This wireless system was installed in an older RV that has been converted into a local mobile museum. What this really means is that the transmitter and receiver are 27 feet apart with only one wood cabinet wall in between them. The installation was easy but some improvement is needed in the wiring instructions. Because of the age of this vehicle ignition noise caused horizontal lines across the monitor screen varying with the engine speed. I had to install an inline power filter to remove this noise on the power input wires to the camera and monitor. However a second problem developed in that a complete dropouts occurred of the camera (monitor goes to a blue screen) at various times. Before installation, with the transmitter and receiver closer together I did not have the dropout problem. I contacted the manufacture and they sent me a more powerful transmitter and receiver. This action has solved the dropout problem. Overall the system gives a adequate picture and with the guide lines gives the driver an good view while backing the vehicle. The customer service is excellent.

It’s been a great help. I have an SUV and wanted it to run at all times. So, I used the long cable and direct wired it to the monitor. I drive on highways a lot and wanted to see better behind me. I take my mom grocery shopping each month and when the back gets too full I can’t see out the window. Now I can see perfectly. I’m so happy with my purchase. I don’t have electrical knowledge and was thrilled I was able to hook it up on my own. I also didn’t want to take my rear door apart, so I ran the cable through my rear window. The only thing that has been an issue is rain. When drops get on the camera it makes the image blurred. Happy with the operation and ease of set up. I noticed in the reviews some people complained about the lines but they don’t bother me. It took me a few drives before I figured out where I wanted the monitor mount located on my dashboard, but I settled on in the middle and used double sided tape to hold it in place and it works wonderful. Color is great, as is the night vision. Size of the monitor is great too. Also love the on/off switch on the charger.

I got this wireless backup camera for Christmas. I have a pickup truck with tinted windows and a camper shell. It was impossible to see directly behind you. After hooking up the camera and monitor,on my first try I was able to back up to my boat trailer without ever having to get out and check if I was lined up or close enough. Perfect for hookup! A great time saver, back up like a professional. Wish I had done it a long time ago.

I like everything about the system, especially the adjustable grid lines. Installation is simple. Finding the proper wires to connect to in the tail light wiring harness was a little tricky. I used a multimeter and it worked out great. Mounting the 7" Monitor is a little tricky on the dash because of it's size and I had to use additional double sided tape to make it stick but I love the size of the display. I highly recommend this item.

I was shopping for a rearview camera for a Honda Odyssey, which has a poor rear view even with the trunk empty. I was planning to install it myself. WIRELESS VS. WIRED SYSTEMS As soon as I familiarized myself with the procedure of installing a rearview camera, by looking at youtube videos and reading forums, I decided that it was too much of a hassle to install a wired camera (for example, finding a good path for the cable from the back of the car to the front, in which the cable is secure but not conspicuous; this might require quite a bit of disassembly of the interior of the car in certain car models, a time-consuming procedure that also puts you at risk of breaking something). Therefore, the only option for me was to find a wireless rearview camera system. WIRELESS SYSTEM OPTIONS The wireless systems are composed of three elements. At the core is the wireless transmitter and receiver. The other two components are the camera and the monitor. Note that the camera and monitor can be any rearview camera and monitor as they both will connect to the wireless transmitter and receiver, respectively, and will not know the difference of being connected to a wireless or wired system. After shopping at Amazon, I found three buying options: (1) relatively inexpensive systems (under $100) having a normal resolution image, limited to an angle of view of about 150 degrees, (2) more expensive systems, mainly intended for trucks, that have a high definition image and a "fisheye" angle of view of about 170 degrees, or (3) to buy the three component parts separately. The last option (3) was discarded easily because it was much more expensive (at least when I was shopping) to buy the parts separately than to buy an assembled kit. I discarded option (2) because those kits were significantly more expensive and the cameras tended to be quite bulky, which I imagine does not matter in a truck, RV or the like (overall it still may remain inconspicuous given the size of those vehicles). So for me, it was the option (1). At the time I was shopping, there was only one inexpensive wireless rearview camera system with a significant number of reviews and it was the Emmako Backup Camera Wireless 7'' Monitor Kit. In addition, the price of this kit was among the lowest compared with other kits that had no reviews or too few to get an idea of its reliability. It was a no-brainer for me and so I bought it with Prime shipping. INSTALLATION Installation was relatively straightforward. I did not mount it in the license plate as I do not believe that covering any part of the license plate, particularly the state's identification, is legal. Instead, I drilled two little holes in a plastic rim above the license plate to mount the camera. It looks good there and barely noticeable. I also drilled a relatively small hole in the metal part of the trunk door to let the cable of the camera to reach the interior of the car (the backside of the trunk door). Because of the bulky terminals of the camera cables, I cut the cable, let the cable pass through the small hole I made on the trunk door and then spliced together the five little wires, which are color coded, on the other side of the trunk door (I used a little soldering, which was probably unnecessary). I taped with duct tape all the cables and the wireless transmitter to the trunk door, all of it later covered with the plastic trim that covers the back side of the trunk door that I had to remove prior to installation. For powering the camera and wireless transmitter, I used T-tap self-stripping quick-splice wire terminals (which were provided in the camera kit) to connect the wireless transmitter cables to the cables powering the backup lights (white lights) (this way, the monitor displays an image only when the gear is set to reverse, at all other times the monitor will display a blank blue screen, which can be turned off easily by pressing a large red button in the power "cigarette-lighter" adapter). The rest of the installation, that is, the monitor set up, is self-explanatory. Overall, the installation was quite painless. I took some time, with the help of another person, to align and adjust the guide lines so that it approximately tells me the distance from rear objects (probably unnecessary). RESULT I liked the camera set up. I placed the monitor to the left of the steering wheel next to the left-side mirror. This is a convenient placement when backing up as one is able to see both the side mirror and rear camera view next to each other. The camera is very useful. I can finally see where I'm going when backing up rather than relying only on the sonar sensors for backup assistance. When starting the car and changing the gear to reverse, the monitor displays the camera's view almost instantly (the delay is so short that it does not bother me at all). When I was installing it, I noticed some flickering of the image, but the flickering was fixed after I adjusted the cable connections. After that, the wireless communication has worked flawlessly so far as if the camera was wired. The images produced by the monitor are quite decent. It is not high definition but good enough to see very clearly and in detail the objects behind the car. The 150-degree angle is good enough (I just wonder whether the 170-degree angle would be more useful when backing up at 90 degrees of an intersection, e.g., from a driveway). CONS The image in the monitor shows green objects as pink, that is, trees and grass will look pink (this problem was solved by the seller, who sent me another camera upon request, see below). However, other colors are displayed correctly, for example, the grey asphalt is displayed gray and so on. CUSTOMER SERVICE I contacted the seller to let them know about the pink color shown for green objects and they immediately sent me another camera free of charge. Although I just received the camera and had no time to replace the original one, I consider the customer service for this product 5 stars. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase of the Emmako Backup Camera Wireless 7'' Monitor Kit.

