Perfect
It works surprisingly well. I like not having any wires hanging around a spinning fan when working on an engine.

Good enough for what it is.
This was super cheap. It didn’t turn on when I first got it, so I took the batteries out and re-installed them. I didn’t pay much attention at first, but it’s likely one or more were put in backwards. Perhaps to keep it from turning on during shipping? Anyway, it works. I put a dot of the tape on the headstock of my lathe and it read 86.5 RPM. Was supposed to be spinning at 88, according to the chart I was looking at for the belting and the back gearing. Worked just as well for higher speed at 660 or so. You’ve got to keep the thing close to a right angle to what you’re checking if possible, otherwise reading was sometimes off a bit. I bought this mostly for a lark, but also to check the speed of pulleys and such on various machines I have. Hopefully it holds up over time, and doesn’t fall apart on me. No instructions, but it’s pretty straightforward to use.

good product.
Bought this because my new lawn mower didn't seem to be running very fast. I cut a small piece of the reflective tape and put it on the top part under the rope starter. Worked perfectly and discovered the engine was running quite slowly. I know the speed of about everything I own that spins.
