I've had about 20 cups of espresso from my Essenza Mini so far and am very happy with it. I use this at work and its just about as good as the larger machine I have at home. I am very particular about my cup of espresso and took a few years to perfect but now I don't really even like Starbucks -they can't make it to my perfection. The machine is small, compact and lightweight - I may take it with me on my next vacation if I can find a nice travel case for it. Finding a portable machine that makes a decent espresso has alluded me so far. I did find reusable capsules for this so I can drink my favorite french roast and also save a lot of money. Filling your own capsules takes practice and patience but its well worth it. As noted in a previous review, some of the parts are thin plastic but this is what makes it so light weight for a pump espresso machine. The only real con that was also noted in a review is that the setting for the shorter cup does not give you a hot cup of brew -its luke warm no matter how I tried to heat the cup. The taller setting gives a perfectly hot cup - can't figure out why there would be such a difference in temperature but the larger size has been consistently hot. So there you have it from an espresso lover - this machine rocks!

The nesspresso is a must have for anyone who loves coffee. The slick small design makes it easy to put on a kitchen counter and doesn't make it look cluttered. Ever since I got this coffee maker I have not had to go to Starbucks to get my coffee fix. I love it! It does make a bit of noise compared to other ones, but honestly how good that coffee comes out it makes up for it!

Been trying not to buy one of these (a pod espresso machine) for so long, but the new tiny one is so small and great! I love it so much and since it's so small I've thought about taking it on vacations with me from now on. I didn't pack it last time cause that's silly, but in a hotel for a week and no good way to heat water for VIA packets, this would have been a dream. The bonus is that the pods are recyclable so there's less guilt about the single use pods.

For many years I have confused Nespresso with Nescafe. I thought it was some sort of quality instant coffee. Then at Thanksgiving I had my first experience with a Nespresso coffee making machine. I love it! It's very easy to use and it makes, I think, some the best tasting espresso and coffee that I've ever had. It was very surprising to me. I bought this Essenza for the smaller footprint. It fits very neatly on my kitchen counter. It gets the job done and makes not only espresso (about 1.4 oz) but also what they call espresso lungo which is about 4 oz. I have been grinding my own beans and making pour-through coffees for ages BUT in comparison I really think this method is tastier, much faster, super convenient and I rather enjoy the sound the machine makes. About pods: This machine is what they are calling an "Old Line" machine. The new-line machines use differently shaped pods. The pods are not cross compatible. The new line pods are more expensive as there are fewer companies making and selling them. Whichever type you buy there are espresso pods and also what they call Lungo pods. Lungo pods are more coffee-like strength-wise. A neat trick I picked up is to push the espresso button to make an espresso and then when its done also push the lungo button to add another 4 ounces of hot water through the pod. It's a way to make an Americano (a watered-down espresso). It has so much more flavor than most cups of brewed coffee. Lungo is a different pod.

This is my second Nespresso classic machine--we have a Pixie at home, this one in RED is for work. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this machine at the price. Although it's lighter than the more expensive Pixie, it is both smaller and QUIETER. I mean, a *lot* quieter. Perfect for the office environment. It does a perfectly adequate job on espresso. Lungos get a little bitterness--I think it has a hard time holding temperature through 4oz water. Even so, the Lungos aren't bad--just not as good as through the Pixie. I've had the machine for six months, about 250 espressos and lungos so far. The machine shows no signs of giving up, I'm hopeful I'll get at least a couple years' daily use out of it. Just bought a second, just like it, for my son in college. I recommend it.

I was traveling in Greece and the AirBnB where I stayed had a Nespresso. It made a lovely little cup of coffee - every morning, exactly perfect. So, I bought 2 when I came home. The Pixie is for the office, and the mini Essenza is for home. Both make the same cup - the Pixie is perhaps prettier and has a larger spent capsule hold. My Starbucks (and vending machine soda) budget has become much smaller, and this is way easier and tidier than a drip machine. It makes a better cup than Keurig (it's not coffee, just brown water). I'm pretty sure that it's paid for itself now that I'm not buying my caffeine fix on the go. It's worth it to join the Nespresso club and buy the capsules in bulk. They are priced competitively, and I see no reason to buy the offbrand capsules.

