Works well, affordable price

This mechanical light timer does what it's supposed to do. I have fancier, more feature-full outdoor timers, but at a fraction of the price this timer by Dewenwils has served its purpose, this holiday season. My light's were up from December to February, and the timer never missed a beat. It's easy to set on and off times, and the plastic cover keeps the mechanism protected, as long as you keep the device hanging down (as instructed).

Pull up tge tumbler keys after opening.

Very simple to use. Well after I watched a YouTube video on timers such as this. Up on the tumblers is off hours down on the tumblers is on. When you take it out or the box just pull up all the tumbler keys and push back down the hours you want it to run your lights. Then set the time arrow to the current time each tumbler is 30min. Plug it in and slide the switch to timer position. All done.

Very Easy to Program

I have used several types of timers over the years for various purposes. Some of the new digital ones are nightmares to figure out. The current/on/off times are easily manually set by simply using up and down toggles. It took me about 1 minute to program it, which included double checking my settings and plugging it in. By far the easiest timer to program and use. I have it on my 2 tier, 10 gallon or so patio water fountain and it works great! It also is very well constructed, and I am looking forward to using it for many more years.

Lights on and lights off.

This item is perfect for turning the lights on in my chicken coop. It took me a little while to figure out how to use it, but once I figured it out it was really simple. I like the fact that there is a cover over the timing pins. The only thing I wish was different is the short cord, but I made it work. Lights on at 6am and off at 6pm. The chicken coop would be to dark for them without the lighting. Quick delivery and great price.

Multi times, flat plug

Well made of quality materials. I specifically wanted more than one 'on' time (as opposed to on-at-dusk / off-at-whatever) and a, short, flat plug power cord. My outdoor outlet is in a rain-proof box that prevents using heavy duty, straight power plugs.

solid & easy to set up: looks promising

Like any man [I am seriously politically incorrect] I threw away the instructions with the packaging. That presented no problems with setting it up, including setting the on/off times, and getting it to work. The only improvement I could suggest is to lose the rim around the receptacles. I use it as a part time charger for my backup cell phone and its charger is wider than the space. Problem solved by substituting another USB charger.

Update for Pond pump controller.

Update: I recently reported the failure of the Timer/On slide switch. The Dewenwils customer service contacted me within 24 hours and is now sending me a new unit. I am impressed with the response and concern exhibited by this company. I recommend them for any product they are involved with. (End)This switch was exactly what I needed to control my pond pumps and aerator. It is easy to set up with the individual time selection tabs. The only issue is the plug wire connector could be a little longer.

Stopped Working: Update

Thought this was a fairly well constructed. Timer quit working. To bad..... Update: It wasn’t long after my review, Dewenwils reached out to me with concerns about what happened. I explained the the timer quit working. Dewenwils replaced the item! Excellent customer service. I’ve ordered many items and if they go sour, to bad your 30 days are up. I was going to write it off as “to bad” for me. I haven’t plugged the new item in and will update when I do but I just wanted to give a shout out to Dewenwils for taking care of the customer! Keep up the good work! I’ll update this review after using the new, replaced timer!

Works great. Very convenient.

So far so great. I just received the timer a couple of days ago and installed it and it works just as advertised. Which is awesome. I use it for a vacation rental and it is nice that the outdoor string lights go on every evening (and turn off in the morning) without me having to think about it. Guests love it. I had a dawn to dusk one (light sensitive) before that, but it didn't work well in the spot where I needed it because it was in the partial shade of a tree. This one works anywhere.
