I have used this for a few weeks and it does the job very well. No Complaints. My old cooler that died blew a blast of hot air out the side but this is cool all around. SUPER QUIET. I have it on high and the is no noise at all. There are blue LED lights on the fans. but if I am not looking for them I don't see them. It raises the front of the computer about 1 1/4 inches and the back about 2 1/2 inches which may be a problem for some but adds in the cooling. I just raised my chair higher.

Almost everyone has the problem of an overheating laptop that isn’t comfortable to be touched or laid on any surface. I stumbled across this laptop cooling device and needed to give it a shot! The product came in a large box and in its own box with bubblewrap. This surprised me and I was very pleased to see the level of care for the product. The instructions were clear and easy to read. The device itself is extremely light and definitely portable!! I really like that the cooler has the skid-group rest so the laptop doesn’t slide and I also like that the device is angle a little bit. Unlike other coolers, this one can be powered from your computer and then also charge another device from the cooler itself! I like that the cooler has 5 fans as it definitely does its job and does it well! If you’re worried about it being quiet, I can assure you that it is very quiet and will always be as there is only one speed the device runs at. All in all, this is a great purchase on my part, and I wouldn’t want you to miss out on it, so please if you have a laptop which overheats, get one of these!

There are a lot of laptop cooling solutions out there and each one has its own approach to helping to regulate the internal temperature of your device, which will at least theoretically prolong the life and boost the performance of said laptop. However, often times, the claims from these vendors takes on the feeling of medieval medicine, with the promised performance claims ranging from reasonable to somewhat bizarre. There are some videos on the internet that perform elaborate tests, many of which reaching differing conclusions. Enter the TeckNet laptop chiller. A reasonable explanation of this device would be this: it's indisputable that a judiciously applied cooling solution is harmless to any properly functioning hardware. Each chill pad has its own configuration and this unit's layout seems to be well-suited to the task of propelling a decent volume of cooler air into the bottom cavity, which is going to have at least some mitigating effect on the temperature of the components. I've seen data that suggests anything from a 10 to 20% reduction in heat for these devices. That seems reasonable. The construction of this device is solid, consisting of a sturdy (yes, I use that word a lot, don't I?) plastic frame and a metal mesh top grid over the fans themselves, of which there are five. The fans' speed is adjustable with a proportional wheel. There's an extra USB-2 port for charging purposes. The fans are illuminated by cool looking (as the color would obviously suggest) blue lights and the fans make very little (rather whisper-y) noise while operating. Ignore the hype and get one of these cost-effective solutions; for very little money, you can contribute to your computer's performance and longevity.

I got this for a 17" laptop - an older Win7 model - that has been gradually increasing in average operating temperature and fan speed as it ages. It works just as I'd hoped. According to the laptop utility, my CPU temp is now running at "40%" instead of "60%" and the internal fan speed is much lower as well. More than that, the hard-disk drive and memory chips all seem comfortably cooler as well. I used to feel the heat radiating through the keyboard, now it only gets mildly warm after hours of continuous use - and I don't even need to run the cooler at full speed. The cooler has a very useful speed control on the side, with an "off" position included. The blue LEDs on each fan also dim when the fan speed is reduced. Take note, however, that at full speed, the cooler will draw up to 900 milliamps from the USB port into which you plug it - that is the standard for USB 3.0. If you have a USB 1.0 or 2.0, they are only rated to supply 500 milliamps, and you will be disappointed in the cooler. This is also true for an external USB charger/adapter if you go that route (as I do). Make sure your adapter can put out the full 1amp (1000 milliamps) and you will be happy. I had a cheapo unit that didn't manage to produce as much as it claimed - and it would not keep the cooler running properly and it also got quite warm. The 5-fan cooler is quite lightweight - but seems strong enough for holding the laptop and the top surface grill is stamped metal with a few reinforcing bends artfully pressed into a pattern on its surface. I've not been using it long enough to make a call on its durability - but for now, it seems great to have my trusty Win7 laptop working without as much heat. I'm hoping to keep it as long as possible!

Plug and play! Just plugged it in and turned the dial to control the fans. You can control fan speed. I keep mine set on the highest. It keeps my laptop extra cool. I was playing some games that were really heating it up and needed a way to pull some off that hot air away. I use it with my MacBook Pro. My hands will get cold from how cool it keeps it. It's the perfect size to fit right on top of my lap desk I have for in bed and it packs away in my duffle bag for overnights without a problem. Definitely a must have!

This laptop cooling pad fits my large-ish 15-in MSI gaming laptop perfectly. The pad folds flat for travel (although it's still a little chunky)- there are two feet that pop up at the back to make room underneath for the fans to blow as well as a small notch that flips up on the top to help keep your laptop in place on the pad. Setup is very easy- just plug one end of the included USB cable into one of the ports on the pad and the other into your laptop! Spin the fan control and this pad will start running! (you'll feel a little click on the spin control to let you know it's on or off) The fans have blue LED lights that cause a subtle glow underneath the pad/laptop. The fans on this pad aren't whisper quiet, but they aren't loud either? It's just that low whoosh/hum of quiet fans moving air around (like in a desktop)- it's not really distracting, and you can definitely feel the air blowing! I haven't done any scientific tests, but I definitely feel like my laptop is running cooler with it sitting on this cooling pad- a must for playing games for longer than 20 minutes on my thin gaming laptop!

