Keeps Me From Losing My Mind.

While we live out in the boonies surrounded by farm fields, we also have rude neighbors 20 feet behind and next to us, both of which have non-stop barking dogs - so the peaceful dead quietness of a night in the country is punctuated by hours of barking at two-o'clock-in-the-freak'n-morning. The dogs usually quit by 4:30 AM. Talking to the neighbors about their dogs did absolutely nothing, and was met with a 'well that's just what dogs do, they bark' excuses. Nice. With losing 2.5 hours of sleep on a nightly bases I thought I was going to lose my mind. So I purchased this Avantek noise machine and two packs of Hearos earplugs to help drown out the dogs. I am so in love with this machine. I chose one of the 'fan' settings, set a speed and volume and it's so blissful. While I can still hear the dang dogs, and they still wake me up, it does help lesson the loudness and better yet, it helps me get right back to sleep. I highly recommend this sound machine.

A "Must have" for the people who can't sleep without a fan!!

Great little box, LOVE the fan sounds. I am one that needs a fan every night, and how obnoxious that is in the winter, or traveling, now I can use this little things. Lots of sounds to pick from, lots of volume settings. It comes with a USB cord AND an AC adapter. There seems to be misconception that this doesn't come with a way to plug it in. You can plug it right into the wall, or into a computer or lamp, or other USB port, but it CAN go into the wall socket!!!! I like the blue stripe, it's just color, not a light. I don't think the white one has this.

Good price for an awesome white noise sound machine.

My hubby is a very light sleeper and has trouble staying asleep and I have trouble falling asleep. I ordered this along with a salt lamp and sleep spray to help him. OMG we love this sound machine. My husband still wakes up, but it helps him fall back asleep without tossing and turning. It has helped me fall asleep and I've noticed my sleep is much more restful now. It's the perfect size so it doesn't overwhelm the nightstand. The sounds/noises are soothing and repetitive but not distractingly so and are clear and crisp. We currently have it on the ocean sound. It arrived very quickly and I had no issues with the packaging. There were instructions included but I didn't need them thanks to other reviewers. Love it! ****UPDATE*** 1 week later and we still love this sound machine. We forgot to turn it on one night and we noticed the difference in our sleep. We woke up feeling very UNrested. So far have used the rain sound and ocean sound. The ocean sound is my fave and the rain is my husband's.

Volume and Sound Options are Great

Disclaimer: I like my white noise to be pretty loud..the main reason I bought this is because I kept getting woken up, every single morning, when my mom gets up *super early* for work. I am a light sleeper, but I do not take my sleep *lightly*. (I don't get hangry, I get TANGRY.) However, the lowest setting on this machine is quite low. It has a lower volume than a tabletop fan. Anyway, I was looking for a sound machine with good quality sound and a lot of sound options. This is, by far, the best sound machine I've ever tried. I used to use one of those white HomeEdics ones that you see all over the place, but not only is the sound quality not nearly as nice as this one, it stopped working in less than a year! For something that has everyday use written all over it, I would expect more. I have used this machine without fail for more than a year (minus traveling.) There are plenty of sound options to choose from and while there are noticeable loops on some of the recorded tracks (mainly the ocean track,) they are quite subtle and easily fade to unnoticeable when I'm doing other tasks. The machine remembers what volume and track setting you used last, so it turns on right where you turned it off. There's no significant bright lights on it, but I do keep mine pretty out of sight. I use it mostly at night with one of the white noise tracks. There are literally so many to choose from. Definitely happy with this purchase and would happily recommend to others.

Out of 4 machines I have, this is the best.

I was desperate for a good sound machine for my autistic child. We moved from a quiet island to a city and between neighbors and traffic there was no sleeping. I had very certain things I was looking for 1) it must get LOUD 2) it must have different white/brown sounds 3) it must be tough because my child already broke 4 white sound machines. 4) it must mask traffic and bangs above us from loud neighbors 5) must not sound like it’s on loop or shut off after so many hours. Happy to say this met all my needs. Live 30ft from main road,can’t hear a thing, can’t hear people above us. The machine has a huge volume selection so you find the one you want. There is a wonderful variety of sounds to choose from so you will find the one you like the best. I was nervous to spend $$ on this but it was so worth getting a good nights sleep. It’s also very calming for kids or adults having meltdowns.

This is the Rolls of white noise machines. Buy this. The available sounds and tones are amazing. I suffer from tinnitus and it is difficult to get something to cover up that constant noise. This machine does it better than I ever thought possible. Also very important, the sounds are not looping. It is surprisingly easy to detect the loop on most sound machines. No loop here, so you won't go bonkers waiting for the next repeat to happen in your head. Do not waste your money on a cheap noise machine... (conair) They short out after minimal use and the loops are ridiculous. This looks modern and super cool on my nightstand. The sound quality is rich and sounds much better than I anticipated. Every once in a while I run across a product that is just so darn good that my quest for a better one ends. This is such a product. This is the last kind of sound/white noise machine I will ever use. Easy to travel with too! But this! You and your sleep will love it.

Great for any age!

We put this in our baby’s nursery and use it for every nap and every night. This is a great sound machine for any age, baby-adult. It has many different sounds to choose from. It is small and takes up little space. Also, it has a timer which is very useful.

I don't know how I managed without this

I probably can't add to anything already posted, but so far delighted - doesn't feel cheap; I haven't noticed any looping, it's unobtrusive with a variety of sounds, and thank gawd I don't have to have a fan on just for some white noise - LOL love my fans, but when it's coldest my fans are enough to sort of counter the heat, so something had to be done. I'm giving another as a gift. Also it doesn't have an overly-bright light that you have to tape over like a lot of stuff does, just to block the light.

I love this sound machine

I love this sound machine. I'm a very light sleeper so any soind can wake me. I've a few different sound machines over the years, but recently haven't needed one because we have a ceiling fan. We just moved and now that the sun is out the birds in the morning have been louder than the ceiling fan and they wake me up. What I like is no only the small size, but the sound quality is excellent and some of the sounds are so different and they sound so real. My favorite right now is Arctic wind. It makes me feel cold and snuggle into the my blankets and I can adjust the volume perfectly for me.
