjust the volume, treble, base, subwoofer volume, etc. This receiver is a beautiful high tech piece of electronics, it has lots of power, the sound is great and it is very cool to play around with.

First of all,don't let the plain looks of this receiver fool you , she is a BEAST !!!!! i recently bought this unit to upgrade from my Yamaha (Yamaha RX-V379BL 5.1-Channel A/V Receiver with Bluetooth ). I have a 2 channel true stereo setup with very large custom made speakers, They need power to drive them efficiently. I have been looking for a modern 2 channel unit ,This receiver sounds flawless on all formats,CD,Tuner,and the Bluetooth streams a very high quality sound,an improvement from my last Yamaha listed above ( the Yamaha is quite good also) but this Onkyo has it beat. One of my first playback test was the Remaster Led Zeppelin 2 Album the track,,, "Moby Dick" Drum Solo it really brought this Epic Song to life ,I LOVE THIS RECEIVER,SO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO GET IT,,, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT !!! The only downside is,,the instruction manuel does not really explain the speaker settings and adjustments properly. i am still trying to figure out the best settings for my 2 channels,,but even with knowing the right settings,,,it still sounds FANTASTIC. it also has a subwoofer input.This unit is very sharp sounding on all highs,,, mids and lows..especially the highs,, really satisfied with this 2 channel BEAST !!!!

Great/Powerful Music Only Reciever

Bought this receiver to power 4 outdoor speakers (an A and/or B setup) , no video. This receiver is GREAT! The sound is so clear at any volume and normal volume level is at half volume or lower. The Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have the longest range I've ever come across. Great receiver and great price.

Great all rounder

There aren't many A/V receiver just doing stereo, this is not just one of them, but a good one Connected like the TV speaker, ARC work just great, PC video card audio worked good, game console worked great. When screen off, streaming chromecast as pure audio device it's produced great music, everything it works just worked well with my klipsch rp-150m, if you are not going to make you home theater multi-channel, this is kind of no brainier, just buy it, it come with all feature you'll need.

Fantastic receiver for the money it really kicks

Fantastic receiver really does a great job. If you want to listen to music this is the way to go rather than hooking it up to your TV, if you just want to listen to music got 4 good speakers and a sub woofer and the music is like ear candy.

Perfect Amp for Multi-Zone House Setup.

I bought this receiver to act as the main driver in my multi-zone house system. I purchased Onkyo b/c I have always felt the provided a high quality product. In this case, they did not disappoint. The setup of the system was very easy, but I do recommend you hook it to a monitor or TV. Trying to do the setup from the screen of the receiver but would be challenging (doable, but challenging). I immediately installed the Onxyo Controller app on my iPhone. I have been pleased with the amp. You can control both zones from the app. You can actually turn on zone 2 without turning on the main receiver which is really nice in a whole house setup. The only thing I wish they would add to the app would be the ability to alter, base, treble and the A/B speaker selection. Without the A/B speader selection on the amp, you will need to have them both turned on and run an impedance matching volume control for that room if you want to turn on the amp from anywhere in the house via the app and not have both sets of speakers come on. I would have liked to simply turn on A or B from the app. The HDMI input ports is a great add for this amp providing a ton of flexibility. Overall, this receiver will not disappoint.

Onkyo TX-8270 2 Channel Network Stereo Receiver

I am very pleased with my Onkyo TX-8270 2 Channel Network Stereo Receiver. I am not an audiophile but I know what I like. My last receiver was a Harmon Kardon AVR 8000 and I find the Onkyo quite comparable in sound quality and range. It drives my Infinity floor speakers, Sub woofer, a pair of 8” Polks, and a Polkaudio Dynamic Balance mid range speaker. My second zone outside speakers never sounded better! I definitely would buy again.

Easy setup, superior sound quality

Easy setup, superior sound quality, and great for listening to albums. I did not connect to a television but with my iPhone and downloaded app I connected to my wi-fi for internet radio. The app lets me control and turn on and off from anywhere in the house. I use mostly for audio and have a set of vintage JBL L112 speakers connected. These speakers require high power to function prperly and the 100 watts per channel this receiver provides brings out the best in them. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this product for anyone interested in quality sound, connectivity, and ease of use.
