I'm in love with my ViewSonic projector! I spent a lot of time researching projectors that would give me a great picture quality for backyard movie viewing. The ViewSonic PJD5155 projector did not disappoint. The image quality it's adjustable for clarity as well as for angle adjustment. At night the picture quality is crystal clear. I haven't seen the picture quality in the mid afternoon since here in California the heat is scorching and I don't plan on ever watching a movie under the hot California sun; I have, however turned on a movie outside at 6:00 when the sun hasn't gone down yet and the picture quality is still great. Obviously the picture quality isn't as crisp and clear on the afternoon as it is in the pitch black of night, but it's still great. There is also a picture mode setting so that you can automatically adjust your projected image/movie with some preset picture modes. I have left pictures to show the quality on both settings. There is one HDMI port on the back which is great for connecting things like The Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, your computer, etc. There is also a micro USB port and an audio out port. The only thing this projector is missing is Bluetooth. I did work around the Bluetooth issue by connecting a Bluetooth transmitter device I purchased into the audio out port of the projector. The transmitter made it so that the audio could connect with my Bluetooth beats pill speakers. The internal speaker on the projector woeks well; but for movies I prefer something that can go louder than what the projector speaker can put out. An absolutely fantastic device that I would recommend for anyone wanting to create a movie theater ambiance at home, or for presentations. I think you'll find that you will be equally as impressed with this projector as I am. My movie screen I made from scratch is 7 feet high by 10 feet long for anyone who is wondering. This image is pretty big and looks great.

We haven't had our first outdoor movie on it yet but I did try it out on the side of my pole barn...the picture was great and it was huge !! This was a great buy....my kids are very excited and are ready to start our summer movie nights!

I ordered this budget model projector to use for outdoor movies and opted for the SVGA model. For the price point and the 3000+ lumens you can't beat this unit. I set it up on the recent full moon evening and was concerned that the ambient light might drown out the projector....but no problems. The unit is more than bright enough. I plugged in an Amazon Fire TV stick and was up and streaming movies with no problem. It has a micro-usb port so the stick plugged right in. The built in speaker is adequate on full volume but I bought a pair of Bose Companion 2 computer speakers and I only need about 20% volume to have nice sound (without bothering the neighbors).

Ok im sure many other reviews have all the specs you can read them from those im here to tell u it works as indicated. My pictures below are from an iphone 6s and in the dark it magnifies white light so the pictures do not reflect accurately with white light from the actual picture quality. The pictures come out in HD i have it just on a white painted wall so i can see a few spots where there were nail holes but its still amazing. The aquarium looks as if i have a giant one in my wall. The pictures u see here look much worse then the actual quality you will get but hopefully u get some understanding. The last 6 photos are with all my lights on. You can see the picture brightness is amazing. I know ppl need pictures to buy wish i could add more than 20. Everyone should have one of these. My projector is about 14 feet away from the wall. You can see my 3 22in. monitors below in some of the pictures. id say the screen is about 60-70inches. For 300 bucks this is far cheaper then an hd smart tv at this size. The projector sits on a camera tripod. The projector is much lighter than expected. Cant hear the fan at all. I have it right next to my bed and it has no noise, granted i have a 3.1 surround system around my bed that will envelope my hears with crsip sound of whatever i watch. Hope you all enjoy this as much as i do.

I have been researching a projector for hosting Fight Nights & sporting events without upgrading my 55" 4K TV which I'm very happy with for everyday viewing .To get anywhere near 3000 lumens the prices where $700 to $1400. This projector is 3300 lumens and the picture is very compatible to my TV ( pictures enclosed to show comparison) The projector is mounted on a plant shelf 9' 9" up and 17' from wall in family room to project 115" of viewing on a pull down movie screen that hangs over my 55" TV. I have a media box with a hdmi connection for movies & switch to an hdmi connection to my cable box for fights & sports. The sound is very decent and just basic sound. But for surround sound effect with base & loudness I connect my JBL portable speaker and the sound is amazing! You can watch in day time & lights on with the 3300 lumens but the lights off and night time watching awes everyone who comes over to my events! I am very impressed with price & picture so I decided to write review and hopefully help out with research. I totally recommend!

