I bought this for use with a Jetpack MiFi 4510L which has a TS9 connector. When I first plugged it in I was disappointed to see that the SINR - LTE reported by the Jetpack only changed slighly, from -1dB to 0 or 1. I unplugged it without even trying it out and it sat in a drawer for a couple of weeks. I few days ago we had a storm and sure enough as soon as the weather closed in on the nearby mountains (when the towers are) the celldata connection to the internet slowed way down and had total dropouts. I was on project deadline, needed that internet connection, so tried the antenna again as a last resort. Surprise, the connection returned to solid, reliable, and fast. This is a good reminder that QOS (quality of signal) reported by a mobile device are for the receiver. We can't tell easily what the tower receives from the mobile end. The antenna also improves transmitter performance. Under marginal conditions this antenna changes a spotty and unusable connection to nearly perfect. If there's no connection at all without this antenna then it might not work. If your connection is already good without it then you don't need it. If your connection suffers from intermittent slow speed and the SINR - LTE parameter reported by your device is 0dB or less (one or two bars) then this antenna is really great. I wish the cable were shorter. Minor quibble.

I purchased two of these antennas and connected them to my NETGEAR 4G LTE Cellular Modem. The LED signal bars on the modem didn't change immediately but in a couple of minutes, the signal strength jumped to between 4-5 bars on the modem...higher than I have ever seen in this location. I've used cellular amps and repeaters for years and it's very common for cell tower output to vary based on various conditions throughout the day so I did notice the signal strength changing from time to time. However, overall, the signal strength remained higher than without the antennas and a little less directional since the antennas are omnidirectional. I think they're worth the money and will keep them in my "go kit" for my portable wi-fi system. Update 2019-02-02 This antenna is the difference between 1 bar of AT&T signal vs. 4 bars at the Walt Disney World Polynesian Resort. It continues to work great connected to our Netgear LTE Cellular Router. The router has two antenna connections but I'm only using one connection to this antenna...near perfect signal. Disconnect the antenna and the signal drops. Proof enough for me.

I'm not sure why the others are having problems with this product. My new Sprint ZTE Warp WiFi was getting a poor signal due to where we live. It has two ports for antennae, so I purchased two of these, plugged them in and threw the antennae on my roof as far apart as I could get them. I still have to mount them on something so they stand upright, but even just laying on my roof my connection went up a full bar. I just bought two more for my daughters router.

I had bought the Netgear 4G modem with failover from wireline broadband to 4G, as our home internet goes out often, and it has ports for antennas; Got this and plugged it in, and I watched our (Barely usable) -115 signal jump to -106~108. The speed increase we saw from the increased signal strength made the 4G modem much, much more viable and more than paid for itself.

Be mindful of people who leave reviews and have know idea what they planned on doing with the product they purchased. This is for connecting to the back of a 4g modem (not a cell phone). Where I am using our 4g modem, inside of a metal building connected to our router and does not get great reception by itself. I simply plugged this into the back of it and ran it outside and now I get full bars and way better upload and download speeds. Its very simple and has a good amount of cord length to string it outside. Try and get it as high as possible and put it on the side of your house that is close to your nearest cell tower

I work in refineries, and my office is a "BRM" Blast resistant module, needless to say, the walls are thick. I rely on my Verizon jet pack wifi deal and in the brm I couldn't send an email.... yesss a single email! bought this puppy and set her with the magnetic base on the roof of the building. Do note, not sure if its the thick paint coating on the building (building is made of steel) but the magnetic base is a bit weak not sure how well it will do on a truck. But as far as improving my signal and internet connection speed A++++ I can now stream videos with out interruptions, Granted internet speeds are decent here.

