A must have for Travel trailers and fifth wheels
Great solution for reinforcing our travel trailer bumper. I installed them on a 2016 Keystone Outback. Had to work around the bracket and welded areas but that wasn't a problem. Drill three holes and use the self tapping bolts to install. Super easy and definitely made the bumper much stronger. Highly recommend.

Easy to install, should work great!
I purchased these to accommodate the hauling of camping equipment that I do not want inside the camper, such as the generator, fuel, and wood. So I have a cargo tray, normally used on the back of a truck for such goods, attached to the bumper. I also have a generator box that I can lock up the expensive and lightweight generators (you know, the ones that cost $2k - $4k) but I chose the cheaper yet much bulkier and somewhat heavier generator made by champion, and designed for RV use. This is not excessively heavy, but I can bolt it to the cargo tray that connects ot the hitch I have mounted to the bumper. So, with this setup, and with the weight being somewhat off center of the trailer, I can expect some twisting of the bumper. A few trips and bam! I can lose all my stuff! This is not overly expensive but nobody wants to lose $2k of equipment....not to mention the need to repair the bumper. So I connected these brackets to help reinforce the bumper and prevent just such a loss. To be fair, I have no clue if I would lose the bumper, it may just never happen. But, I can at least spend a few bucks to help prevent it. On the flip side, there is no promise that these would prevent such a loss either, but it surely makes it less likely. So here I am with two thick brackets, ready to install them. The install is EASY for those even partially mechanically inclined. I took a drill with a bit that is a little too small compared to what the paperwork says to use, since I am not an auto shop I just did not have everything on hand in exact measurement. The bolts are self tapping (note: They are NOT self drilling, but they make threads in a thick walled tubed steel....do not depend on that for thin walled steal) so it was a simple drill, then tighten down. Mine were a little difficult to start since the threads did not want to catch, but it worked just the same. I put 3 bolts for each brace, which is what was included. I did not use any nuts, however I couldn't since it is tube steel. However mine were thick walled, but I used three bolts instead of most people using two just to be sure.

Its just necessary.
This is one of those things that you cant see or feel it doing anything but you know what it supposed to be doing. Based on other people's experiences, you will be glad that you did. I haul some pretty hefty Huffies and would hate for them to fall off and even worse cause an accident. No need for that kind of thought while towing your trailer, its stressful enough. Buy it and be done with it. Check the other reviews not one person said they lost their stuff, but for sure you have seen the reviews about people losing theirs without it. Its a no brainer. 5 stars for the stress relief and for the future knowing your stuff will still be back there when you reach your destination and of course back home.

Won't know if it actually works until it doesn't - but seems legit.
I definitely had the easiest of the 4 installation possibilities - simple i-beam, with no brakets in the way. This also means I probably had the the LEAST reinforced bumper, prior to installing these. The bumper is held to the i-beam by a couple weld beads that my father would probably kick someone off the assembly line for laying down. Installation was a breeze for my set up. Use a clamp to keep the brace in place. Once the first bolt is on, you're good to go, just make sure to hold it at the corner, so it doesn't slide or tilt on you, and leave a large gap. My bumper isn't quite square apparently because I did get very minor gaps (1-2 millimeters) in a couple spots. I'm not too worried. The bumper would sag before the welds break anyway, so it will catch, way before those snap. We already have a spare tire and grill rack (for minimal weight) on the bumper but needed to add a bike rack. As nervous as I am to have our bikes bouncing around where I can't see them at all, there's just not a good place to put 2 adult and 2 kids bikes bc they take up so much room in the pick-up and don't allow me to close the cover. Crossing fingers the braces work like they say they do. The science of it seems correct, I almost just with I had one 4 - 1 on each side of EACH i-beam but these were pretty pricey just for the 2....and I still have to buy a hitch receiver bracket for the bumper....but if they work, it's cheaper than taking the trailer to a shop to get welded or retrofitted with a new bumper system. TIP: I used red LockTite on the nuts and bolts, so they don't vibrate off or loosen up on the road. Also, have a good metal cutting bit if you're drilling through i-beam is thicker steel - you and your drill will be glad did.

Great Peace of Mind
Really nice brackets to add peace of mind to bringing bikes along with the RV. My bumper always seemed fine with our bike rack, but reading of other people's experiences made me want to reinforce ours. Then, on my latest trip, the bike rack caused the bumper to shift enough that the bumper plugs came out and were lost. These are very sturdy and easy to install.

I only wish I had done this earlier
First off, I have been hauling to three bikes on the back bumper for a few camping trips. Last time I noticed that the bikes had twisted the bumper outwards. I knew at some point that the bumper welds would fail and the bumper and bikes would fall off. So I bought these. After reading the instructions I went to drill the holes and found that the peas would not fit. I emailed mount and lock and they replied within 30 minutes. They said I had to cut out a small chunk of the Ibeam . The rest of the insulation went pretty smooth. It took me about40 minutes. I installed the bike hitch and put my weight on it and it seem to hold up pretty good. We will see how it works the next time I go on the highway. I only wish I had done this before and prevented bumper damage at the weld joints.

Added sense of security
I trust these are really doing as intended, but it’s a little difficult to tell. Nonetheless it’s an additional sense of security. My install was a little difficult. Had to maneuver around a couple of welds. Customer service was very helpful. I’m sure they get a lot of questions from people with different units/circumstances. The little extension pieces...I needed them and it just seems the method of attaching them to the bracket is not going to hold up for the long haul, but so far so good. Overall very happy.

Wish I had known about this product earlier.
The new RV 4" square bumpers are NOT made to hold bicycle racks, or really anything else for that matter. After only our second trip, with just 3 bicycles, one adult, and two children's, our bumper cracked across the welds that hold it to the frame. It was very frustrating, as our previous camper that we owned for 30 years, had a REAL steel bumper, that easily held hundreds of pounds of firewood, plus bicycles, coolers, and what ever else we could pile into the steel basket that we used. I just had to pay to have the bumper re-welded, along with adding these supports. My advice, ham them put on before you try adding a bike rack or anything else to your new RV bumper.

Good for Prevention of bumper failure
Easy to install with instructions and all hardware Included. Reinforces the bumper to prevent failure when traveling especially with gear attached. I noticed my bumper had loose welds and rot on bottom after returning from my last trip. Only noticed as bike rack seemed loose when unpacking. Could have lost my bumper, bikes , rack and caused an accident if my trip was longer. I put on a new bumper and these supports so now can feel safe towing . Install took less than one hour using drill, clamps and 1/2 inch socket.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do!
I believe products should be exactly like they are advertised and perform equally as well. These simple but effective brackets perform exceptionally well. The fit is perfect for the standard 4" tubular square steel bumpers found on most RV's. Installation is simple; drill two holes, install the quality attachment hardware, torque to the recommendations and you are done. With the proper tools you will be ready to install your bumper accessories in no time. We installed a high quality 2" receiver hitch for a 4 bike carrier and relocated our spare tire carrier to provide room for the bike carrier. We then went on vacation driving 350 miles each way. Everything stayed where it was supposed to be, with no problems at all. Product came 2 days before we expected it, was extremely well packaged and was exactly what we needed to "beef-up" the bumper on our 2013 Wildwood Travel Trailer. Upon returning home we checked the torque on the attachment bolts and found nothing had loosened. Very well pleased and satisfied. We will purchase with confidence from this company again. Great job, folks!
