Just what I was looking for

Flexible vinyl tubing makes for easy placement of emitters

Unlike the stiff tubing that you usually find at the hardware store this is flexible tubing which makes it easy to route from the 1/2 or 5/8" tubes to the emitters. I dip the end (~1/2") of the tube into near-boiling water for ~5 seconds which softens the tubing and makes it much easier to slide over the barb.