Even though this is a laptop cooling pad I got it for my playstation 4 because it gets very hot and tends to create stuttering when I'm playing for a long time. This thing is great unlike the laptop, I had to use it on top of the PS4 but it works! My only recommendation for this product is; before using it on your laptop or PS4 if you decide to get it for that; is turn the pad on and let it run for a couple of hours while your laptop or device is off. I had the PS4 off and the pad connected to the wall (it doesn't include a long cable or wall plug) for a few hours, after that the PS4 was nice and cold and hasn't gotten hot since; so I definitely recommend this pad. I also did test it on my laptop and it does its job very well.

This laptop stand has great features: it has a metal grill which is located at the top of the cooling pad and goes right under your laptop and works to dispense heat. It also has five blue LED fans and and variable speed knob to adjust the speed of the fans. It’s VERY quiet which is definitely a plus (nobody wants a loud fan buzzing while you’re trying to focus on work). It also has two small stands at the back to be able to raise the pad at a confortable level. Pros: - Metal grill used to dispense heat - Five LED fans which is more than enough for cooling - Variable speed knob to select fan speed Cons: - none

This is a great laptop cooling pad. It has 4 medium-large fans and 1 larger fan in the middle. The fans are not that loud at full speed and they are basically silent when you turn it down a little. I have noticed that when you turn the nob you can actually turn the fans off before it actually clicks letting you know that it's off. This cooling pad easily fits my 15-inch laptop and the built-in stand makes sure that your laptop doesn't fall off. The rubber on the pad and on your laptop will also make sure that your laptop does not slide off. This is great if you have a gaming laptop or if your laptop gets too hot while using it. It's pretty comfortable on your lap and doesn't feel too heavy. Overall, great cooling pad.

I have been happily using my older Windows7 laptop (my main workstation) with this cooling pad for a few weeks with no AC in the room. The room temps have been over 90 at times. This laptop cooling pad has kept the temps on my laptop well within acceptable functioning temps. I hate when the laptop gets so hot that it slows down to cool itself. That has not happened, though it was happening at the start of summer when I was without a cooling pad, when the laptop fan would get loud, indicating higher speeds and the computer would function at less than top speed. The two main considerations I had were the size and the function. My ACER ASPIRE 5733Z laptop is a 15.6” widescreen, measuring 10”x15”. The only cooling is through a bottom 1.5-inch diameter grill (with an accompanying fan) on the left back side that pulls room air and pushes hot air out the side. The N11 TECKNET Cooling pad measures about 11”x15.25” and the top surface sits 1” above the table level when flat (the back is raised to 2.5 inches total height when the feet are out). The vented surface is about 10” deep by about 11” wide. There are 4x 90mm corner fans and 1x110mm central fan. They PUSH air onto the laptop, which suits my laptop as this increases the airflow through the vent. When the fans are running, you can only detect a slight movement of air at the vented surface with your hand, but if you cover the entire surface with tissue paper, it lightly lifts the paper. A normal piece of paper is too small, like a hand, and the air goes around it, seeming to create a pull. Anyway, I find that back of my laptop is cooler and the running temps stay low when I use the cooling pad. I find that I can easily use the cooling pad on a desk or on my lap. On the lap with bare legs, I can feel the pull of the air. I noticed that I usually sit with my legs to the sides of the corner ports and can feel the air on the inside of my leg. Sometimes I shift and I think I block the fan port, but the air appears to pull harder through the other ports. The pad itself has rubberized, non-slip feet which work well. There are also extendable back feet to angle the cooling pad for a more natural working angle (adding 1.5 inches to the back height). The back feet easily swing out and back with a single finger. The cooling pad has a device recessed into the top surface at bottom that will flip-up to function as a slide block for your laptop. My laptop’s feet have great traction and it does not slip on the pad, but the top of the cooling pad is smooth and would certainly allow slipping without the slip blocker. The pad must be plugged in to USB power (on your laptop or on another USB outlet) to function. A USB cable is provided and, once it is plugged in, there is one spare (USB2) port (two total) on the left side of the pad. The fans have blue LED lights when on. Both the lights and fan speed are jointly connected to a knob on the left side that you can turn to manipulate fan light+speed. The lights do not shut off or on independently and only dim or shut off along with the fans. The fans are whisper quiet and I rarely notice them unless I listen for them. They make a quiet and soft shshshshsh. In the past I had a laptop cooler (Targus lap chill mat) that I used, but it broke. I bought another cooling pad (TECKNET N5 – I reviewed it as well!), but it was too small (14” wide) for this laptop and I have moved the other N5 to under a 12.5” wide laptop that I use. Compared to the Targus, the N11 is quieter and more sturdy, plus there is a spare USB on the N11 to take the place of the one you use to power the cooling pad. The N11 is large enough for my laptop and does the job of increasing airflow and keeping my computer cooler. I am happy with my purchase!
