Like many other reviewers, I have tried all sorts of brands and types of cat litter. I wanted one that didn't smell by itself or after use and was dustless. I finally found this brand of litter in the light weight type and liked it very well on all counts except for the trail of tracked kitty litter through 3 rooms in my house. I then switched to the conventional heavy weight model and I'm staying with it forever. I have 2 cats and 3 litter boxes which I clean once a week. I never smell ammonia and rarely the 'other stuff' - only sometimes just after a visit to the 'facilities' by one of my two furry companions. I got one of those 'sifting' litter boxes, which I only use by pouring in the contents of a litter box, then lifting out just the stuff to be discarded. The cleaned litter then gets poured back into the original litter box. The total clean-up takes only a few minutes and kitties and I are happy campers.

The reviews didn’t lie - this is absolutely the best litter I’ve ever purchased and will be hard pressed to ever switch. I have two cats, and this litter clumps like you wouldn’t believe. It used to take me twice as long to clean the litter box, but now it’s clumped together so nicely that it just takes a couple scoops and done! If I had to complain about anything, it’d be that since the actual pellets (or whatever the little pieces are called) are easily kicked out by my more rambunctious cat but really, that’s her fault and not a real fault of the litter. I wholeheartedly recommended this product to anyone with multiple cats looking for a good clumping litter.

I've had lots of cats and cat litter brands come through my door in the past. This product makes cleaning the litter box downright bearable and is hands down the best litter I've ever used. Odor control is top notch, it clumps well, and is easy to clean. I would highly recommend getting a metal scooper if you don't already have one; the plastic ones don't quite cut it.

It’s probably the cat food not your cat

This cat litter is extremely efficient at covering up temporary smells, especially urine. You will definitely want to clean your cat’s business daily because damp litter sticking to the cat’s feet should not be ingested when your cat cleans her paws. Now if your cat’s poo stinks it’s probably because of the food she is eating. Cat’s are strictly carnivores and their bodies are not designed to handle vegetables, grains or anything else that isn’t similar to their natural prey. A cat’s intestine is very short and designed to quickly digest meat. But if you are feeding dry or canned cat food full of things other than meat then your cat is going to poo a lot more and it will smell bad because your cat isn’t digesting what it’s body doesn’t need. If you feed your cat just the meat and nutrients it needs then your cat’s body will use most of what it’s eating and your cat will poo only tiny amounts and it won’t stink. CatNutrition.org has resipies for making your own real cat food. Otherwise, you can buy packaged raw cat food or high quality cooked canned cat food at specialty pet stores. Besides the litter box benefits, feeding your cat healthy food will definitely lower the risk of health issues and costly veterinary bills. Some cat’s transition to new healthy food right away while other cats are so addicted to their junk food it may take several months. For finicky cat’s, try putting a little of the new food on the side of your cat’s plate so she will become accustom to this smell with her meals. Overtime, mix more and more of new food with her old food and eventually she will be eating and loving the new healthy food. You will see the difference in her energy level and her coat will be shinny and healthy looking too.

We are on our second box of the A&H litter. After trying several different brands of litter claiming to be low dust, this one actually IS. Some of the others have been okay, but this one has been great. I'm grateful to find it on Amazon because it is rarely, if ever, available in my grocery store. It does a great job of clumping fast and absorbing odors. I have one cat who may have stopped trying to dig through the bottom of the box whenever she uses it, but still puts a lot of conscientious effort into covering up what she leaves behind. Another leaves clear evidence of his presence yet there is hardly any smell to give it away. It's as if the litter has magnetic properties. Their box is on a tray on top of carpeting to help prevent tracking - and because of the vigorous digging of the one I mentioned earlier, and so far, it doesn't appear that any of it has made it to the carpet. Will purchase this brand again!

So good, that you can’t change to another brand.

This brand is out there for a long long time, and I almost forgot it until someone mention that they tried it and it’s super good from texture to eliminating the smell from the cat litter box. I personally used it on my litter bot and it is so good that I gave it a 10+. I tried many brands like the world, corn, wheat, newspaper, natural this and that. Nothing really satisfy my need because I am allergic to dust and chemical, plus I am the only person that does the dirty job. Now my wife doesn’t mind doing the dirty job bcuz she said it doesn’t smell anymore. Haha great product Bcuz both my cats n my wife satisfied it 100%. You just have to be prepare to stick to this brand for a really long time, bcuz you can’t go back.

I Finally Found a Litter That Works!

I have tried just about every brand of litter out there. Some were cheaper and others were more expensive. But none of them did the job. I have an older cat with arthritis and kidney issues. She tries to cover the urine but really never does. She also uses the box about six times a day. This litter covers the odor even when she doesn't cover it with the litter. That is amazing, trust me it's never happened with any other litter.. It's not dusty but it does track some. I haven't found a litter that didn't. It is more of a sandy type of litter which seems to track easier, but it clumps better. I use a litter mat and that contains most of it. Also, this doesn't stick like glue to the box, Tidy Cats is the worst for that. The clumps lift out easily. Note FYI: This is the Platinum Multi Cat not the regular Multi Cat. And yes I notice a difference. This clumps better and doesn't stick to the box like the regular does. The Platinum is almost impossible to find in stores and the price at Amazon is good, especially the 40 pound size. I am an extremely happy cat mommy. It took a few years, literally, but I finally found a litter that I will keep buying.

This stuff is the best we have used

I have four cats. (Yes, that's a lot) We also have a litterbox in our bedroom (Yes, that is less than ideal). Suffice to say, having litter that works well is incredibly important. This stuff is the best we have used. It clumps tightly, which makes clean up a breeze and doesn't leave gross but unclumped litter in the box. Because of this, we don't have to do a full dump of the box nearly as often. It doesn't have a noticeable scent (which is good, PITA princess won't use highly scented litter) but traps odors well.

Can't recommend this cat litter enough!

I've had cats my entire life (I'm in my 50s) and have tried multiple brands of cat litter. As my cat is aging and using the litter to urinate more frequently, the tracking and mess had become too much for comfort. I love my baby but she was tracking cat litter throughout my entire home and I had enough. This brand of cat litter has the least amount of tracking I've ever seen, which it is VERY little. On top of that it has great odor control, clumps and stays hard, and has no dust to speak of. This litter has changed my relationship with my cat's litter pan for the better!!!!!!

Excellent cat litter (at least for my cat!), love "sandbox sand" Arm & Hammer litter..

Sand-like texture, which most cats love. Only use A&H, now Platinum version. Other brands that have flakes or big granules--NO WAY, ever. Cat is litter snob? I also use liners, fill bottom with an inch plus of A&H baking soda. Run a room-sized UV air purifier 24/7 in bathrm where box is; helps room, too, NO odor! 8 lb. cat's waste is WOW! Smell is GONE after a few minutes; this works, that's all that counts.
