Since receiving it have made about one pitcher of iced tea a day. Ice cubes dumped into the empty pitcher do not break it. Hot tea poured into it do not break it. A couple times when I set it down a bit too hard it did not break. It's pretty, the handle is convenient and makes it very easy to pour, with no dribbles after. The mesh at the top is a bit fine -- if you put lemon in the tea in the pitcher, the fine pulp will collect there and clog, but for plain tea it is fine (I think it could be easily removed leaving the metal disk which would be adequate for ice). It is really a surprisingly nice combination of light, thin glass while being strong enough to take the abuse of ice and hot tea. Well done.

Just got it today. As soon as I opened it I felt it's too light and fragile, like a regular liquor glass . There were multiple scratches and imperfections throughout the bottle. Mostly minors, as if it was not handled carefully when packaged. The scratches on the bottom were more pronounced, as pictured. This has me concerned about pouring boiling water into it or putting it too long in the fridge. The handle looks like it can break off if it is to bear the full weight of the bottle. I hope it wouldn't... The cap is more of aluminum then steel to my touch, so I hope it'll not rust too soon (if at all). The seller already emailed me about their 100% support for their items, so that's a positive thing. I will keep updating as I use it - planning to use it for hot tea then letting the tea cool to make some fruity iced tea. If things hold out (or their support as good as they said), then Hiware definitely will win this customer. A three for now due too all my concerns. Hope this helps someone decide. Contacted Hiware about the problem. They offered a refund or exchange without taking the pitcher back. Just starting to use the bottle. Everything seemed fine. Didn't use boiling water and put it straight in the fridge. Didn't try to use it to boil water. But definitely 5stars for the company to reach out and offer refund within 48 hours via email.

I'm really enjoying this pitcher. I use it to cool my mountain valley spring water. Works great! It feels sturdy and looks classy and refreshing. Glad I purchased!

Very nice pitcher, feels very light so be careful in handling it while it's empty. Has a nice filter on the cover, it's great for separating different content from the liquid inside. If it is ice or fruits, the filter piece keeps them inside while pouring the juice into the cop.

Hearing about all the dangers of plastic I decided to go with a glass pitcher for my iced tea and ditch the plastic one. I went to my local mega stores and every thing I looked at had a warning label to not put hot liquids inside. Frustrated I did some research online and found that anything made with borosilicate glass should be safe. I got this pitcher after reading the reviews etc. and the only thing I was disappointed about was the size. I thought it'd be much bigger but then again I thought to myself, that I'd have fresher tea because of it and it wasn't that big a deal. I tried to find someone that was bold enough to put the pitcher directly on the fire and boil water that way but I didn't see a review like that. Well, after washing it I gave it a test run and filled it up halfway with water and placed on my stove top hoping for the best. The water came to a boil with no ill effects and I dropped my 3 large tea bags in there and let it simmer. Afterwards I topped it off with cool water and stuck it in the frig. When I run out I rinsed it out and not giving it time to acclimate to room temperature put more water in and turned on the fire. No nasty cracking noise and I knew it was a keeper! I've repeated the process a number of times now and I'm really happy with it and am even getting used to the smaller size. I'm making iced tea more often but it's fresher and I think it tastes better. Ignore all the negative comments especially the ones that tell you not to put boiling water in it because I put it through the ringer and I'm really loving it!!!

This is a very good pitcher, made with quality and durable material built with an optional removable filtering screen which can be removed or used in place. I liked what I received so much that I immediately ordered a second pitcher. The fact that these pitchers are made of glass are preferential to plastic containers which become discolored and scratched in short periods of time. The fact that this item cost more than plastic same size containers, for me, is well worth the additional costs

This pitcher is perfect for my uses. I expected a more utilitarian-looking pitcher, but received a very pretty container with a handle that is actually wider and more substantial (but still sleek in appearance) than I thought I was settling for. The lid has a strainer that is small enough to take out everything from ice cubes to orange juice pulp. The strainer wasn't really apparent to me on the picture (I thought it was some sort of metal band) but is similar to what is in a coffee press and is removable for cleaning. No, I haven't dropped it on the floor or into my sink, so I don't know if it breaks easily. I also haven't used it for anything hot although they say it would be ok to do so. But I do know that it's pretty, easy to clean, will hold 2 quarts, and will fit in my refrigerator. That's what I wanted. The item came well-packaged and on time.

A glass pitcher that can take boiling water! I have been searching for several years to replace a similar pitcher I accidentally dropped on the floor and smashed. This is a nice size for making hot tea in the morning for the entire family and I can serve it right from the pitcher. I also use it to brew hot tea to eventually make into iced tea. I let the tea cool to room temp and then place in the refrigerator. The top fits snugly but not so tight that it is a battle to get it off. the handle, which looks like it is too thin is PERFECT for your hand and it holds the weight of the pitcher full with liquid. I have been using this EVERY DAY since it arrived and I might just buy another as a backup! I don't believe this glass pitcher can be recycled with regular glass because it has been treated to make it heat-resistant. Like Corningware and Pyrex, you have to find a bulk recycler who takes those kinds of glass. If this ever cracked, I'd glue it and use it to grow herbs on the patio or something. I am simply THRILLED with this product.

I've owned this for 6 months now, purchased Jan 2019. I've used it consistently every other day to make iced tea. I place it directly on an electric burner to boil water, let it cool almost completely, then put in the fridge for about 2 days. I rarely post reviews but I just wanted to help others who might be worried about putting it directly on a burner. I bought another one off Amazon (Artcome 55oz) and the bottom cracked completely off on my 2nd use. I'm extremely happy with this pitcher!

Love this lightweight pitcher. I just want to keep cold water in the fridge, but it offers other benefits as well. If you want to create fruit or vegetable infused flavored water, the strainer lid will keep the particles out when you pour yourself a glass. That will also work to keep out pulp from orange juice if you don't like that, and of course would be great for freshly made tea either with leaves or bags immersed. About the orange juice... what if some family member likes pulp in their juice and others don't. By using this pitcher, you can satisfy both, by leaving the lid on or removing it when pouring. The handle is generous and works for big hands as well as small, plus it's sturdy, but the glass itself is very lightweight. That makes a big difference when the pitcher is full of liquid, especially if it will reside on a top fridge shelf, like in my fridge, and needs to be lifted down. I don't have the arm strength I once did and greatly appreciate the lighter weight. The pitcher is also attractive enough to serve water or whatever at the table, and because it's lightweight is easier to pass and handle when sitting down.
