I recently installed a garbage disposal in my sink which didn't have a disposal before. I was able to remove the built-in soap dispenser in my granite countertop and install this switch instead. I chose the longer model and if you aren't sure I can't really see a situation where the longer model would be too long. The threads go the whole way up the shaft so you can just screw it as tight as you need. The button looks nice and works quickly. It's also safer since the button uses air instead of electricity up at the countertop level.

Works well. Do not coil up the excess hose ...
Works well. Do not coil up the excess hose between the button and the control module, as that will make the switch unreliable. Coiling must impede the air pressure to the control module somehow. Either cut the excess hose or route it out of the way without too much bending. Update October 24: After the glowing report, the button started acting up, failing to actuate the switch. Tried cutting the excess air tube, thinking the excess tube length is still causing problems. This worked for a couple of days before the problem returned. This evening the switch failed completely, with the sink button failing to come back up. It turns out, the threaded plastic housing near the sink switch developed a crack and broke off. It must have been just my luck to get a weak plastic part. I can't imagine having stressed the plastic part enough during the install to cause this failure. Contacted the seller with photos and a request for a replacement. The thing had only been in service for a month before it broke. The seller has agreed to send out a replacement switch at no charge. For this goodwill gesture, they get to keep their five stars.

Just love this thing
Easy to install, nice functional switch mounted right on my stainless steel sink top. (Order short version for stainless steel sink and long version for granite or other think countertop). Great value and quality.

Wireless switch exceeded expectations
This review is for the wireless garbage disposal switch. When I bought it I wasn't sure how I'd like the button on my counter because it's not as sleek and elegant as more traditional air switches that require you to drill a hole in your counter. But this was fast and very easy and very affordable so I gave it a shot. But when I got the switch I decided to play around with the placement and ultimately decided not to put it on my counter top. Instead I put it in the top drawer by my sink, right on the back of the drawer face so it doesn't interfere with drawer usage. It's totally out of sight there, works fine and doesn't really take up any space. I think this switch is great and the best place for it is in a drawer or in a cabinet or maybe mounted to the bottom of a cabinet if you have cabinets above your sink. Bottom line is that you can put the switch virtually anywhere and it will work fine. I am very picky but I am extremely happy with this switch and can't recommend this product highly enough!

Looks great -works perfectly - this plug in style with cord doesn't block your other plug which usually is for your dishwasher or instant hot water and the length of the cord allows you to position the air switch unit directly below the button for a short straight shot - very well designed and brushed finish of button looks great with brushed Grohe faucet and soap dispensers. Price is excellent

FANTASTIC garbage disposal switch! Say goodbye to your confusing wall switch!
These countertop air switches are the best thing since sliced bread. When I remodeled my kitchen I put one of these in, it was a no-brainier! There's always 2 switches next to the sink, one doing the disposal, one doing the light, and no one ever remembers which is which! Instead, I converted the disposal switch into an extra outlet (you can always use extra outlets in the kitchen!) and put the air switch in. I cut a hole into the granite myself. The switch itself is exactly 1 1/4" in diameter. I drilled a standard 1 3/8" hole that is used for faucets just because its the same size I used for the faucet and soap dispenser. The button fit just fine and tightened down to where it doesn't move. This kit has a latching button, meaning you push it once to start the disposal, and press it again to stop it. Very easy to use, and looks very clean and classy! My only concern is that its a finished plastic instead of actual stainless steel, but it would be easy to replace and it still looks fantastic on my countertop. The price was good too.

Excellent, took a chance on this and was a little worried as it’s so much cheaper than pretty much all the rest on here...had no reason to be worried though it’s well made and so far works perfectly , there’s plenty of cable for it to reach wherever you might need, recommended , buy it now!

It works like magic, and it's half the price of the insinkerator version of same product. GET IT. ......Now...Worth It!!
This thing is perfect for those who don't want to tear up their walls in order to install an outlet somewhere close to the sink. Not to mention it's technology is kind of neat. The button works through air pressure of all things. It's so simple to install , it took me no more that 5 minutes. All I did was decide where in the kitchen sink cabinet I wanted the outlet, the n screwed it (the outlet) to the back wall. I then bore a large enough hole to allow the button to fit through snugly, attached the tightening bolt on the back. Then I bore another hole going out of the far corner of the cabinet for the power cable to slip through and then pulled it through and plugged it into wall socket that was already there. DONE!! I turned on the water and shoved some test food into the disposal and pressed the air switch and it was like magic, worked perfectly and totally love that I didn't have to rewire anything to get this to turn my disposal off and on. I would HIGHLY recommend this product to ANYONE who either needs a simple install or does not want to do any rewiring. Oh yes and let me not forget to tell you, that this products quality is exactly the same as the insinkerators version of the same switch that goes for almost $60.

Easy To Install. Works Great!
The title really says it all! This switch is very easy to install, if you have a hole already. Depending on the material, putting one in shouldn't be that much hassle. A hole saw for wood, step bit and some oil for plastic or metal, stone counter tops might be a different story, but we placed ours directly into the sink, which I think is the best placement for keeping things clean. It sits pretty flush to our sink, very little profile above what is already there. It seems like it will remain clean and sturdy for years to come. Its also a great price in comparison to a lot of the competitors and although I don't have any to compare it to, I cant imagine that there is a substantial difference in quality, if any. I am so glad I bought this!

Clean solution easy to install for the handyman.
My choices were to install a new wall switch (lots of work) or go with this solution since my old disposal was the mag switch type (to operate you push the magnetic sink plug in from the top. No external switch was required). This unit was relatively easy to install. The trickiest part was finding the right location to drill a hole in the counter top for the plunger button. I had to add an outlet and outlet cover to the power junction box under the sink since one did exist there previously. Alternatively I could have direct wired the air switch through the junction box by cutting off the outlet plug. I went with the outlet so I could add a ground fault detection. (See photos for installation). This solution takes up a bit of space but since it’s all under the sink and on the back wall it’s not obtrusive. This is what is called a latching switch which means you push the plunger switch and the unit stays on until you push the plunger switch again. This catches some people off guard at first but you get it after a couple uses. This is a cool product I wasn’t aware of previously. Nice!
