Smokes good, cool down and shut off feature
Pros: Smokes good, cool down and shut off feature, large grilling surface, with upper grill, even heat, Bright temp control with live digital readout, bottom shelf, sturdy heavy gauge metal construction and heavy duty wheels, not the cheap plastic ones. Pellet bin can be used as a work shelf 40 lbs of free pellets worth $60 Cooks juicy even cooked meat with smoke flavor also adjustable. Undeniably flavorful and good. There is an access hole in the side of the grill for meat probe wire, eliminating closing lid on the wire. Excellent warranty and customer service Cons: Out of production. The new model grill is smaller for the same price but is made of stainless steel. There is no Pellet shoot if you want to replace with a different type of pellets. There is no clean-out for the ash in the fire box. The existing probe wire access hole in the side is too close to the grill possibly burning of damaging your probe wire. Not a con but nice options to look for: There is no meat probe or jack in the controller. You have to supply your own probe with its own controller. No optional equipment like a front shelf, right side shelf, sear box, or grill cover As to accommodate for a sear box or work shelf on the right side the chimney stack should be mounted in the rear. Not a con but a pat on the back for excellent customer service. After one month of use, I had a faulty on/off switch burn out. The supplier Fed-X next day all the parts needed to repair. The repair took less than 15 minutes as it was plug and play (see photos)

Great smoker/grill
Let me start out by saying read read read the book. If you don’t have patience you will get frustrated. It takes time to regulate the heat after firing. I’ve seen reviews saying it doesn’t hold temp, that is where patience comes in. I would say it takes a good 30 mins to get it to temp and hold. I start at the smoke setting. Then what for the fire to start. When the smoke disappears close the lid and what for it to reach 275- 300. Then set desired temp for your cook and wait. It will regulate the temp on its own. I hope this helps.

Great all around smoker and grill.
Overall this is a great grill, works as advertised and easy to use. First, this thing is *solid*. Arrives in two boxes totaling 180lbs, no cheap, flimsy materials here. For a mass produced grill the workmanship is very good, the assembly instructions are easy and straightforward and everything is well labeled, no guesswork. Much like the materials the fit and finish is top notch, no having to force things to fit and once assembled the grill looks great. Some of the early reviews complained about temperature control, but that seems to have been an early run of bad controllers (mentioned in a Business Insider review). my grill has been very stable with it’s temperatures, usually with a few degrees of the set temperature, this can easily be attributed to my probe not being in the same location as the built in one (see photo below). I can highly recommend this grill for both smoking (my main use) and grilling so if you only have space for a single grill / smoker, this can easily handle both.

Five Stars
Works as good as Traeger but more affordable. The design is also better from my prospective

Natural Oak flavor
This is a great grill. Used it to smoke a brisket and grill filet mignons. None of the charcoal and lighter fluid taste you get from past grilling methods. Just a natural and earthy flavor from smoke using oak wood. This is the way it should always be done!

From a first timer pellet grill owner
This is my first pellet grill so I’ve got no basis for comparison. A few notes from a first timer: Cooked my first whole chicken last night. Absolutely fantastic! Temperature was about +/- 5 degrees. Can’t wait to do the Thanksgiving turkey. Unlike what I’ve read about the Traeger, there is no easy way to remove unused pellets. Evidently, they absorb moisture and clog up the auger if you don’t. I had to use my shop vac which kind of ruined them. I knew ambient temperature would affect pellet use, but it used a LOT more than I expected on a 40 degree day. Smoke does come out through the lid, but I don’t see where that affected the food. I don’t know if more expensive grills are sealed tighter or not. I LOVE that I could open the lid enough to see my meat thermometer and only lose about 10 degrees. Got back up to temperature very quickly. Unless you are storing it inside, don’t even think about saving $30 and buying one without the cover. It took me about 2 hours to put it together by myself. Instructions aren’t great but are adequate. Very heavy and feels like a quality piece of equipment. All in all, assuming it holds up, I couldn’t be more pleased especially since the one I got was $150 less through the third party than the other seller. I could never justify paying $1000 for a name brand one.

