Dehumidifier
I had some doubts when purchasing this with the pump, however, this thing is stellar. Never have to empty it, and it keeps the humidity at wherever I set it to..... Works great

Great Product, Plug is easy to remove - others can’t read apparently.
Great product, easy set up. To anyone who is having problems removing the plug on the pump and has written extensively poor feedback, read the instructions again (the ones you claim are so poor). You push the dark olive/Gray ring in tha is around the plug at the base of the input. DO NOT push the plug in as you all seemed to do and got it stuck, then broke it prying it out with pliers. Literally just push the ring in and pull the plug out, then stick the hose in. It took 6 seconds. I used the edge of a ruler to push the ring in and pull out the plug. Just DONT FORCE it and it won’t break. The product is great, the people who broke the plug didn’t read the instructions.

Excellent unit, a bit more expensive upfront, but worth it in the long run
I had ordered the previous model (FAD704DWD) but the version with wifi. I had problems with it, so I returned it and ordered this one. Compared to the previous model, this one is fantastic. The quality is better, it is quieter, and has more functionality (e.g., 3 fan speeds as opposed to 2 that are pretty much the same; if the power goes out, this one restarts using the settings before it lost power, etc.). Since this newer model does not have a version that comes with wifi functionality, I plugged it into a smart wifi plug. My smart plug tells me that when the compressor is on, it uses around 570 watts. It's pretty energy efficient, but 600 watts is still a decent amount of energy usage. It is set for 40% humidity and the smart plug is programmed it so that it only turns on when we're at work (the house humidity levels tend to peak when people are taking showers). It is working out wonderfully. My highest humidity levels is now 45%, which works out pretty well for us.

Very Happy with it.
Works so well we bought a second one for basement. Very happy with this purchase. Just be careful when pulling out the plug that the small hose fits in. Push down on the grey part and then pull it out, you may break it if not.

This is an excellent dehumidifier! It's very quiet and really sucks the moist out of my moist basement! It's made all the difference in the world and dried the entire basement level. I haven't yet connected the attached hose yet, but plan on doing so this spring so I don't have to continually empty it. But I don't mind emptying it because it gives me such great pleasure knowing how well it's working. As far as value goes, I think it's reasonably priced.

The pump is a great feature for continuous use!
The dirty little secret no one tells you about de-humidifiers is that they are rated by how much water they can extract in a day, but their tanks usually hold just a fraction of that in their tanks. If you have a continuous use application, like a damp basement, that means emptying this multiple times per day - no fun at all. The pump in this model allows you to hookup a tube that can go up and into a sink or drain, which means this thing can just run all day and night in automatic mode. I've had mine going non-stop for over 3 months, set to 45% humidity and medium speed - still works like a charm. I'm glad I read the reviews about the exit tube plug being hard to remove. It's tricky, especially if you're not familiar with those type of fittings. You have to push the plastic outer ring inwards, and then pull the plug out. A pair of needle-nose pliers might help with either step if you're having trouble getting a grip.

Dehumidifier dries quickly, pump is a convenient feature
The dehumidifier itself dries my basement quickly and circulates the air better than I would have expected. I'm pleased with the relative quietness of this unit given its drying capability. More info on the pump: The pump will not kick on until the water tank is full. When it does, it basically empties the tank through the drain hose and starts over. It's difficult to see from the product photos, but the pump system is *separate* from the gravity drain. The included pump hose is around 15 feet long. The tube is around 5/16" in diameter, so I was able to fit the tube through the wall with a coax cable style pass-through into a sump pit on the other side of the wall. If you plan on using the gravity drain or emptying the tank manually, you might consider the less expensive unit without a pump and save yourself ~$80. Pros: + Relatively quiet compared to other dehumidifiers I've used. Although the fan is audible, it's difficult to tell when the compressor is running. + The powerful fan circulates air well. I found the humidity was controlled to within a few percentage points even in the parts of my basement far from where the dehumidifier was located. + The pump was very easy to set up and a ~15' drain tube was included, no adapters needed. I was able to pump it up to a sink while the dehumidifier was on the ground without shortening the pump tube. Cons: - The power cord should be longer; it's inconveniently short compared to other models. - The water tank is relatively small, so plan on using the pump or drain hose if you don't want to empty the tank multiple times per day. - The pump hose connection uses a simple push-in connection, no threads or barbs. It seems to work fine without any leaks, but I would feel better with a stronger connection to the hose.

So far so good
I'll update if this changes, but one month in this thing is going strong. Yes the pump drain connection is tricky and you should YouTube how to connect the hose, but once you do that it's pretty easy. Took me about 20 minutes to set up. I have the pump draining into a sink in the basement, and it's doing great. My electricity bill went up about 8 bucks since I've had it, but my basement is super humid so this thing runs about 80 percent of the day (it has a sensor to cut off when it's at the desired humidity). So far very happy with my purchase.

Works well...glad we bought it!
Works as advertised. Definitely reduces humidity levels. Pump works fine. I can trust to leave it running when I'm away from the house. I've tested every aspect of the machine and it has performed up to spec.It takes a lot of water out of the air. It was perfect answer to our needs.

Great Humidifier for our basement
Does our whole basement which is about 1400 sf. So far the pump works great.
