• POWERFUL COMPATIBILITY - Works on most vehicles sold in the USA with model year of 1996 or newer; Supports all OBDII protocols: KWP2000, ISO9141, J1850 VPW, J1850 PWM, and CAN (Controller Area Network); Works with English, German, French, Spanish, Finnish, Dutch, Russian, and Portuguese; It does not require any Battery or Charger. It gets power directly from the OBDII Data Link Connector in your vehicle.
  • TURN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OFF - Quickly read and erase stored emission related codes, pending codes, and show code definitions. Turns off the MIL (check engine light), helps in resetting the monitor before taking it to Smog, plus it tells you what is going on before bringing the car in for repair. Saves you the trips to your mechanic.
  • EXCLUSIVE OBDII DIAGNOSTICS - Supports O2 Sensor and EVAP (Evaporative Control) System Test. AD410 code scanner initiates a leak test vehicle's EVAP system by monitoring the integrity of the fuel tank system; the O2 Sensor Test is for monitoring and adjusting air / fuel mixture, which can identify trouble shooting related to fuel efficiency and vehicle emissions.
  • QVGA DISPLAY & NEW UI - AD410 code reader is a great upgrade from the more basic diagnostic scan tool. It has a 2.4" TFT true color (262K) LCD display which indicates test results more clearly. With the easy-to-read UI design, you can easily access among the following: Setup, OBDII Diagnostics, I/M readiness, and DTC Lookup and Review. You don't even need to read the manual to know what to do. Even a beginner can easily use this unit.
  • DIAGNOSIC REPORTS & UPDATE - Click "Review & Print" option to save or print the diagnostic report as needed. ANCEL provides life-time FREE software updates for this unit to fix the latest bugs or add new parameters. Just download the software from the ANCEL website. Initially a little intimidated with the use of this product. However, the directions are clear and user friendly, I was able to detect my DTC engine light codes, diagnose the problem, repair it, then clear the DTC .... with no issues. Thx Ancel ....good Job and great product.

This is definitely a basic scanner, but it’s all you need. Find the code which will help you fix the problem(s) and then clear the code(s). Simple. Updating it was easy - works with windows 10. The scanner itself has a long enough cord on it, the screen is nice though don’t be fooled - it’s not a touch screen. Over all I would definitely recommend this scanner. For the price you can’t beat it.

This product is a great product and worth the extra money over the cheaper OBD2 scanners. Let me start off by saying I have a 2006 GMC Sierra. These scanners results may vary depending on your make of vehicle. I have only used it on my vehicle. This product is worth the money though. Connected to my vehicle easily, quickly and flawlessly following the provided manuals instructions. The product is simple to use and was able to read trouble codes, provide quick information on the trouble codes and delete the codes all very easily. The menu layout on the screen is easy to understand and I had no trouble figuring out how to do what I needed. Also the ability to trigger tests such as the EVAP sensor test makes it well worth the money. Not all sensors test continuously and need to be triggered for your computer to test and show trouble codes. This is extremely useful for Californians out there for smog tests, as you may have to drive approx 50 miles (about 10 dollars in my truck) for these sensors to trigger after clearing codes. I learned that the hard way a couple of years ago. There is also the ability to read live information from the vehicles computer which can be extremely useful when doing diagnostics to find the problem resulting from trouble codes. It's nowhere near as nice as the diagnostic computers from the manufacturers, but for 40 bucks it's a Lot more than I expected. The only issue I have with this product is some of the sensor readouts have a code (e.g. $02) instead of name. This means you'll have to do some research on your own to figure out what they are.

