This is the radio to buy

I had to read a lot of reviews for radios before I decided on this one. Many of the other ones have fake reviews and I took a chance on this one, but I got the real deal. I normally have horrible reception in my home but I still wanted a radio for my disaster kit. As soon as I put the batteries in, my favorite station came in really clear and loud, which is simply amazing in my home. Then I took out the batteries and set the radio outside for a couple hours to test the solar charge. I wasn't expecting much because it was a cloudy day. But once again, I was amazed to find that the radio got enough juice to run on solar power too. I feel confident putting this radio in my emergency kit. Also, the customer service by Kozo is excellent.

Amazing tool!

Great little gadget. The dynamo works quite good (which is not trivial with this kind of equipment). solar panel, dynamo, radio, 2 types of light, and an alarm sound, all in a small box. Recommended.

Great radio, powerful alarm, has red and bright flashlight It works well with external and internal batteries I hope I will never need it, but good thing to have in my garage.

Good Radio -- Epecially Considering the Price

Before buying this, I read the reviews of other similar radios. I'm glad that I bought this one because it has good, clear sound. So far, I receive only one shortwave radio station at night. I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, and maybe that's all ANY shortwave radio would get. (I don't know much about shortwave radio in general.) One small complaint: The dial doesn't correctly line up with the numbers of the radio stations, but no worries. At some point, I'll mark my favorite three stations with a dot of nail polish (or something).

A good choice!

We were prompted to get a rechargeable weather radio when an F1 tornado sporting 100mph winds, hail, and heavy rain skirted past us last week by about 100 yards and left thousands without power in our area. The TV weatherman was just telling people to take cover when the electricity failed, so we had no idea what was coming. Our own home was left without power for almost 19 hours, and it would have been great to know what was going on in the world or have a bit of music. We chose this radio as it is also powered by AAA batteries and can be charged in several ways. We charged it immediately via the sturdy crank (It really worked!! So happy!!) and tuned in a local FM and weather band station. Extending the antenna helps. The stations came in well, and the sound is really pretty good. Haven't tried to recharge a cell phone, but the flashlight is fairly bright. Seems well made and is small enough to put in a pocket if need be. Hope we don't need it for emergency use, but it was a good choice for us, and very reasonably priced. Look forward to using it while working in the garden, as well!

So far, after testing it when I received the radio it is great! I have it put away, ready for use If we get a hurricane and our electricity goes out. Right now, we are in hurricane season, so I will write another review when I use it for the emergency I know will come. The sound is very clear with absolutely no static. The customer service is also terrific, and is available to help with any problems. I highly recommend this radio. Update: the emegency arrived and I had a problem with the radio. I immediately contacted the company , and the customer service is absolutely amazing! They immediately kept in contact with me and replaced it with the newer version of the radio. I am completely satisfied and will always buy a product from this company, Kozo. Thank you, Kozo!

Great customer service -- solar works, but no CHA light by design.

Great little unit and even better customer service. I thought the solar feature was not charging because the indicator light does not come on. Contacted Kozo customer service. They immediately shipped another unit and sent my question to their engineering department. It turns out the solar DOES work, but, by design, there is no indicator light (CHA) when using solar. They said that feature was changed after the instructions were printed and the instructions are not correct (regarding the CHA light when on solar). I disconnected the battery and tested the solar output and it is true -- solar does charge, but there is no CHA light when it does. The CHA light does work when using other charging methods. They just need to clear that up in their instructions. Good company, trying hard to make everything right.

Great and functional radio

Very functional emergency radio. I bought it for my son and he loved it. It’s always good to have a backup radio that works on both solar and hand crank chargers. It has so many cool and useful features such as emergency red light and a phone charger. It’s small so it doesn’t take much space. Everyone should have one it in case of an unpredictable natural disasters.

A Good, Solid Buy

I bought this NOAA radio as a birthday gift, and the recipient loves the size, weight, volume, and brightness of the light. The first radio I received did not work properly (everything worked but the radio). I emailed the seller, answered a few questions, and had a replacement in less than three days. The new one works as it should in every way and the giftee is thrilled with it. I chose this one above others because it looks great, takes regular batteries, and charges multiple ways. Those features and the terrific customer service make this little radio worth the money, for me.