Review written several months after continual use: I live in a Very rural area, nearest and only Verizon Tower is about 5 miles east of me. Next closest one is 30 miles away. I have this set up connected to my Verizon Jetpack 6620L MiFi, [which is my Only mode of connecting to the internet] on a shelf near my ceiling with a jar lid adhering to the antenna's magnetic base, with the Antenna laying on its side, pointing out towards a window in the direction of the VZ Tower. Prior to using this, I was only getting 2-3 Bars reception with -90's to -70's dBm Signal Strength on my Verizon Jetpack MiFi 6620L for internet access. Now I am getting consistent 4 Bars with increase to -60's to -30's Signal Strength, which has made the difference in now being able to stream videos online without constant buffering and losing connection. (Remember, The LOWER the dBm Signal Strength minus number reading is, the better, as the ideal is as close to Zero as possible.) I have also taped the Antenna Female connector gently down to the Jetpack Male post also and don't move it since I found the optimal direction towards the VZ Tower (based upon the dBm readings my Jetpack provides). Definitely worth the price and will probably provide even better Signal Strength readings if you have a VZ Tower, or more of them, closer to you than I do. NOTE: Product is NOT meant for Outdoor or Mobile Applications! The Magnetic base on the Antenna is there to adhere to a piece of iron metal, to help increase your signal strength; NOT to use on top of a vehicle in motion! This product only weighs a few ounces, to be used to enhance MiFi and/or Cell Phone reception via WiFi; preferably Indoors. {Though you CAN use it outside TEMPORARILY if you are not moving around After you catch a WiFi signal; it will enhance it; I can catch my neighbor's signal, who is 1/2 mile away; but it is not usable as the dBm is in the high -90's. If I walk 1300 feet (1/4 mile) towards his signal; it becomes usable in the -80's dBm range}. I Couldn't pick it up at all before I bought this. So "Potential Purchasers", Please ignore all the Reviews that purchased the Wrong product; Those Reviewers should have purchased a Vehicle Heavy Duty Antenna, not this, which works very well when set up Indoors in a Stationary position. Geez!

I live in a 1 bar area of town. This antenna did not increase my bars but it does increase the speed dramatically. I went from 0.7 download speed to 8.0 on my ZTE Warp Connect from Sprint. Excellent!

Wow this product works great!! My Verizon MiFi has signal once again inside my dungeon at work. For those that are in a similar situation, the nearest window to my office is about 75 feet away. This bad boy will not reach anywhere near the window, but it definitely picks up signal and brings it back for my enjoyment!

Let me start by stating my expectations- The goal of buying these antennae (2x) was to move my Netgear MR1100 (Nighthawk M1) from the upstairs to the basement, where I have no/very little service. To start with, I tried connecting these upstairs, where my M1 is already. Without anything I connected, I had approximately these stats: RSRP= -104, RSRQ= -14, Quality= 46 A speedtest via google speedtest gave me approx. 30Mb down and 10-15Mb up thru various tests. . After connecting the 2 antennae, I had no noticeable changes. So I was very skeptical. A further test I tried was wrapping my M1 loosely in aluminum foil a couple of times, which lessened my reception to something like: RSRP= -116, RSRQ= i dont recall, but worse, and RS-SINR went from 0 to ... something higher, but i dont recall what. I tried taking screenshots every step but missed this one. Anyway, once I connected the antennae, it went back to the "normal" stats...... So I figured I would give it a shot in the basement (knowing I had to drill a hole for the exterior wire run). . In the basement, my M1 stats were something like: RSRP= -112, Quality= 35. My DL speed stayed in the upper 20's but my Upload speed dropped to under 1Mb consistently over several tests. After connecting the antennae (which are outside, on the topside of my heat pump), my stats returned to the normal (maybe slightly better). . 1 note..... Connecting only 1 of the antennae seemed to have my "stats" looking okay. My DL speed seemed to remain close to 30Mb but my upload speed was only about 1/2- around 6Mb. When having both connected (and on opposite corners of my heat pump), I returned to the 30ish Mb down and 12-15Mb upload speeds. . So what is your goal? - Increasing signal strength? - getting signal somewhere outside of the room you are in ? I am very happy with this product. It did NOT increase my signal strength (noticeably) at all. HOWEVER, it did allow me to put the device in a location with little-to-no-signal and run the antennae to an exterior location and maintain my previous signal strength.