I'm still in awe that this projector was priced at the point where it was. Since buying a 120" outdoor HD screen I've been searching for 'the right' projector. After reading professional and consumer reviews I decided that this would be that projector and I couldn't be happier. The brightness is strong enough that I can use it, under our magnolia tree, during the day and the picture is crisp. Don't even get me started about using it at night. It's an amazing picture. I plug my Amazon Fire Stick into the HDMI port and away you go! (Be sure that you have a good wifi signal where you set up the projector.) The sound issue was simple; I have a decent computer speaker system that I don't use any more. It has a subwoofer and 2 normal speakers. I just plugged that into the sound out port and TaDa! It was almost like surround sound. A couple of additional point: If you have a mini-usb cord for your phone you can actually use this project to watch videos from that source. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. (Oh, and my friends are ecstatic, too.) Football season just took on a new life!

WOW, this really worked great. I have been researching for "outdoor models" for at least 3 weeks, and to be honest, there really wasn't one good website that really explained how projectors work. I'm still new to it myself, but we just had our 9 year old son's birthday party on Saturday, and the projector looked fantastic! It was bright enough to use it at 6pm (east coast), and looked brilliant at 8:30p and on. I was a little worried about the the light getting to hot, but the fan did its job and it never faltered! While I was researching, this model kept coming up on the list, and again, I was worried about brightness, resolution, how big I could get the picture, so I just kind of winged it and I couldn't be more happy! So here's my list of parts and extras that I bought. Of course, this model projector, a NIERBO 150 Inch Projector Screen (really only needed a 120 inch one), and a TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter / Receiver, 2-in-1 Wireless 3.5mm Adapter. I built my own screen stand out of simple pine and a couple heavy posts. If you'd like more info on that, feel free to email me at gtrodgers1@yahoo.com. The screen looked great and the picture was fantastic. The TaoTronics Bluetooth receiver was so I could use my large Bluetooth speaker for the audio. It was all very simple to set up, and the party went off without a hitch. My son and his friends had a blast playing Fortnite on the XBOX One on a huge screen. Nice work ViewSonic!

This is fantastic and I used it at chistmas for out door Christmas movies. People drive by and would watch. I even had my neighbors come with their lsen chairs to watch a Christmas movie! It was crisp and clear and super easy to use. I plugged it into another speaker full full sound. It was a huge hit! Cant wait to have a movie night this summer with our neighbors. I wish it had a lense protector though. I kept the box, and store it in there. Honestly big bang for your dollar! I bought a grey see through type of screen, but a white sheet will work too. The remoted is easy to navigate. It took me 10 minutes to set up. Ran movies off my cell phone, then my lap top. It does not have a port for flash drives. No USB which is another little ding. But not enough to give it 4 stars. You have 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA port, 1 AUX port, and 1 for a micro USB, which nothing I had fit into it. You can use it for business, indoor/outdoor movies, or decorating. Game night in your garage for the guys! It offers rear projection too.

If your needing a good projector for power point presentations, this is a good choice. It has a bright lamp and a nice clear picture. It has a 3300 lumen lamp which is pretty good for $300.00 dollars! If your looking for a 1080p projector, you'll need to look elsewhere and pay a lot more.

I decided to trade my 300 lumen pico projector for this one, and the difference is night and day! Obviously not as portable, but the image is so much better! I had no trouble setting it up and am using it with a FireTV stick plugged in the HDMI port. This is the perfect combination. The projector is very bright, and the high definition picture is a real treat. I barely hear the fan noise (I actually don't notice it when watching movies). Note that since the FireTV connects to my surround sound system via bluetooth, I didn't get a chance to test the speaker on the projector. I am so glad I traded portability for image quality given that the projector doesn't rever leave my media room. The projector is about 14 feet from the screen and fills it completely. Overall, a complete upgrade for less than 500$. Well worth it!
