A Great Purchase we Didn't Know we Needed
This little surge protector was a great purchase. We originally bought it in preparation of a cruise. We had heard that there may be few outlets in the stateroom. Surprisingly, we did not need it. HOWEVER, it is a great addition to my husband's home office. He is constantly in need of more outlets and charging ports. This little gizmo is perfect. It screws into the outlet very securely, is slim (hence the low profile), has four electrical outlets, two charging ports, and has a nightlight. He didn't know he needed this until he had it:) Our rooms are light in color, so the white color is great. If it matters to you, the packaging was very well thought out, compact but protective.

Best for standard size electrical plugs
Good combination of electrical and usb outlets. If you have a power cord that has an ac to dc adaptor (typical smart phone usb chargers) that plugs into the electrical outlet then this is probably not the product to buy. The adaptor plug will most likely cover up two of the three plug spaces on this unit. Many of the ac to dc adaptors have usb plug ins to them so bacically you can do away with the adaptor and just plug the remaining usb cord into one of the two USB ports on the device. Be careful unboxing the unit, it comes with a longer screw to fasten the unit to the outlet, I had to fish mine out of the garbage because I didn’t see it when I unboxed it.

This ECHOGEAR design and product has been my clients favorite over all other types and styles and models, for years.
This is the favorite style and type of surge protector and usb charger of all of my clients. CDrive was my computer and television repair shop name for twenty years since my college years in the eighties, the beginning of the PC era. We used bulky Triplite protection and backup units that used heavy transformers and large heatsinked transistors for power inverters. Since the design and the development of the very lightweight Flyback ferrite power supplies and better power semiconductors, we have now reached some of Teslas branches that started as frequency related power supply and conversion roots and discoveries. The only thing about these chargers is the night light that could attract small children to a dangerous power source. So we have to educate young ones earlier about fire, hot, and that the power outlet is not a toy, even though we have to charge up our toys and devices with this great product.

Needs one of these in place of their outlet. I love having additional plugs and USBs
I bought several of these one for every bedroom in our house. My kids are constantly stealing the USB charger plugs. The adults can never find one when we need one. I remedy the problem with this also additional outlet replacement for your existing standard two plug wall outlet. I'm not a huge fan of the green nightlight that continuously stays on. I didn't see that in the description. There should be a way to turn that on and off. I put heavy white duct tape along the top to cover it and that's all it took to make the room dark to sleep. Trust me, it is really very bright. But the use of the outlets far outweighs the light issue. I would definitely buy this product again.

Nice and slim, power filtering
I bought this because I was looking for a surge protector with filtering capabilities. Also, I really wanted one that was slim and not bulky. I use it to charge my MacBook, iPad and iPhone. It replaces the socket plate on the wall, so it's sleek and unobtrusive. I followed the directions to turn off the electricity first, then removed the plate, and screwed in the Echogear. It was pretty easy. Charges great, and the green light verifies that the surge protector is working, which my previous ones did not, and I used to worry. My building is old and has frequent power surges. I wish this one came in higher joules, but maybe that's not really necessary? Or maybe it's not possible with a slim design yet. My dream surge protector would also have a short/medium length cord that either coils around it or winds inside somehow. I have to use an extension cord to reach the table where I work, but the setup is much less obtrusive than the bulky surge protector I was using. I'm looking forward to seeing what Echogear comes out with next.

So happy to have found this
I needed a new charger for our USB cables to charge our phones. I did not expect to find anything like this so I was pleased when it popped up in my amazon search. I can plug in my lamp and charge both my husband's and my phone at the same time while sitting in our livingroom chairs if needbe. I was impressed (I did not do a lot of research, this may be a standard thing) that it acts as a surge protector and offers a protection plan/warantee in case it fails. The design is not offensive and my kids think it looks neat. Hoping it lasts a long time. I have never heard of the brand Echogear but this seems to be a well designed/manufactured product.

Echogear
Echogear Received yesterday. For all the reviews that said prongs are too close together unless you are using standard plugs, this is just not true. My microwave, KitchenAid mixer, and food saver machine are all plugged into this unit. Microwave and KitchenAid both have huge plugs. The food saver Has a Standard plug. They all fit in, although snug, they do fit. So this product will fit two large plugs, one on each end, with a standard plug in the middle. Some of the reviews said the light was too bright. True, the light is bright However if it is too bright for you, just put a piece of tape over it. I really like this product and would give it to 10 star’s if possible.

Love this.
Love this. It has a little light on on that let's you know that the surge protection is working. Was hesitant at first because my kitchen counter came up to the sockets but this fit perfectly. Will buy more of these. It did not include a screw, I called them and they mailed the screw to me in a few days. Wonderful company to buy from. Excellent customer service.

Works great!
I purchased 3 of these to have around the house instead of replacing the outlets themselves. I have placed one in (2) of my bedrooms beside the bed and then (1) in the kitchen for a charging station. These are very useful when I have Echo/Echo Dots and multiple devices to charge in an area. In the bedrooms, I have a lamp, 3-in-1 charging cable, and Echo Dots plugged into these and it works great. In the kitchen, I have an Echo and charging station set up by it (2 of the 3-in-1 cables plugged into USB and a high speed wireless charger into the outlet). I dont think I can use this in my upcoming cruise due to the power surge protector. The light on it helps in the bedrooms as well so I can find the plug at night if needed without waking anyone!

Works well and is very flat to the wall.
So far, so good! I like that it inserts directly into the wall outlet and is pretty flat. We bought this because we had concerns about EMI disruption to our internet service- we've been working with our ISP and ATT to eliminate a 'ghost' problem, so were trying everything. This might have helped b/c we have noticed more consistent signal from our modem. The only thing I don't like is the size/brightness of the power light on top of the unit- it's about as bright as a night light in our living room at night. Would definitely have to cover it up if this were in my bedroom.
