I don't write many product reviews but these glasses deserve to have a good word said about them. I had tried other brands of half glasses before and was disappointed with the quality of the lens or the durability of the frames. These glasses from Optix 55 have lenses that are accurate all the way to the edges and are high enough to give me a great field of view for reading and, with a slight tilt of the head, still be able to see over the top when I talk to people or look across the room. The frames are turning out to be very durable and comfortable. I carry a pair in my scrubs pocket all the time and find myself wearing them almost all the time in the office. My other pair is in the car and goes with me into the store or restaurant. The styling is exactly what I wanted. Excellent value. I would definitely buy these again.

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much quality at this price, but they seem as well constructed as prescription glasses I've had. They have springs in the hinges to keep them either open or closed. Even the little case is nicer than the cloth bag that usually comes with cheap glasses. I especially like their extremely light weight. I find myself still wearing them after I stop reading as I just forget they're on.

My husband ordered these and he loves them. He’s purchased several readers over the last few years, these are his favorite. Being a fairly large guy, must readers looked a bit too small on him. These fit him very well. He loves that he can read and look up and not have to pull them off to see in front of him. He was a bit self conscious at first thinking that they made him look “old” but after seeing how much easier it made his life he gave up on vanity and wears them all the time. Besides, I think they’re cute. Customer service was great as well. We received a personal letter in the mail (snail mail!) thanking us for our purchase. How often does that happen nowadays?

One problem with getting older is that one needs reading classes. Another problem with getting older is you forget where you have put down your readers. I, like many others, have partially resolved this problem by buying many pairs of glasses which are left strewn around my home and my workplace. Having bought so many pairs, I have come to learn what I want from a pair of glasses. These glasses from Optix55 have been my first foray into half-frame readers and I have to say I'm very impressed with their construction. As you can guess from my introduction, I don't treat my glasses well - they get left in strange places, sat on, dropped etc. For starters, I like frameless or almost frameless lenses and the lower frame of these glasses is both strong and inconspicuous. Of course there is no upper frame to obstruct your vision. The lower frame is one piece from hinge to hinge with no stupid screws to work loose. The nose pieces are sturdy and haven't fallen apart on me yet unlike some I have owned. Likewise the hinges look strong and well-sprung. I've had these readers for about 2 months so far and they have received almost constant use from me with all my old pairs being relegated to a heap in the office. They are also extremely comfortable. I realized that the advantage of half-frame readers is that they stay on my face most of the day (except when with my wife in public) and they don't get discarded on furniture or shoved onto the top of my head. Despite being in constant use since I've had them, these glasses are still as good as new. Great product. I'll buy them again as soon as my eyesight deteriorates further and I need stronger lenses!!

I don’t give out 5 stars lightly. But after returning a multi-pack (5) of readers that were horrid (large lenses w/ lightweight full frames), I ordered these thinking I should just go back to the dollar store for more throwaway glasses. So as you might assume, paying more than $6 for a pair of readers was a splurge for me. I’m happy to report these are a joy. With the half lenses, I don’t have to take them off constantly. I’m watching TV right now as I type on my iPad. It’s the Chuck Schumer look! I can’t say they’re clear from edge to edge, but good enough I don’t have to move my head to read. They’re light and don’t slip off my nose like others have. The nosepieces can be bent to fit. The bridge is wide enough to fit my large nose without adjustment though. If you’re searching for affordable readers, you can stop here. Goldilocks would approve. And, if you wondered if you get one pouch or two, mine came with two. But nothing to write home about.

Great selection of STRONG reading glasses that are difficult to find at local shops!!! I bought these for my elderly neighbor and he is crazy about them because they are actually strong enough for his needs. He also likes this style because he doesn't have to remove his readers to converse because he just looks over the tops! I hit the jackpot with this gift!!! oh, did I mention the lightning-fast shipping? I hit the jackpot with this gift!!! My elderly neighbor loved these readers because they were actually STRONG enough to meet his needs. He also likes the fact that he doesn't have to remove his readers to converse...he can just look over the top of these. EXCELLENT QUALITY PRODUCT and LOTS OF STYLES TO CHOOSE FROM. I am super impressed with this seller. Transaction went like clockwork with no issues. OH. did I mention the lightning fast shipping? EXCELLENT SELLER WITH A GREAT SELECTION OF QUALITY PRODUCTS. Really strong reading glasses are impossible to find at most local stores. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SELLER.

I work and surf on my laptop computer while watching TV for many hours each day. The constant near and far creates eye fatigue if I don't use glasses (1.75) for the best laptop viewing. I love these glasses for two reasons. First when I used to put my old readers down my nose so I could look over them at the TV, my lower neck started hurting because I had to tilt my head down too much. These half-glasses fit comfortably midway on my nose and are easy to peer over so no neck ache anymore. Secondly if I got up to temporarily do something, I would put my other glasses up on my forehead where they would slip down often or would have to suffer more neck bending to see over them to walk. The Optik55 glasses are easy to see over without taking them off for a fast trip to the kitchen and back. These glasses are perfect for the 20/20 rule I learned. After viewing closeup for awhile, look at least 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds and your eyes will not get as fatigued. In my case, the TV is not 20 feet away so I look out the window or into the kitchen periodically and have no eye strain/fatigue issues. I have not found a smaller crush proof case yet for them but the soft one that comes with both pair keeps the dust off. After using them daily for a few weeks now, they are holding up very perfectly and are still like new. I am thinking about buying these again soon to have backups, I like them so much. I should have purchased two orders in the first place in hindsight so I had 4 pairs to leave around.

I really like these! The half lense work better than most! I can watch TV at a distance and still flip through my tablet or phone with the aid of the half lens needed for reading. At work, I have two large desk monitors that I don't need readers for, but often have to look down at written notes and then going back and forth and the half lens works GREAT! Another great feature of the half lens in when driving, I can stop at stoplight and have on the glasses to read my phone, and have no trouble looking over the lens at distant traffic. So happy with the first two pair, I just ordered two more.

Librarian? Nope! I had cataract surgery and now only need “readers” as my distance vision is great. I didn’t want to buy bifocals or have to constantly be putting on and taking off full sized readers. With these, I can look down to read and look up without moving my head to see ahead! Added plus, they are very comfortable to wear.

I finally ga e in to my age and bought readers for the first time. I went thru five different pairs of readers before I settled on these. Here’s why I ended up buying multiple pairs of these, and why I like them so much: 1. Price is right for two pairs - I bought multiple sets and scattered the, thru the house so I can always find a pair. 2. The half lens allows me to read, and then VERY easily peer over the top to adjust my sight to distance. This is huge when I’m reading as I do t have to keep tipping the glasses down on my nose so I can look over them. (Also, it’s great when I do guitar tabs!) 3. Most important - I used to keep a very bright desk light so I could spot light whatever I was looking at. With these, I can see in dim light very clearly. In short, I love these out of all I tried.
