By Kathryn's request
I don't normally respond to solicitations for a review (you can ask my LinkedIn colleagues). However Kathryn asked nicely and this is a worthy product. I replaced a socket expander, giving me six sockets from two wall outlets, and a seven-socket power strip of which I could only plug in three power cubes because of their bulk. This does what it says, seems rugged enough for garage/power tools use, and has an attractiveness all it's own. It's a little pricey but as an early adopter I'm okay with that. Once Echogear amortizes its engineering costs you should see it from them for half the price.

One of the best designed power strips
This is an excellent power strip. Outside of the surge protection, which is always a plus, the design is sheer perfection. So many power strips don't give you the flexibility to put in various size plugs - this certainly does and with a nice, slim design. If they offered a discount to purchase more than one, I would consider replacing every power strip in my home.

Great Design!
Love, it! The pivoting outlets allow more room for those pesky, bulky power converters. I went from two power strips and an extension cord to just one power distribution. See my before and after photos. Note: the after photo shows the power cord portion wrapped in a large bundle since the wall outlet was so close to the power strip and my goal was to get all cords off the floor (easier to vacuum the carpet). All cable wraps and mounting hardware are NOT included.

Finally a Smart Surge Protector
I can’t say enough how much I like this surge protector. Hard to believe it’s took this long for someone to figure out a way to be able to use all the sockets on your surge protector! It seems like every manufacturer of an electronic item can not get away without making the plug in end of their product so large that it takes up the whole outlet on a normal duplex socket or 2 spots an any surge protector you buy making half your sockets useless ! Oh and how about the end of the surge protector that plugs into the wall socket ! They even thought about that making the end so it lays flat against the wall allowing you to move your furniture closer to the wall when needed! I’m sure someone will have a problem with this surge protector but for me it solves 2 of the most ignorant and frustrating things most other manufacturers have yet to figure out ! I will be buying more of these !

Love it!
This surge protector is the best i have had by far. I finally got one where i can use all the outlets without one or more being covered by a large power brick or angled plug and being able to move the direction of each outlet 180 degrees is so helpful to accomplish this and it is not the size of a college text book. The added clips makes it easy to keep the cords tight to the wall so i am not tripping on them or getting them tangled together. "highly recommend this."

I loved the 1st so I came back for more!
UPDATE: Like them so much I purchased a 3rd one as a Christmas gift. I loved the 1st so I came back for more. Wish they had made these before instead of having the need to purchase additional ones because I couldn't use all the outlets that were supposedly available. It is so good that now I just have to make sure I am not trying to suck too much juice out of the wall at one time lol How did it take so long for someone to think of this!!!!! Great power strip that works really well with wall-warts
Definitely one of those "why didn't I think of that?!?" designs - makes a ton of sense and very well executed. The area behind my entertainment center used to look like a plate of spaghetti because I had to have multiple power strips and extension cords *or* one of the "octopus"-style power strips that allows you to mount multiple "wall wart" style transformers on them at the same time. This ECHOGEAR design allows you to fit 8 items on the same power strip with no worries, assuming the total current is under 15Amps, which it likely is or you would blow a breaker anyway. I didn't really use the cable management feature, although I appreciate it being there and will likely use it in other applications. All-in-all a great power strip for behind entertainment centers, computers, etc.

Just What I Needed
I specifically chose this surge protector for a reasonably confined space (shelf in bookcase) where I was connecting a number of electronic components. Some of those components have those large plug-in adaptors and generally the long narrow surge protectors do not allow those adaptors to go into sockets next to each other. Given this situation one is generally faced with selecting a wider protector, which was not a good option in this application or skipping sockets. The solution was ECHOGEAR's rotating plug configuration. I was able to rotate the plugs and place these large adaptors right next to each other. Exactly what I needed. Let me address build quialty...it is excellent. Although I hope never to actually need the surge protection, based on what I see, I have confidence that that it will do the job.

Great power strip and OUTSTANDING customer service.
I thought my 6 plug/2 USB power strip was defective because the red power switch did not light up Only the green protection switch glowed. When I posted a question about it to the community it seemed that some people had a switch that glowed and others did not. The difference is that the red switch does light up on the 8 socket model, but not the 6. Customer service was extremely responsive to my concern. It seems their web team listed both models on the same listing and they immediately sent a replacement before confirming that was the way it was supposed to work on the model I purchased. They told me to keep both units. Echogear has amazing customer service and truly stands behind their products. Original review... I just received my Echogear 6 plug w/ USB power strip and the red light does not glow red, which would indicate my equipment is NOT protected.

A new solution to an old problem!
I’ve purchased several power strip surge protectors over the years. Of course, there weren’t any when I was young. There were extension cords, maybe with a couple outlets, but there were fewer electrical demands per room. When customers began to demand more outlets for computers, monitors, lighting, printers, and other necessities for a functional home office station concentrated in one space, power strips became essential. Power strips then demanded surge protectors. I’ve been buying surge protectors for year, never finding the perfect one—until now. I’ve found the Echogear surge protector to be perfect! It is substantially made, not a flimsy one. The electrical cord is heavy duty and longer than most. The strip itself has outlets that twist to accommodate several different power cords. This feature provides a place for different configurations of plugs without interfering with each other. No more loss of access because one plug is too large, or too wide. Just twist each socket from one side to the other and all the outlets are useful. I’ve owned several variations of this type of strip, but none were as substantial or versital as the Echogear. I plan to order more in the future. I am a regular customer, no a paid reviewer, and I am happy to share a product that works so well for me. I know it will fulfill your needs too.
