Pc detects it withour issue and the reader reads cards withour issue. Speed works well though usb 3.0 ports when copying to or from media devices that also have matching or quick speeds (if its something like a 10k rpm hdd or slow sd card expect slower speeds obviously.) It also has a good design look better than most cheap readers. It does what its suppose to do, reliably, plain and simple.

Where's my coat?

I had some tiny micro small memory jiggers that needed readin. I thought quick and ordered this and made sure it was usb 3.0 . Once it came I realized that I had like 2 laptops laying around that could have done the job. Still, this piece of plastic can be handy because my desktop doesn't have a reader for these cards. ...I'm going to go cry now and convince myself I'm not an impulse buyer.

Easy, fast, and big enough to not lose!

Some may see the size of this SD card reader as a minus, but having a large, chunky stick on my messy desktop makes it easier to spot than some of the smaller micro SD readers I've used. Since I have both standard and micro cards, this is a great option for reading either one -- one device does what I need with two formats. I was a little concerned because it was so cheap, but it's performed very well for several months now.

This is a great item. My port on my desktop stopped working. Put this USB reader along with my camera memory card into a USB port and was able to transfer my pictures to the computer with no problems. Works great and is fast and easy to use. I bought 2 to always have on hand.

not sure if it is this adapter or the sd card or a combination of both but im very happy with them

just got this today and returned another one i bought from here (rocketek) that got WAY too hot after a simple format and file copy of about 1.6gb of data to it. i put in my PNY 32gb microsd card into this thing, copied the image off it, formatted it, then wrote the image back and while it did get a little warm, it was no where near as hot as the other one. while i was writing the image back to the sd card i saw the write speed was up over 90MB/s and thought i should get a screenshot of that. not sure if it is this adapter or the sd card or a combination of both but im very happy with them. by the time i took the screenshot it dropped to 83.4MB/s and when the image write was done after 7 minutes, it finished at around 72MB/s this is the microsd card i used that i got here on amazon PNY Elite-X 32GB microSDHC Card with Adapter-UHS-I, U3 - up to 90MB/sec (P-SDU32U390EX-GE)

Great Product for Writing MicroSD Cards

This item is so cheap. Surprisingly, its quality is great! I purchased two of this and ran a little bit speed test. The transfer and write speed performs as good as it should be! Also, it has a cap that's constantly attached on the reader. I no longer have to worry about losing it anymore. Nice design! In all, I highly recommend this product.😀

Access contents of memory cards easily and well

I used this device to configure the SD card for my high-end electronic lightsaber. Using it, I can swap out sound fonts that I acquire online and then just pop the SD card back into the saber. I imagine most will probably use it to access photos from the memory card of a digital camera or something, but for me this device has worked exactly as I had hoped and was worth every penny. I can't speak to the durability factor really, because I keep it in a desk drawer, but I does not seem flimsy or rickety to me at all.

Works exactly as it was supposed to.

Found an old camera at mom’s and knew there would be treasures on it. Only problem, none of our computers had a card reader! I ordered this on prime, and the next day began perusing ancient cards with pictures of beloved family members, some of whom have departed. This little tool worked just like it was supposed to and gave mom, and all of us, really, some joy. I have used it successfully with both my macbook pro and my dell pc.

Best adapter I've owned.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. But when it came in, I immediately noticed the durability and stiffness. I have received similar products that sometimes come with microsd cards as free add-ins. Those are cheap and typically very slow. After I plugged in the microsd card I had my first issue with it... the microsd has to be inserted upside down. I know, I know... why is that an issue. For 2 reasons. 1) I have OCD and 2) there always has to be at least 1 minor complaint. Other than that, this thing is everything it claims. USB 3.0 speeds (although I was only transferring at 80MBps, it was the limitation of the microsd card not the unit itself) and very durable.