To start off with a couple trivial negatives. The reader is small and so the text on the display is similarly small. If you wear reading glasses you will need them to read the display. The setup manual is similarly printed in tiny print. Again, not a significant problem since the documents are available on line. The setup manual indicates the need to perform some manual steps if using Windows 7 to install the device driver if you are updating the firmware - in my case the device was recognized anyway and no manual install was necessary. On to the positive - I have on a handful of occasions had a local parts shop use their reader to pull codes from this 1997 Explorer - every time it took multiple tries and 5 to 10 minutes for them to get the codes read. I plugged this device into the OBD2 port, turned on the ignition and within 30 seconds was looking at the codes. Very painless. On top of that it correctly reported two stored codes. The much more expensive and fancy one the parts store used only reported one. The cable is fairly thick and tightly coiled in the package. This led to some concern that it'd work like a short spring and interfere with straightening the cable. Thankfully the cable is fairly supple and it easily straightened out - not completely but far more than expected. The real-time graphing function is fun to play with but I had no legitimate need for it. I can say that the sample rate is pretty high and the pixels on the display are small enough that you get pretty good detail in the graphing. It is nice that you can pick and choose which items to graph together - took only a couple seconds to put throttle position, rpm, and mass air flow volume on the same graph. The device has no batteries. means that you don't have to worry about them being dead the next time you go to use it. Thing is though that with the manual code lookup you have to be in your car and connected. It does seem rugged enough to last and to tolerate being dropped, tossed in a tool box, etc. It feels very light when holding it and most of us have been taught that heavier=better - seems that is a misperception with this device - afterall with the size of electronics today, the fact that this has buttons on it is probably the only thing driving it to be as big as it is. And to the final question, would I buy it again or recommend to someone else to, yes, I would.

I won't claim to know a lot about these things. But, our car had a very tiny vacuum leak which was periodically turning the engine light on. With this, we were able to verify that the problem was still minor and turn the light off ourselves. It does what we want it to.

Have used it twice now and it works very well for my needs and it gives me a better idea if there is a problem that is beyond my ability to fix.

I've only ordered this because my check engine light came on three days ago. I received this, unpacked it and read the instructions. Went outside and plugged it in to my access port. Got an immediate code and english explanation of the problem. It was my thermostat not allowing the engine to come up to proper temperature. Had a spare so quickly installed the spare and erased the computer code. This little device saved me over $100 the first day I had it. Very simple to use. Went to the website and installed the computer software on my home computer.

I have purchased other types of ODB II scanners that are fairly inexpensive and they ok. Not the best and worked but required looking up the error code once the scan was done. That is not the case for the ANCEL AD410. I was impressed that it read the code and told me the issue. I actually had Autozone scan and they told me what the problem was and said I should just reset the code when I get the chance. Once the ANCEL arrived, when I had the time, I plugged it into my R350 and it read the code and gave me the same exact problem. Very easy to reset and done. The images really make it easy to navigate the device. I'm glad I lost the other cheaper OBD scanner.

Very nice tool to have. When that pesky check engine light comes on, it's nice to have this in your toolbox instead of driving all over town to find an AutoZone or O'Reilly's to have them read the codes for you. **One thing I did learn after buying this and using it myself. If you plug it in and the screen stays black, check your cigarette lighter fuse. Apparently that can cause the plug that the OBDII fits into not to have power. I almost sent this back, until I realized it wasn't the machine that was bad, but a cigarette lighter fuse burned out causing the OBDII not to come on. Anyway, it gives you all the codes that can cause problems with your vehicle and shows whether the part is already gone or it's pending. Still learning what all it can do and what each screen means. I grew up learning to work on cars before they had computers. So lots of this stuff is new to me. But you can't learn unless you get in there and try new things. This also gives you diagnostics and graphs out feedback. Worth the money, especially on older model cars (with computers) like mine that have a check engine light pop up at least once or twice a year (it seems). Saves money in the long run, because a professional mechanic is probably gonna charge you an arm and a leg just to use his own OBDII reader. With this you can find the codes, research what is causing them and if you're so inclined, fix the problem yourself. I really like this reader and for anybody that likes fixing their own stuff, this is a must have for your toolbox.
