Inexpensive, sturdy and easy to assemble
Easy to assemble. I used 4’ 2x8s. Worked like a charm. I don’t understand all the customers who thought they had to modify the board. Not so. Look at the close-up photo; it’s designed this way on purpose. Ask an engineer to analyze it for you; it’s very strong. I installed the small boards underneath to stand it up from the lip of my trailer door. Great product.

A fantastic product. Brilliant idea.
I have purchased hundreds of products from Amazon through the years. Some were great, some not so much. This one however is an excellent product. I am writing my first ever review, because most of the reviews are simply wrong. Once you have the two 2x8 boards, installation takes about 15 minutes, and I'm certainly not a carpenter. The gap between the aluminum bracket and the 2x8 board is intentional and by design! you do NOT need routers, saws, etc, to install this product. The installation is simple and straight forward, but I think that, considering the reviews, instructions could have helped many people. Here is all you need to install this product: a rubber mallet, a power drill with a wood bit, a wrench and a pencil. That's all! 1. place one of the two brackets against one end of a 2x8, and mark the holes with a penctil 2. remove the bracket and drill two holes 3. put the bracket back, align against the holes you just drilled and insert one bolt into each hole, making sure that the round head is on the top side (see pictures other people posted, or use a common sense) 4. if you look closely at the bolts, you'll notice that just below the head there is a square area. This is by design and where the rubber mallet comes into play. Hit the bolt a couple of times with the mallet, to create a notch in the lumber, so that it does not rotate in the next step 5. screw the nut on the other side and use a wrench (socket, or adjustable, whatever you have) to finish this quick and easy project 6. Repeat the above 5 steps on the other board and aluminum bracket Note: you will notice that 4 additional bolts or pins are included with the hardware. These are meant to secure the aluminum brackets to your pickup truck, so it does not wiggle or rotate while you use it. Note 2: I agree with some reviews that for various reasons, treated lumber might not be ideal (extra weight, acidity in the wood could damage the bolts, extra cost, etc.), however if you want to keep your new ramps outside, you really need to use treat lumber. Also, if you end up using treated wood, like I did, you want want to wait a year or so until the lumber dries out and is less acidic, before you apply the included traction tape. Hope it helps!

It's what it says it is
The ramps are of quality construction. The aluminum ramp ends are a little difficult to attach. They won't fit a standard s4s 2x8 plank. You have to mill the ends of your 2x8 down a little to get them to fit. Also the square end of the plank has got to be put at an angle to snuggly fit the ramp end. I have woodworking shop, so this was no problem for me, but some might find this an issue. Also the 750 pound per ramp load limitations are for the ramp ends. The planks you use may not be able to handle the load so if you choose knotted up wood or poor quality wood, you may have a failure even though the ramp ends hold up. All in all I like the product very much.

It fits if you use 6/4 hardwood instead of pine lumber.
Hardwood and softwoods have different finished dimensions in nominal 2x8 sizes. These brackets are made to fit oak hardwood of S1S 6/4 size which is 1 3/8” finished size (35 mm) as the parts are shown by the seller. Oak is stronger than pine, so it’s makes for a stronger ramp. Softwood pine finishes to 38 mm although both are labeled 1 1/2”. Just industrial practice. If you go with cheaper pine, just mount it as one user showed, with a small gap, but the wood flush with the metal top. It is still strong, however the rubber grips at the other end will not fit with the pine lumber. So you will have to not use them or shave the wood. Hope that helps.

Seem to work for my purposes
Worked well with 2×8 for ramp for the dog. Haven't tried them on a truck, but they stand up to kids, dogs, and a 225 lbs load test when I slipped on the ramp. I may beef up the 2×8 with more support underneath and use them to load my 550 lbs motorcycle. Worked great for loading the motorcycle to the porch, then porch to back of a pick up. I did support the 2 x8 more rigidly with 2x4 cross pieces for motorcycle application.

strong and easy to use
Worked as expected, plenty strong. I did add some foam no slip backing to the underside because they kept wanting to shift on the trailer. The textured tape it comes with was not nessasary in my application so could have been left out and purchased separately if needed.

Very Handy Item
I had some long scrap lumber which I used as a ramp for loading heavy items i.e. a portable 140 pound generator in need of service, into a pickup truck bed. Adding these two aluminum devices and the two rubber items really improved the usability and peace of mind. Installation on the wood was really simple and the necessary bolts were included.

This biotches are frekin awesome
I got these so I could load up my hot wheels into the back of my 2022 ford f750 (I got an in with a ford executive so I get trucks early). These little ramps devices are the most amazing thing I have ever discovered and I was the first man to walk on the moon.

Great
Great quality kit. Even though I bought non-pressure-treated planks, I still had to ream the planks a bit so that the ramp ends would fit . . . but no big deal.

Loaded A Snowblower
Worked like a charm. I was actually able to use it on a 2x6. I did have to trim the end of the boards due to them being to thick.