I bought this for my boyfriend's birthday a few months ago and we are absolutely obsessed. The machine works perfectly, is very easy to use, and we haven't had any problems with it in the 6 months we've had it so far. The espresso comes out foamy and delicious. The only problem is we are basically addicted and it's an expensive habit (especially since the Nespresso pods are the best we've tried). Just a heads up, it's cheaper to buy the Nespresso pods from the Nespresso website (vs on Amazon) and they throw in a gift on orders of 100 pods. If you're thinking about going in on this... remember to consider the yearly cost of buying pods. I'd say it's worth it (but I'm also in too deep)

I love this little espresso machine. I spent a long time agonizing over what to get, and I'm so glad I went with this simple machine. It's so easy to operate and keep clean, and it's the right size for our 2-3 cup of coffee per day household. I also spent a long time agonizing over getting a capsule machine at all because of the waste in packaging. However, I learned that Nespresso recycles the capsules (and provides free postage-provided recycle bags), so I decided it wasn't too environmentally irresponsible.

I've had coffee. Coffee shops, specialty shops, coffee chains, and mom-and-pop shops. My favorite was a Portuguese Coffee Shop that was in town for just a short while. They made Thee Best coffee, ever. People would order espresso at lunch-time. I would do hair at our shop a few doors down. They used ILLY coffee. They had their machine set at perfect. I've bought espresso machines over the years (lower cost ones), learning them, but never learned the curve for excellence. I saw a lady on You-Tube that had her machine 6 years and still loves it. That's what got me to finally take the plunge on this one. I need small, this has 19 bars pressure (whoosh) and no needing to care for a high-end coffee bean grinder (and keep it clean to run smoothly) when you can buy pods. These pods keep the coffee so fresh! This Nespresso heats up in about 30 seconds. Pop your cappuccino mug into the microwave with milk to heat up the milk and the mug. Take out and whisk with battery operated hand-held frother. Pop frothed milk mug under machine and press the button. With-in 2 minutes, from heating milk to the last drop of espresso dripping into your mug, you are sipping on a cloud of heaven. I bought these mugs (perfect) for anything from espresso up to espresso latte/cappuccino. Konitz Coffee Bar Amore Mio No.4 Cappuccino Cups/Saucers, Set of 4 With heating the milk first, then add the coffee, these mugs stay nice and warm the whole time while drinking. I tried the India pod thinking I would like it the least. I had it 3 days in a row and it's really good. Just tried Rome and the flavor seemed flatter than the India which popped in my tastebuds, lots of flavors bursting with that one. I am appreciating coffee so much more as it's so much better than the large mugs of watered-down brewed coffee. The espresso is such a treat. I always thought it was all hype, coffee is coffee....not so. *Tried the Purple Color Decaf pod as espresso and it was delicious! Just espresso and 2 brown sugar packets. Heavenly. ***Update Apr/5/08: The BEST espresso/coffee maker I've ever owned. So easy, so delicious. I've tried almost every coffee flavor they have and they are all delicious, each has a subtle difference but they are all good. The best part...I'm now drinking my cappuccinos without sugar or any sweetener. I've never had unsweetened coffee before and now I prefer it. If this machine ever breaks I will replace it. The coffee tastes so fresh, even the decaf is delightful. Guests try the espresso (they've never had it before) and love it.

Usually, I don’t rush to buy new kitchen toys because I don’t like to be disappointed. As a last resort, I always read the worst reviews in order to dissuade myself from shopping. And yes, I google product comparison reviews and price options before placing an order. I’ve been drinking Keurig single serve coffee for years at my work place. Although it is very reliable and affordable, the coffee it makes is taste like soup even from my favorite, freshly grinned beans. I’ve missed espresso for so long, so I was set to buy an affordable espresso maker. The Nespresso Essenza Mini perfectly meets all of my requirements. Buying this tiny-shiny espresso maker is worth every penny for someone who prefer espresso over dripping coffee. First, about the taste. This Nespresso machine makes a strong and flavorful Italian espresso that even smells heavenly. And yes, it comes with the signature cream on the top. Second: the quality of the machine. The body made from metal, the painting is smooth and shiny. Nice to touch it. Surprisingly, the plastic parts are very good quality too. Maybe I am lucky, but my machine does not leak at all. Third: easy to use Just follow the manual it is correct. Heating the water takes 25 seconds for a Lungo just as indicated in the manual. Actually, I think it is faster than Keurig. Placing the pod correctly requires some practice. I wish the manual would have a picture about it. (When the pod is in a good position, the pod tilts down a bit and not horizontal. It won’t fall down even though it seems. When you push the arm down gently, it will turn the pod in vertical position.) The pump makes some noise but it is acceptable and not loud as I read in some reviews. Bonus: The machine is surprisingly small therefore it was easy to fit into my busy countertop. Forth: price of a cup of espresso I drink Vergnano and a pod costs 35 cents All in all, I’m very satisfied this product. Did I mentione that it is red? =)
