I bought this to trim the edge on some flashing I had made to use as baseboard in a shop/garage. I wanted metal but everything I found on line and locally was too expensive......until I thought of color coated, aluminum flashing. Problem solved but the appearance didn't quite satisfy me visually. That's when I ordered up the vinyl automotive trim. It looks nice, seems like it's gonna stay on even if it's kind of a pain to get it worked on the edge of the material, and then to stay on the edge of the material. I used it on 26 GA and thin stuff is pretty much what it's for. I don't think it would stay put if it came in contact with much of anything once it was applied. 'Hope this helps!

This material is fairly soft and pliable. I see it being perfect for my use. On a car door or other edges it will conform to the shape of the contour. In fact after receiving it I've thought of a couple of "Danger! Sharp Edge!" locations that will benefit from it being applied for my safety. Unlike the rigid plastic or metal door trim of the past, this is a soft material that will protect both your door edges and the objects you bump the door into. Good for the price. Better quality than expected. Longevity? I'm 73 so I'm hoping for a few more years. This should outlast me. .

Pretty good product and affordable. To avoid the sticky side to peel off make sure you clean the area with alcohol before applying it and also pull the red tab that protects the tape as you go... 32 ft will cover a lot! I used it for the fins on my led light bar to reduce the wind/whistle noise

All I can say is WOW to all the negative reviewers, especially those who complained about the overhang size. I easily and quickly installed the product on my new 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Looks great and overhang worked perfectly. GREAT PRODUCT at a great (low) cost.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I searched for a while and found some options and I'm glad I went with this. I wasn't sure how big it was since there were no pictures for reference, and if it were any bigger or smaller I probably wouldn't have used it, but I just decided to gamble it and see what it looked like. It actually looks better with this on the edges than without it since it matches some of the door seal material. Plus, obviously, it will protect the door edge when the wife or kids open the door into the cart corral (a previous paint chipping experience). It's easy to install if you do it right, just peel a little and start it, then go in about 6" increments and push it on then pull the strip out from behind the piece you just placed. It probably took 45 minutes to do the entire crew cab of my 2018 GMC Sierra. The 32' roll was enough to do the entire crew cab. I did the outside edge of the front doors and 3 of the 4 edges of the rear doors since the back corners are rounded and didn't leave a good place to stop. So no matter what there was plenty of material with a couple feet left over and it all looks factory installed. I will update if they start to peel off or something, but the sticky back was 3M brand and looked like the same stuff they use for the hood protector/bug deflector and those things never come off. In any case, hoping it stays on!

Why pay the dealership to put this on your car when you can use this product? Only took a few minutes to install and aftet a few months it hasn't shown any signs of wearing.

Fits door edge perfectly (of your car, duh), has little adhesive in there to help, little hesitation on my part figuring out which side goes out (now I don't remember), but it's really perfect.

This is an easy to use product and with a little patience, I was able to do all four doors of my Toyota Highlander in about half an hour. It's important to make sure that the material is 'warm', so I suggest that you make sure its either at room temperature or you are outside when applying this as it makes it easier.

I LIKE this stuff. The door edge I've used on my cars before this had the glue inside that heated up to stick. Yeah well, on a really hot day that glue gets soft and the strip tends to come off. Not this one. This uses 3M style tape, with the plastic strip you peel off the double stick tape, that really stays in place. Now, putting door edge on your car/truck is a no brainier to keep from scratching other vehicles, but it prevents chips in the paint on yours too. I had no trouble putting this on my 4-door car in a very short time. I like the tape, and we've had the car through several car washes with brushes and the strips are still firmly attached. Good stuff.

I just installed this today and was very impressed. I previously used a version of this product by another manufacturer which had metal inside of it and wasn’t “self-adhesive.” That was insanely difficult to fit, cut, and install. This, on the other hand, was a breeze. Find the end that works for the side of the car you’re on, peel some of the backing off so there’s something to hold it in place, leave the backing hanging so you can pull it later. Then run the rest down the door as though you’re installing it for real. Find the place to cut it, do so, then put the end back in place. Last, pull the hanging end of the backing to remove the rest and press down firmly. The adhesive is 3M, so I’m expecting great results over a long time. The previous product left a nasty rub mark on my doors. Even if this leaves sticky residue, it should be easier to remove.