Great wood pellet grill
PACKAGE & ASSEMBLY: It came in two carefully wrapped packages. All parts look strong and are made of good quality stainless steel. The packages include all tools and instructions needed for assembly. I was amazed by how delicate the tools package is. It even includes a screwdriver! The instructions are detailed and the assembly is not complicated. EASY TO USE: The grill uses 110V outlet. It’s very easy to use. Just pull enough pellets into the Pellet Hopper, turn on the switch, turn the Temperature Dial to SMOKE and then to your desired temperature setting when you see the smoke coming out. Once it preheats to your desired temperature, you’re ready to put food on the rack. I like the auto temperature control since it freed me from monitoring. Just turning the food every ten minutes or so would suffice. I used pecan pellets for party wings. The grilled wings are juicy inside and have wood fire flavor that I really like. A small amount of pellets lasted a long time. The grilling area is large enough for a larger party. It’s even more economic to grill more food the same time. EASY TO CLEAN: I wrapped the Grease Drain Pan as the instruction recommended and it made cleaning the grill very easy. The cute little Grease Bucket collected drained grease and kept my patio floor clean. I also got a free waterproof grill cover to protect the grill when not used. Overall I’m very satisfied with the grill.

Best food we've ate in a long time
I've been a non griller and instead learned the classic technique of broiling my meats for years. But we decided it was time to get a pellet grill. I shopped many brands and chose this one because of price for grilling surfacing size. I have not been disappointed at all in this grill. The ONE suggestion I have is if you going to slow smoke a meat make SURE you give the grill time to settle in on the set temperature. I've rushed it before and had some fluctuations in temp. However, I did purchase a meat probe to help get accurate and safe final temps for meats and I've found the grill thermometer reads a little higher than my external probe. Small issue to overcome in my opinion. We smoked a whole standing side of Prime Rib (20+ lbs) and it fit perfectly in the grill. And our party guests asked us when we going to do it again. Everyone was pleased with final results. Get good quality flavored pellets and take your time learning to slow smoke your meats and you will discover a whole new palate of flavor you've been missing.

Great Pellet Smoker/Grill
Wow! I got my grill assembled on Friday and I have used it every day since. This thing is awesome and to me seems every bit as high quality as the big dogs in this category. Looked at the other brand that everyone raved about and I see very little difference aside from the controller. I have smoked ribs and am currently doing a pork shoulder in sub 30° weather without issue. I did pick up a 6x8" welding blanket and this did help my temps stabilize and will hopefully help with pellet consumption. At some point I may upgrade with the Peelet Pros controller to get WiFi capability but for the most part I am really, really happy with my purchase. I'd have never attempted smoking meats in cold weather on my old bullet smoker but this thing make it easy! Great results with Burgers and veggies too! Love it. Packaging is HD. There are 2 main boxes and many boxes and foam inserts within. Tools that come with it can and should be tossed. Screwdriver is too small for the supplied screws and the wrench is worthless. Bring you own tools. Directions refer to screws as nuts. this is important to note at the beginning of the build.

Great grill and great food.
Been absolutely loving this grill since i got it. Ribs, salmon and burgers have all been perfect, flavorful, and as easy as could be. You need to allow the grill to warm up in the smoke setting with the lid open for 15 min till that initial pellet dump ignites and burns down. My smoke setting consistently holds in the 168- 175 range for hours. Perfect. Be patient with any change in temp on the dial. You are going to get a spike as the grill ramps up but it has always settled back in after the pellet dump to get it up to the higher temps. I think people are way to focused on exact temps from what the dial says and fluctiations in temps. Thats where the smoke comes from. Ive not noticed any major swings like set it to 275 and see temps of 400 and hold there. Just the initial spike as the pellets fuel it up and yes it goes past 275 for a bit as they burn off but has always settled back in and stays well within the range. External probe confirms the temp reading on the hopper is pretty accurate as well. Very minor discrpency of a few degrees. Nothong that would impact the final product at all. And this thing burns efficiently with good pellets. 6 hour cooks leaves very very little ash in the burn pot. Its every easy to clean out with a shop vac or even a small spoon. Its not the chore or hassle some folks make it out to be. Only thing that would be nice would be a pellet dump to clear the hopper and change pellet types. Ive been extremely happy with the performance and the end result on the food ive made. You cant really screw it up. No worries about flare ups means you can throw aspargus on and all you have to do is worry about how tender you want it and no scorch from olive oil dripping off. Its also the best looking pellet grill in my opinion compared with the majority of the competition. Looks, build, price and most of all the quality of the food coming off it have made the 700d a great investment. How it holds up over time will be something to watch but seeing as it has made me want to try new recipies and different meats to smoke and try new approches to old favorites ill be sure to get my moneys worth of enjoyment in no time. Kudos on the free cover as well. Just make sure you use some quality pellets and enjoy your creations. Cant wait to get a brisket on this soon.