I love the product. It gives a sharp picture of what's behind the car, and I've installed it so that it is turned on as long as the parking lights and headlights are turned on--not just the backup lights. Why? Because I like to see the road and traffic behind me while I'm driving. When driving at night, the camera's infra-red sensitivity makes the scene look just like daytime, except in black-and-white. I'm very happy with the product. The only downside is the installation. There are so many wires, with different colors, and so many connectors, that it's hard to keep them all straight. I needed the help of another person to complete the installation. But once it was done, it was well worth the effort.

I was looking for a good, medium priced backup camera for my 1995 Ford F250 with an extended cab and bed. I did some research and decided to try the Emmako IP68. The unit came with several options for installing it. I ended up running a 16' video cable from the camera on the license plate to the cab. I used the enclosed 12V adapter that was in the box and has a push button on/off switch. The 7" screen has a wonderful picture with optional guidelines. I chose this installation, rather than wiring it to my back up lights, because there are times when I want to see what is behind me while I am parked or moving forward. Because of the length of my truck, I was not able to use the wireless transmitters/receiver. The unit has 2 video camera inputs for installation of another camera. There is a URL listed with a video for instructions. We emailed the seller and they were very fast in their reply and easy to work with. We ended up ordering another system for our motorhome. Our neighbor also ordered one for his SUV. Overall this unit is a good value, easy to install, and I was very pleased with the outcome! Would definitely recommend this product.

The product and seller are both excellent in my experience. The first sensor (camera) I received was off in color. I wrote to seller a question about how to match the color. The seller immediate wrote back to explain the color off was a issue which had just been resolved, and promise to send me a updated sensor which I received today. The 2nd sensor was precise in color. The installation was very easy, thanks to the wireless feature. I did not have to put the long wires through the whole car, if choosing the wired option, which looks to be a formidable job to do. The wireless connection is very stable. I would have expected and accepted some interference going the wireless route, but interference of the wireless connection is none. The 7" screen shows very clear scene behind my car for a long distance. Overall, very happy about the product, the helpful seller, and the price (only 4% of the cost a shop quoted to install one for my Mercedes E550).

I paid $66 for the kit. I received the camera, screen, mount, a hood, wireless harness, hardline harness, cigarette lighter adapter and connectors to attach power wires to barrel connectors. At the base of the mount is a very tiny screw that I could not trust to support the weight of the screen. The hardline harness was long enough to install a camera on the back of a short bus. I do like the camera switching to low lux black and white, picture is great for price point. I tried to re seal the camera, but it comes sealed out of the box. I could not shut off the grid lines, however I got used to them and help gauge how centered the vehicle is on the hwy. I do like the second AV input and the many screen orientation options. Would buy again.

The system is working great! I use it on an extended cab Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup. I got tired of having someone stand at my camper and back me up so that I could hook it up to the hitch. I've used it this past weekend, and now I'm able to do it by myself in about half the time! I also hooked it up to the headlights. That way I can use it to look behind me whenever I want, instead of only when I'm backing up. The seller is great at answering emails and responding to problems/questions. I asked them to send me a windshield mount since it wouldn't mount on my dash. I received it in 2 days. Thank you!
